I own my own business making handmade ribbon headbands and handmade jewelry and I shop at the Dollar Tree in Indio, CA on Jackson Street to buy most of my items- even to the point where one of the managers, Scottie, and multiple other employees know me by name. Last night I went in to exchange some items- eight items to be precise- which I had the receipts for, even though they know i purchase items there appoximately two times per week. In addition, I had a friend come with me a few weeks ago and the manager came to me personally about it and i offered to pay for the item (a bottle of doctor pepper soda) and I won't even let him come into the store with me anymore and offered to pay for the item when the manager, Scottie, personally came and informed me of this. Last night I went in with exactly ** items i wanted to exchange in my purse. These were * single packs of butterflies, two rolls of ribbon, and * sets of two butterflies and the same package. I had between ** and ** items total that I was exchanging for * of the items and i also had * to * extra items- which i took my money out of my bra to make sure I had enough to cover the extra and still had money to pay my electric bill, and continued my shopping holding the cash in my hand. When I first arrived the manager told me I had about five minutes before they closed so I needed to hurry and I said okay and kept my exchangeable items in my purse to save time enough for me to shop. I figured since I am constantly exchanging items it would be okay to find the items i needed first because they know I have never stolen from there just so i could hurry up before closing and I figured I would deal wit.h it at the register upon checking out As I previously stated, I had my chihuahua with me (as well as I was on both a budget and time limit- so after the third time he knocked items out of the cart i just stuck them in my purse while i was still shopping, with complete intention of paying for them. A few minutes later- while i was still shopping, i was approached by a man who claimed said he was off duty ( but never said off duty for what) but to empty out everything i had out of my purse and accused me of trying to steal the items. I explained to him that I come there twice a week and each time i purchase or exchange items- depending on what i need more at the time- as well as told him that I had ten items i needed to exchange that were previously purchased and that I had the receipt in my boyfriends wallet outside and that he could go talk to the manager because he also knows how i am a regular customer and always pay for my items. His exact response was " I dont give a **** about what receipt you have, take your dog and get out and never come back here again. I replied that I had ten items prior to exchange and his response was "get your dog and get out before I call my boys". I felt extremely intimidated so i emptied out what was in my purse and left (including the ten items i was returning. He left the store before I even got out of the parking lot. When I went into the store at first i had an antique hamilton antique **k gold pocket watch from between **** and **** and the resale value on it was around **** dollars and when I left and got back home (directly after leaving the store) it was gone. The watch is a family heirloom that was passed down from my great grandfather and now i dont know what to do to get it back....my phone is not working and i have no way of checking my email because it was hacked so can you please call me on ********** in regards to this issue, because for some reason it wont let me select an option when i call customer service for my house phone.
