Re: Costco Sheffield.**As a Costco member of several years and knowing that our second car (Kia Venga *.*) would soon need replacement tyres, I began trying to contact the Tyre Bay at Sheffield as soon as November's offer on Michelin tyres was announced. Having previously purchased Michelin X climate tyres (from Costco) for our third car, I wanted the same type again.*After three days - during which I was dealing with the aftermath of my brother's sudden death and at least ** fruitless telephone calls (as they went unanswered at the Tyre Bay)* I later had some business on the edge of Sheffield and opted to extend my journey to visit Costco in person last Friday (Nov. *). As my wife was using the Kia, that visit had to be in my Volvo. *My tyre requirements were checked (*** x ** - **H) and although the ideal **H rating X-Climate tyres were not available, apparently there was an ample stock of the *acceptable* **H rating - bearing in mind that I stated (due to a *booked* holiday) it would not be possible to return with the Kia until today (Nov. **). Price agreed was £***.** (as I noted it down)*On return from holiday this afternoon (leaving earlier than otherwise we would have done), I took the Kia to Sheffield - only to be told that there seemed to be no *** x ** **H X-Climates in stock. As a slow puncture had manifested itself when the car was not used, making the tyre replacements even more important and as the absence of stock was totally contradictory to what I had previously been told, the position was checked and re-checked - but to no avail. *The supplier's order position was then checked - which took a while - and revealed no **H type on order and the next batch of **H tyres in the size needed would not arrive until the **th - i.e. after the offer had expired.*My only suggested option with yourselves was to purchase **V rated tyres - which would be £** more than the **H rated version and are intended for vehicles with enough power to reach *** m.p.h. (rather than the *** m.p.h. maximum of our Kia Venga).**The time that it took to get to this position and the vehicles already booked in for this afternoon meant that I could not risk staying at Costco and then potentially being delayed in queuing traffic on the Sheffield Parkway (which, on my way to Sheffield, I could see was busier than normal) and on the M* motorway, Being late for a *booked* family meal in Nottinghamshire would have been a problem!**So: *Tyres that were expected to be available weren't!*I had a wasted trip of ** miles today!*Even next week, I will not get exactly the tyres I want and will pay £** more than I was quoted plus I will have to drive an extra ** miles!**Hopefully you can see why I am a very annoyed customer and I am very interested as to what you propose.
