As everyone has told us....unfortunately all you can do is stay home from work, get up at *am PST and continuously re-dial the number until you reach an actual human being. After MONTHS of trying, we finally got through to someone, the worst part is that the human being simply re-stated the same information that was already available to us on the govt. website. So ultimately, we STILL do not have specific answers to very specific questions, as the officer in charge of our case has given no updates, over a month after the last request for yet more documents. We are not young adults. We have been together for over ** years. Our relationship has been on the brink more times than I can count, due to the stress of this ** year long immigration process. I have a terminally ill younger sibling and I am now on permanent disability. This has been an absolutely heartbreaking process. It is a good thing my partner will have Canadian medical if he ever gets his residency, because I am sure if he doesn't already, he will have an ulcer by the time this is over.
