I have now been in touch with Manchester Airport directly and they have pointed me in the correct direction to get the special assistance that I need. My advice to all concerned is to establish links*liaisons between airlines and terminals. There are increased numbers of elderly and infirm passengers these days travelling through their facilities and even a designated point of contact that can co-ordinate such difficulties that I found would save so much energy and worry on the part of the traveller, and has to be worth the expense involved.
GetHuman-delmagal's customer service issue with Easyjet from July 2019
Help with my Easyjet issue
The issue in GetHuman-delmagal's own words
I have requested special assistance for my husband who is mobility impaired and a degree of dementia. I need to know that he will have access to aircraft both in Manchester and Malta via the ambilift and that I need to accompany him also as he gets nervous when I am not with him. I also need to confirm that his special assistance includes going to the train station in Manchester airport by wheelchair because I am elderly myself and cannot manage the weight of the wheelchair together with the luggage. Thank you in advance, Delma Galea
what seems to be the over-riding problem is the lack of communication between all the companies involved. Easyjet have special assistance, and very good it is too. However it stops as you arrive at the front door of the terminal. Manchester Airport have their own special assistance team which can help within the terminal confines and that appears to mostly concentrate on departing passengers not arriving ones, their systems seems adequate too....as far as it goes. TPexpressAssistance Team can help within the station boundaries, but none of these teams seem to know (or talk to) each other at all. The poor passenger is left to negotiate the communication himself by contacting each company separately. Does that seem logical? I hope someone in authority realises this difficulty and tackles the problem.
GetHuman-delmagal did not yet indicate what Easyjet should do to make this right.
I have an issue with Easyjet too
How GetHuman-delmagal fixed the problem
I have spoken to Easyjet Customer Service yesterday. They have confirmed that special assistance will be provided from terminal to terminal only. They have no liaison with Manchester airport direct and therefore cannot help with any ongoing assistance beyond the terminal. They say I must contact the airport myself but cannot give me any useful telephone numbers or email.
