Hi, I am writing to inform you of the difficulty I had with my baggage. I work for Royal Carribean cruise line and when returning from a work trip to Free Port from Miami on the ********** I noticed that my suitcase had been very badly damaged. I reported the suitcase to the correct authorities who offered to repair the suitcase and return it to me however, this option was unsuitable as my ship started its crossing to Europe. The file number for this is FPOAA********. I informed the representative in Free Port that I was going on a vacation from Dublin on the **th of May and that I would be in Dublin airport that morning. The American airlines colleague member advised me that it was best to hold onto my suitcase and bring it to a representative in Dublin airport that morning, as they could provide the next steps to getting it fixed. When I arrived at the airport in Dublin I checked in over an hour early and went to straight to the American Airlines desk. The colleague working at the desk told me that she was unable to help and proceeded to send me to various people in the airport to try and seek assistance. This caused me much stress and annoyance as I was now miss informed by two members of the American airlines staff. After being sent away by various officials in the airport I then came back to the desk in a panic as I had to go through security to make my flight on time. I pleaded with the representative to help, who told me that she could do nothing for me and to go to security and ask them to dispose of it. I ran to find a security officer, causing a lot of anxiety as I did not want to miss my flight. Airport security then told me my suitcase would be treated as a threat to the airport and that the information I had been given was incorrect. He advised me to return the bag to American Airlines, as it would be classified as a threat and I would miss out on my flight. I then ran back to the desk and gave the lady the bag. From there I ran, through security and rushed towards my gate to make the flight on time. This was a very upsetting experience and not only did I go through the disappointment of being miss informed, I then had to run all over the airport with no one able to help me. I am a frequent flyer, who travels not only for leisure but for work and I am now left with no suitcase. The manner in which I was addressed by the American Airlines representative in Dublin was also unacceptable, unhelpful and disappointing. As a result, I am very hesitant to use your services in the future. I am writing in the hopes that I can be compensated for my suitcase and for my time. I am also writing of my experience so that no other loyal American Airlines customer has to go through the same disappointment.
