(this was originally sent to *****@***.com, an address given to me by DirecTV online chat support)**I am writing in reference to the August DirecTV DVR update. Following this update, we found we were unable to view any recordings past the letter "D". I have received instructions on the use of the "clearmybox" search. This is not a solution as it takes quite some time to accomplish and only lasts for a partial day if that. I was also originally told that an update was to be released by the end of September.**I called support yesterday afternoon for an update and possible ETA for a fix and was given none. I then went on to the online chat to try and locate an appropriate email address for customer support to get a direct email to customer service in order to write directly to customer service.**This update has crippled our DVR system and has made it barely usable, simply because as a rule we only watch pre-recorded material. In my opinion, this update should have been rolled-back within weeks of being informed of the problem. I have been paying $** a month for the past three months a system that has failed to perform and no solution is in sight. All I've been given has been a quipped apology from phone support and a $** deduction from the customer support chat agent, I find this hardly fitting compensation but I'm sure is all he was allowed to distribute. **I've been a loyal AT&T customer and returning DirecTV customer from UVerse. If no improvements are made to this system update failure I will be compelled to begin looking elsewhere for a TV and internet service provider.
GetHuman-clue did not yet indicate what DirecTV should do to make this right.
