Serious amount of discrepancies throughout hiring of rental car. *Upon arriving at Catania service desk to pick up rental car at avis, we had booked an Audi A*, which was paid for prior to arriving. We were told no such car was available. We were offered alternative at an additional cost per day. The car allocated to us was a fiat***L. This vehicle didn't suit the roads we needed to travel on. We reluctantly had no choice to take the vehicle. *There was poor customer service through out our time there, our representative was more interested in socialising with her co-workers. *We were given no instructions and directions to pick up point of vehicle. I had to walk around the whole car rental centre with no success. Eventually having to line up another time to get further assistance from another representative. *Finally arriving at the car one hour later. There were no instructions on how to set up the navigational system or any basic maps to get out of the area. *To add to our stress, there were no instructions on how to start up the vehicle.*We had hired the vehicle for *days. All of the seven days were a living **** for us as the size of the vehicle was far too large for the narrow streets. Of Sicily. Unfortunately due to the nature of the high stress levels caused by the above we didn't have a trip that will be remembered fondly. *If we do not get a response or some form of compensation I will be taking this further. There is one final note, on dropping off the vehicle at the avis drop off we were looked after by an extremely professional lady by the name of Agatha. If all avis representatives were like her, you definitely wouldn't get a letter of complaint like this one.
