I have been a "pleased" customer for many years, but this is the first time that I am a "dissatisfied and angry" customer who is not pleased with the answer your "tech" gave me (not her fault, but DISH's).**After a power outage yesterday, DISH came back on line and I continued watching my DVR recordings, specifically a very large amount of recorded "Perry Mason" episodes. All of my DVR folders were unaffected and the recordings remained in tact. Not so this morning. I tried to continue watching the remaining ** Perry Mason episodes in its DVR recording file and could not. When I "selected" the folder a notice appeared stating were no available recordings in that folder.**In fact DISH deleted each and every single recording in all of the individual DVR folders. The tech finally told me that since this incident had happened only once, that I should watch for another "incident" and then they would replace my hopper with sling. I questioned why after years as a "faithful" customer WHY couldn't DISH supply me with a new hopper right now (if that is the problem). I was told that is DISH policy. It didn't seem to matter that I had also advised that the screen would often go black while I watched a program and would then revert to normal (this has been going on for over a month). That information alone should have prompted a service call to my residence.**So, let's see. After paying DISH, say the minimum of $*** a month, say for a random minimum of * years (and we've been customers for at least * years, maybe more) the $*,*** we paid out doesn't qualify us for a new hopper or a service call from a technician who will actually "check to see" if DISH'S equipment is faulty. **If we do not have some type of "action" from DISH, we will be looking into switching to Direct TV or perhaps even to cable TV--at least one's recordings are not deleted because of a power outage or a thunderstorm.
