I responded to a Craigslist ad for a rental house. The person I've been corresponding with sent me a rental application with unusual questions and requests. After finding out the house was up for auction, I played along to gather more information. They've now asked me to send a $[redacted] deposit via Western Union to secure the house. They have been persistent in contacting me by phone. It is clear that this is a scam as the house is not for rent. I have all the emails and details. This individual has given me inconsistent names in our exchanges. It's crucial to stop them from potentially scamming others. I've spoken to the owner, who confirmed the house is not for rent. If anyone can help or offer advice on reporting this, please let me know.

I posted an ad for my car on Craigslist Adelaide and got a response from someone interested in buying it. However, they mentioned they are out of the country and asked for billing arrangements to pay me without seeing the car. I recognize this as a scam because I have experienced it before on another site. I have reported it through the link provided, but I am wondering if my ad is still active.

I have documentation proving that a person on CL asked to switch from email to texts and demanded $[redacted]. I have numerous screenshots of the texts and the wire transfer evidence, clearly demonstrating that I was blackmailed. Unfortunately, my attempts to report this were futile as my posts were deleted. It is disheartening that no one is listening to my situation. I urge for the removal of the original post and I am willing to offer $[redacted] for information on the poster. This sum will be donated to a charity of your choice, just give me the details so that appropriate measures can be taken.

Good afternoon, I am a realtor who relies on Craigslist for advertising income. Recently, someone working in the same area has been flagging my ads, causing me to lose business. This has been ongoing for a month, and it's affecting my livelihood. I am concerned and seeking help to resolve this issue so I can continue working successfully. Thank you, JULIETH V. I am looking to identify the individual who posted a Craigslist ad on my behalf on March 3, [redacted]. This ad appeared on the Alaska Craigslist site under personals women seeking men and had a 10-digit code: [redacted]. This ad has jeopardized my safety and that of my children. Although the creator removed it shortly after posting, the content shared by those who saw it was alarming. The ad falsely claimed I was seeking a one-night stand after ending a relationship, revealing my personal details like address, phone number, and photo. I have already filed a police report and am considering legal action. I can be reached via email at [redacted] or by phone at [redacted]. Any assistance provided is greatly appreciated.

I am unsure why Craigslist has banned me from using their site. I have been a loyal user for many years and recommended it to others. I mainly post about rehoming puppies and other items. However, I have been flagged and blocked without clear reasons. It seems unfair when others post similar content with no issues. I am confused and frustrated as I have conducted a lot of business on Craigslist without problems. I hope to understand why this has happened and how Craigslist determines valid reasons for flagging users. It is disappointing not to be able to use my account after all this time.

I responded to an ad on Craigslist for a [redacted] Mustang that had the ID number [redacted]. We reached an agreement, but the seller called me the day before I was supposed to get the car and backed out. I am now out $[redacted]. He promised to refund me, but he never did. I have reached out to Craigslist twice through email but have not received any response. I feel like I have been scammed, and at 60 years old, I need help to recover my money. I have all the communication and promises from the seller regarding the deal. Thank you, Preston.

I am facing a distressing situation where someone has been repeatedly flagging my personal ads out of spite because I rejected his advances. This behavior is unacceptable and causing me significant mental anguish. I believe it constitutes harassment and even a hate crime. I kindly request assistance in addressing this issue before I escalate it further legally. Your prompt action to prevent this individual from flagging my ads again would be greatly appreciated.

I agreed to a $20 ride on Craigslist on March 25, [redacted]. The driver picked me up, I paid through Cash App, and he took me to my destination. Unfortunately, I left my garage opener in the car. The driver confirmed he has it but has been delaying returning it despite multiple promises. Initially, he said I'd get it on the 27th, but that didn't happen. He even mentioned living out of state, though he previously said he was local. Concerned for my safety, I requested the opener back, but he threatened to discard it if safety was a concern. His Craigslist ads are gone, he blocked me, and I can't reach him.

After checking back a couple of days later, the item was nowhere to be seen online. Following advice from a Craigslist post, I changed my account password but it didn't help. I then attempted to re-list a previous item and received an email confirmation. However, I couldn't find the re-listed item online after an hour. The following day, I saw that the re-listed ad was finally online. It's puzzling that the re-listed item worked, but the new one didn't.

A woman named Carolyn visited my home and adopted a male and female pit bull and shepherd mix. During the visit, she mentioned a Bernese Mountain Dog being expensive, raising my suspicions. I noted down her car's license plate. The following day, she sent me pictures of the dogs looking happy. Upon checking online, I discovered a post by her selling the puppy from me, misrepresenting it as a Rottweiler and Bernese Mountain Dog for $[redacted]. The post featured the same picture she sent me and included her name and phone number. Another woman, who claimed to be her sister, came by the next day and purchased two puppies. The post's ID is [redacted]. I have all the necessary information to verify these events. I am distressed by what has transpired and concerned for the well-being of the puppies. If you need further details, you can contact me at [redacted].

