In April, I was wrongly blocked from FB marketplace after denying a scammer a return on a phone he claimed didn't work when it ***% worked when I sold it to him* I'd been using it as my own phone before upgrading. I was not contacted about this in any way, I only found out I was blocked when I went to check on my listings and couldn't access the feature. It didn't even say that I was banned at first, it just wouldn't load. It's been ** months and despite countless attempts to reach out to Facebook through numerous platforms to find a way to resolve this, I have been unable to reach a human on FB's side to help me and my block is still present.
I am a small business owner and rely on the selling platforms available to the public as a means of income. Facebook Marketplace was one of my biggest sources of sales and having that unavailable to me since April has taken a huge toll on my financials and wellbeing.
In addition to un-banning me from Markteplace, Facebook NEEDS to bring human interaction back to their help center. They need actual customer service agents to genuinely understand a person's problem and help fix it.
I have been on Facebook since maybe ****? and have had absolutely no issues as far as being a trouble client or anything like that. I am involved with many different charities as well as having started my own 'helping hands' FB group for my local area with the hopes of spreading charity and making neighbors friends. I had started acquiring (through the 'free' groups or via marketplace) broken laptops which I would then reset, repair, and donate to locals in need. Due to the marketplace block, I have been unable to continue with this program as I can no longer a) get laptops to repair and b) afford the parts necessary for repairs.
I have tried everything. I have clicked the 'appeal' button that shows up on the 'banned' screen when I try to access marketplace multiple times. I have tried contacting Facebook through the Help Center but there is no way to do so. I asked a question via Help Center and got a generic 'Your feedback will be used to improve Facebook. Thanks for taking the time to make a report.' reply with no further help. Left a message on their phone number which I found online. I even contacted them through the BBB. All of my attempts have been fruitless.
