I was searching for a small dog like a Yorkie or Maltese on Craigslist. I found a seller offering two Maltese puppies for $[redacted] each. I paid him via two $[redacted] Amazon gift cards. He then asked for an additional $[redacted] for shipping fees which wasn't part of our initial agreement. After some back and forth, he requested a 6-digit code for shipping the pup but I realized it was a scam to access my phone. He now has my money, the pup, and is pressuring me for the code. I need help to prevent him from scamming others. I only have his phone number and the address [redacted] Redground Rd., Fredericksburg, VA [redacted]. I'm sharing this to warn others and seek advice on how to proceed.

Good morning. I have noticed a recurring issue on the site that I would like to address. The problem involves excessive posting, spamming, and irrelevant keywords in ads. Flagging these posts is time-consuming and often doesn't resolve it. For instance, when I search for "Marvin patio door" for sale in Minneapolis, I receive multiple unrelated ads by the same poster. I've tracked some lengthy ads to showcase the problem. The longest had [redacted] words, [redacted] lines, and 24,[redacted] characters without spaces. This situation is frustrating as it requires sifting through numerous irrelevant ads. Some ads are posted across numerous cities like Repurposedmaterials in Chicago, Houston, Denver, and more. I am keen to discuss this matter further and inquire about volunteering to help monitor these issues. I can be reached at [redacted]. Thank you. AG

My post got flagged, but I didn't include anything inappropriate. After reposting and it being removed again, it would be helpful if Craigslist provided a reason for the removal so corrections could be made. This would prevent the inconvenience of reposting and maintain a good impression for potential buyers. Can you kindly review my ad and provide feedback on what needs adjustments to avoid this issue in the future? My number is [redacted]. I would appreciate it if my ad could be reposted. I also noticed there isn't a category specifically for pets, only for farms.

I recently posted an ad for an apartment share, offering one bedroom in my 2-bedroom apartment. My current roommate is leaving after nearly a year, and the previous one stayed for six years. I always use Craigslist and have not changed the room layout, using the same photos as before. However, my most recent post has been flagged three times since yesterday, which has never happened to me before. I usually receive many responses shortly after posting. I reviewed the Terms of Use and prohibited items, and my post adheres to both. It seems some users are flagging posts without a valid reason, possibly to divert traffic to competing apps like Roomi or Streeteasy. I believe these flaggers should face consequences, and Craigslist should provide reasons for flags to help posters improve their ads. Despite the issue, I prefer Craigslist and hope to continue using it.

I am having trouble responding to ads on the site. I am an elderly person with disabilities who has unfortunately been scammed before. I recently had a bad experience with someone who answered my ad, and it left me feeling upset. Despite this, I haven't done anything wrong to be blocked from responding to ads. I rely on the site for various listings like wanted items, general for sale, and more. I am not very tech-savvy, but I use the site to find what I need. I have included my phone number should anyone need to contact me. I would appreciate it if you could help me understand why I am experiencing these errors. Thank you for your assistance in advance. If you call and I am not available, please try again as I am sometimes away tending to my animals.

Dear Craigslist Representative, I am writing to address a recurring issue I have been facing with my ads on your site. I have been a loyal user for almost 20 years and have always preferred Craigslist over other platforms. I have even introduced many clients to your site. However, in the past few months, my ads, photos, and information are being deleted shortly after I repost them. Despite my efforts to update and monitor them regularly, they keep getting marked as expired, leading to hours of reposting work. This constant deletion of my ads has been frustrating and disheartening, as it hampers my ability to attract potential clients. Could you kindly provide an explanation for this ongoing problem? I eagerly await your prompt response. Thank you. Best regards, Joy.

A couple of years ago, I began posting a public service ad offering "Free Tax Advice." As a retired HP electrical engineer, I do this solely to help others, not for income. I have assisted numerous individuals who have been grateful for the guidance I've provided, with some even referring to me as a "saint" for aiding them in developing a plan to resolve their tax issues. However, over the past few months, my ad has been repeatedly flagged and taken down. Despite my efforts, it does not appear to violate any of the criteria for being flagged. Could someone please explain why this is happening? Ad flagged & removed: [redacted] (free stuff) A PUBLIC SERVICE-FREE TAX ADVICE. Thank you, Tom N. [redacted]

When I try to post an ad on Craigslist, I can create the ad, upload pictures (the auto-fill fields work correctly), but after pressing publish, I don't receive an email to confirm the ad is live. I've also noticed that when I click on "account," the auto-fill shows the email address as "[redacted]" instead of "[redacted]" Additionally, when I attempt to update the email to the correct one, I don't receive any email with a temporary password for accessing my account.

I am selling a treadmill on Craigslist and received a reply that seems suspicious. The buyer wants to know if it is still available, the fixed price, and asked me to contact them via email. They claim they are unable to pick it up and want to pay with a Certified check that will be sent via UPS. They also offered to add $70 to hold the item. I need advice on how to proceed with this potential buyer.