My husband saw a car listed on Monroe Craigslist. After he contacted the seller, she mentioned she was in a hurry to sell as she couldn't store the car. She referred him to another person to discuss the sale. This person asked him to purchase 4 eBay cards totaling $[redacted] and share the numbers. Later, she requested an additional $[redacted] for truck insurance, which he didn't have. After asking for a refund, she explained it would take 48 hours. We are still waiting for the refund while the car remains listed.

I saw an ad on Craigslist for a rental house at [redacted] Kempford Field Place in Waldorf, Maryland, listed for $[redacted] a month. The contact email provided was [redacted] After emailing William Wolfays, he asked me to fill out an application and pay half of the security deposit, around $[redacted], before he would send the keys and paperwork. I sent the money via Western Union on Wednesday the 25th and was told it was received. However, on Friday the 27th, Mr. Wolfays claimed to have sent the package but never returned my calls. I discovered the money had been picked up by someone else in Garrett, Pennsylvania. I have all the paperwork, Western Union receipts, and details of our conversations.

I am facing a frustrating situation with my room rental ads being consistently flagged and deleted on SF Bay Area Craig's list for the past three months. Despite following all the rules and reaching out to CL for assistance numerous times, my posts keep getting removed. As a long-time user of the platform for nine years, I feel like someone is targeting me unfairly by deleting over 20 of my legitimate ads. I consider this behavior to be harassment and abuse, extending beyond CL's guidelines. It is distressing for me as I rely on renting rooms to cover my own expenses. I have classified my ads under rooms & shares or sublets in the SF East Bay area. The continuous deletion of my posts is causing me significant stress each day, as I have to re-post constantly only to face removal shortly after. I fear losing the opportunity to rent out rooms due to this ongoing issue. I urge for this ordeal to end and request CL to intervene or provide me with an explanation if there are any internal concerns causing this disruption. Your prompt assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Alana Marcel B. [redacted] [redacted]

I purchased a [redacted] Puma travel trailer from Lakeshore RV located at [redacted] US Highway 92 East, Lakeland FL [redacted], phone number [redacted], through Craigslist on April 19, [redacted]. They assured me that everything in the trailer was working. However, upon returning home, we discovered that the air conditioner was not functioning. Despite requesting the keys before leaving, they mentioned they would send them by mail. After two weeks of daily calls, they keep giving me excuses. They said they would have the other owner cover the cost of a new air conditioner but never followed up. They eventually sent a new lockbox, albeit the wrong one. Despite multiple calls, they have not responded. They overcharged us $[redacted].00 for tags that should have cost $85.75, promising a refund that has not been issued. We trusted their assurance that everything was in working order, believing they were honest unlike other RV dealers. I insist on their removal from Craigslist to prevent others from facing a similar situation.

My post was flagged, but it was true. A & E Construction is not a licensed contractor in the area Art Bolzman advertises. The city of Ann Arbor, MI has prevented him from pulling permits. I urge you to verify this with the city at [redacted] or fax [redacted]. All details in my post are accurate. Please take action to prevent him from continuing shady business practices. I had to go to small claims court to collect payment. The case was at 14A-4 District Court in Saline, MI, contact [redacted] or fax [redacted], Case no. 184cu717. I am willing to prove my claims in court. I was also wrongly charged three times for the same post. Please refund $10 to my account. It is important to prevent someone without a builder's license like Art from posting on Craigslist.Thank you, R. Smith

I received an offer from someone interested in buying my furniture located outside of Florida. They are requesting my PayPal email to pre-pay and plan to send a mover for pickup. The user seems unable to pay in cash due to being on a mission. I am unsure if this is legitimate or a scam. Another individual offered immediate payment with a $50 bonus if I shared my address for a cashier's check to be mailed, which I believe is another scam. I appreciate any guidance or advice on these transactions as I have fallen victim to scams in the past. Thank you. - P. Frankhouser, Fort Lauderdale

I've been struggling to reach someone by phone. What kind of customer service is this if no one answers the phones? I'm looking into item #[redacted]42, a Craftsman riding lawn mower for parts. I haven't received a response through the site's page. Can you assist me in contacting the seller of this ad? I'm interested in buying the item. Thank you. - Rodney B.

I acknowledge your concerns regarding the removal of the personals section from the website. I disagree with the legal changes too, as it seems to impede on personal liberties. However, it would have been helpful to receive some form of notice prior to the section being taken down, as it has made it challenging to reconnect with individuals. I hope that in solidarity, you and other companies will combat this legislation that appears to infringe on our rights. And when victory is achieved, I will return. In the meantime, I am exploring alternative platforms headquartered in other countries that offer a similar global outreach that Craigslist once provided. Until the personals section is reinstated, I may only resort to using your platform if Let Go doesn't fulfill my needs.
