The issue in GetHuman-tedthomp's own words
"You rule the Universe!"**I bought a long piece of *” Manila rope yesterday, with the intention of building a rope swing for my *-year-old grandson, Felix, to hang from the tree in our front yard. I made a woven loop in the *-strand rope, and then spent about an hour tossing a rock with a string tied to it up across the hanging branch I had in mind. Threw it through the wrong place, time after time. Tangle after tangle. I finally got it in just the right place, perfect, then tied the heavy rope to the string. Pulled it up, up, up, with the intention of pulling it through, and…and then the string broke. Drat the luck (which is not what I actually said!)**Start all over? Not on your life! Instead I sat, tired and inconsolable on my front porch, bemoaning my bad luck and poor aim, my wilting muscles and tired bones, and wondering where to go from here.**“What I need,” I said out loud, to the ever-listening universe, “is a bucket truck.”**Five minutes later, as I awaited destiny on the front porch, a Cox Cable truck pulled up to the stop sign in front of our house, visible in this picture, and the driver was forced by law and company policy to come to a complete stop, giving me the chance to flag him down. Which I did. I whistled him down, begged for his help, and he was forced by the Universal Law of Human Kindness to Children to provide his assistance. Ten minutes later, Felix had his promised swing, thanks to a nice guy and complete stranger in a Cox Cable bucket truck.**When I told my wife Roxanne this story, she said…well, I refer you to the subject line of this note, and I can’t find any reasonable argument with that. I think it’s always gone that way for the important things in my life, and a cool rope swing for my grandson, Felix, measures up.**T.
