Drive thru at DD, No.Conway, N.H. ***** bout * am. on fri. ********. Paid $*.** for order, gave **$ bill. Cashier was in a'tizzy' bout something-shoved order at me. Slammed window. No change,no receipt. It was VERY busy and i culd not Stop. Got home w order and was missing the coffee roll that i had ordered. Figured that she(cashier) thought my change was a tip? But i did think i was due the coffee roll. Culd not return til apprx. *:** that afternoon. Went inside and related the drive thru story frm AM. The fellow on the register(Chris) was very nice BUT he was SUPERCEDED by a female behind him who said that nothing culd be done because I had no receipt and I hadnt called that AM. I said that i didnt realize that a call was part of the procedure. She said that the Manager had just left and that she was out of coffee rolls anyway so there was nothing to b done. I was Very surprised because in my MANY years of going to this local DD-i had never encountered such a negative attitude towards customer service. All i wanted was to hav compensation for a coffee roll-didnt even ask for the change due. But now i realize that to use this particular DD Drive thru-unless you insist on a receipt and hold up the,entire line while you check the contents of every bag and taste,every drink in ur order for quality control- Dont expect to hav any mistakes (That weren't yours) to be rectified in a non combatant manner! Frankly, its too cold in my neck of the woods to make any more trips out than I hav to. Starbucks is right down the road from DD. I hav usually split my time and $$ between--BUT Starbucks has Never, Ever been so rude over so little--or even at all rude about anything! Starbucks does cost more but being treated nicely means much more to me in the long run. I did not get the name of the woman who took it upon herself to be 'acting manager' for this incident. I prefer to remember the name (Chris) of the young man who tried to smooth things,over. Thanking you in advance for some sort of acknowledgement.
I made a second trip only to get the coffee roll that i had paid for in the AM- only to be told by a non manager that I was at fault for not following what i didnt even kno was procedure when Drive Thru screwed up your order. And therefor was not due any recompense.
At this point- i only want to hear that they are sorry and that i did nothing wrong. Mayb the 'RULES' for rectifying a mistake by Drive Thru shuld be posted somewhere so that the next customer can learn.
Hav been a customer at this DD since they opened. I live locally and hav never been rudely treated until this recent development. I think it is DEFINITELY related to the recent change of ownership and management.
Just as easy for me to go to Starbucks!
