I was trying to contact an Amazon Customer Service agent over the phone so that I could give them enough information for them to verify my identity as the owner of my account so that they would update my cellphone number for me. I am locked out of my account. ... We just changed our cellphone number. Even though I updated the cellphone number on our email account that belongs to our Amazon account, I had not yet updated the cellphone number in the Amazon account. Now all it wants to do is send the verification code to log in to that old cellphone number which is inactive and we will never get it. No one will answer a phone on that customer service phone number for Amazon.com even though there is no way to get the Corona Virus by speaking over the phone with another person. You speak to someone over the phone on your desk which no one else uses. In this day in age, there are plenty of people working from home. The quarantine is not a valid excuse to not pick up that phone! I need access to my account and in order to make that happen I need to talk to a person! I can't use the chat option because they want to send that verification code to that old cellphone number again before they will let me chat with anyone. I was in the middle of doing things with my account when a storm came too close to the house and I had to shut down my computer. I need my account access back not just so I can update my cellphone number in the account but so I can contact a seller about a return, track a present order and place another important order during the quarantine. We live almost in the middle of nowhere and rely on our supplies.**We need them to Answer their phone from a work from home office and ask whatever information they need to verify my identity over the phone in order to update my cellphone number on my account in the Amazon Computer system.
No one is buying that they cannot pick up a phone in a work from home office. If you can chat in a work from home office then you can also talk over a phone in that same office. It is ridiculous to think that people are actually going to believe that someone is going to think they are going to get the Corona Virus by talking to someone else over a their own phone in their own home office.**Our cards are set up to auto pay for subscriptions on this account. We need to be able to communicate with a seller about a return. We need to be able to track our order. We need to be able to place new orders because we live almost in the middle of nowhere and we rely on our supplies. We will be cutoff without our supply orders...quarantine or no quarantine* this is a really bad thing for us.
I need Amazon to make their over the phone customer service representatives available again. I cannot post my cellphone number for everyone to see. I do not want to post my email address for everyone to see either.
We recently ordered something that seemed to have never arrived on the day Amazon said it arrived. I kept looking for it though because sometimes the delivery people will put packages in odd places on our property instead of bringing them to the door. I ended up reporting that package missing. Then Murphy's Law, I found the package. Immediately, I contacted both Amazon and the Seller to let them know that the package had in fact arrived so that the seller would not refund us the money in error.
I have tried using their chat option but it keeps trying to send a verification code to that old cellphone number, which I will never receive.
