We're sorry to hear that you are experiencing this problem. To gain control of your account without your old phone, you need to reset your Two-Factor Authentication. Please note that for this process, you must know your Chime login information. If you remember your login details, you can log into your account from a new device and Chime will prompt you to confirm your identity with your social security number. Once you've done this, the Two-Factor Authentication will be reset, permitting you to link a new mobile number to your account. This will overwrite the previous phone number linked to your account.

To update your Chime account for logging in, follow these steps: 1. Open the Chime app on your phone. 2. Look for the “Account Settings” option. 3. Select the information you want to update, whether it's your username, email address, or password. 4. If it's your password, you’ll need to enter the current password first. You can then enter a new password, confirm it by retyping, and save the changes. Make sure to choose a strong, unique password for security. If you've forgotten your current password, select the 'Forgot Password' option on the login screen and follow the prompts to reset it.

To recover your old Chime account, open the Chime app or visit the website and select the "Log in" option. When prompted, input your email address associated with your account. If you don't remember your password, select the "Forgot password" option which should prompt a password recovery email to be sent to your attached email address. Follow the instructions in the email to reset your password. Please note that for security reasons, you'll need to verify your identity before you can gain access to your account. If you are having trouble recovering your Chime account using your state ID, it could be due to issues with the ID picture's clarity or validity. We recommend you to ensure that the ID you're using is current, clear, and accurate. Terms of agreement with Chime do state that verification takes valid government-issued identification. If you are still facing issues, you may need to use alternate government-issued identification like a passport. It's important, however, to note that security is paramount and steps are to prevent unauthorized access to accounts.

If you're having trouble verifying your identity via camera, Chime currently doesn't accept identification documents sent in other ways. It's crucial to take photos of your ID in a well-lit area and ensure your camera lens is clean and undamaged. Keep the ID within the frame and keep a steady hand for clarity. If you're still having trouble, try to borrow a higher-quality camera or smartphone from a friend or family member, then attempt the ID submission process again. Remember, Chime needs a clear image of your ID to confirm your identity for your security and account recovery.
