I have been a consumer cellular customer for many years, paying $** for a line with *** minutes and $** for a second line sharing those minutes. Last year, you advertise dthat, rather than having to pay a high per-minute rate for excess minutes, I would automatically be raised to the next level if I went over the allotted minutes. I was pleased by that, because I had a temporary project coming up that I knew would require more than *** minutes for three or four months.**After the project ended, I found that not only had my level not been changed back to *** minutes, but the monthly cost of my additional line had been increased from $** to $**. I called about this, and the level was changed back to *** minutes the following month. At that time, I failed to notice that I was still being charged an extra five dollars for the second line.**Last week I needed to change is the credit card being used for automatic payment. I was unable to find a way to do this online, but I did notice while logged in that I was still being overcharged. I phoned, took care of the credit card change and asked about my billing. The representative (I think his name was Dan) put me on hold while he looked into the situation. He returned to tell me that I had been "grandfathered" into the $** second line rate but that when my minutes level rose, it meant that I had changed my plan and lost that rate.**Nowhere in your explanation of the automatic level change system did I see any mention of an increase in the rate for the second line and I find what has happened to be completely unacceptable. Yes, it's only five dollars, but that's $** a year, and it's sneaky and unfair. Moreover, you now want to charge the same rate for the second line as I pay for the first one, but the second line comes with zero minutes* it simply shares the first line,s *** minutes.**Dan couldn't make sense of it for me. I asked him to have someone who could justify this stealth increase call me back and explain it. I am still waiting for that call.**At this point, I no longer care about an explanation. I just want my second-line rate returned to $**, and I want a refund of the $* overcharge for each month I have paid it since my level went back to *** minutes.