I am a realtor and I have a listing at [redacted] Craigen Rd. in Liberty Hill, TX. We have been dealing with someone posting my listing for LEASE on Craigslist for the past two months. Despite flagging the post multiple times, it keeps reappearing. We have reached out to Craigslist three times but have received no response. This situation has led to multiple individuals showing up at the property, posing a safety concern for my clients who have young children. If any harm comes to my clients due to this unauthorized posting, both my clients and I hold Craigslist responsible. I urge Craigslist to prevent any further unauthorized ads for leasing my property. It is crucial to address this issue promptly as we are in a contract, and I do not want the buyers to face the same problem.

If you come across a lost pet in the USA, here are some steps you can take to help: 1. Notify animal control in your town and surrounding areas. 2. Reach out to animal rescue organizations and local veterinary offices. 3. Contact your area's U.S. Department of Agriculture to find licensed individuals who handle stray animals for research purposes. 4. Create a flyer with a photo and distribute it in your community. 5. Inform neighbors and friends, post ads on online platforms like Craig's List, and place ads in local newspapers for at least six weeks. 6. Contact the area's Highway Departments to inquire about any animals found on roadways. Remember to offer a reward if possible and follow preventive measures like providing contact information on your pet's collar, taking clear photos, establishing a routine, and teaching them to come when called. In case you find a lost pet, report it to rescue groups and veterinarians, check ads, and only give the animal to a no-kill shelter. Stay vigilant and do your best to reunite lost pets with their owners.

To Whom It May Concern, Hello, my name is Dashamir Lezha. I recently purchased paid ads on Craigslist for posting cell phones by a dealer in Nevada, Las Vegas. However, there seems to be a problem with some posters who are paying individuals from other countries thousands of dollars to post hundreds of ads, mainly from India. This unfair practice is making it difficult for my legitimate paid ads to compete. It appears that there is a scamming scheme happening where these posters are inundating the platform with fraudulent ads. I urge someone to take a moment to review the cell phones section in Las Vegas on Craigslist to witness the high volume of suspicious postings. It is evident that money is being sent to India through PayPal for these deceitful activities. I am considering raising awareness of this issue with the local media and can provide evidence such as videos or screenshots to demonstrate what is happening on Craigslist. It is crucial for the moderation team to address and resolve this matter promptly as it is affecting the integrity of Craigslist postings.

I placed an ad on a trade service using my Visa debit card initially, but it didn't work. Later, I used my Credit One Visa credit card successfully. I have concerns about the security of my Visa debit card as there is a significant amount of money on it. Recently, I received a suspicious text from someone named Peggy Giannone asking for Google account details and verification codes, which seems unrelated to the ad I posted on Craigslist for J&G Home Improvements. I paid $5 with my Credit One Visa card. I just want assurance that my debit card from Chase Bank wasn't compromised. Please reach out to me, I'm James A., at [redacted]. Thank you.

I posted a housing ad on CL that keeps getting flagged and removed, even though I believe I am following all the terms of use correctly. I have successfully used CL for similar purposes many times before without any issues. Despite trying to resolve the problem by following the Help page links, none of them seem to work. The ad is new, and after rephrasing and reposting it multiple times, it still gets taken down. CL mentioned a possible issue with Index pages, but I don't think that's the cause since the ad is flagged immediately after posting. I haven't used CL in a while, but in the past, updating the ad with new pictures yielded positive results. I've attempted to find a solution within CL's pages, but I haven't been successful. Your assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am Alexis Mendez, and I need to report a scam incident. I was browsing Craigslist for cars in Delaware and found a Honda Accord listed for $[redacted]. I contacted the seller who advised me to use an eBay protection plan for payment. I paid $[redacted], and she claimed the car was in Florida not Delaware as advertised. She then demanded an extra $[redacted] for insurance, which I couldn't afford, so I paid $[redacted]. When I questioned her, she disappeared. I contacted eBay, only to discover this was not a genuine listing. I've lost $[redacted], and both the seller, Elena Gibs, and eBay representative have stopped responding. I reached out to eBay customer service and was informed it was a scam. I am hoping to recover my lost funds.

I placed an ad on Craigslist for my retail store selling New Nil's Master ice augers powered by Tanaka engines. Unfortunately, the ad was removed twice due to false information about our products. Nil's Master is still in business, and Tanaka still warranties the powerheads. The price of these high-quality augers has always been on the higher side. We value our reputation and do not engage in fraudulent practices. I suspect the false claims are from someone in Wisconsin who was unhappy I wouldn't lower the prices. I posted in Minneapolis, targeting serious ice anglers. Maintaining my business's integrity is essential to me. I would appreciate guidance on creating an ad that avoids being flagged unfairly. My reputation matters greatly, and I am troubled by these actions. Kindly advise on how I can prevent such situations in the future. Thank you. - K.J., ad Id# [redacted]
