In Re: My closed account number **** **** **** ******I have phoned and sent three (*) letters during the past year to AT&T Universal Card. Two (*) letters to Sioux Falls, SD and one (*) to*Louisville, KY. The last letter to Sioux Falls was dated July *, *****and the last letter to Louisville,KY was dated September **, ****.*All my correspondence was ignored and remain unanswered.**I am totally frustrated with AT&T Universal Card and would sincerely*appreciate your immediate assistance. The problem concerns “a double” charge made to my Master Card and deducted from my bank account by AT&T Universal Card. I am seeking a refund of $***.**. Details are shown at the end of this letter.**Back in February **** I placed one (*) single order for ink cartridges from Sinotime Ink-toner Company in Florida. They shipped me the wrong order and would not authorize a return unless I provided them with a photograph of the ink cartridges. I disputed the charge through AT&T Universal Card but was prevented from “following through” because of a major stroke in March **** and AT&T eventually closed my disputed case without resolution. I’m ** years of age,partially handicapped, live alone and recovering from the stroke. I had no access to a camera. I provided them with a “verbal image description” It’s basic common sense that when I ordered a number of “color” and “black” cartridges that the “packaging” would differ to indicate color versus black. All the packaging that I received was identical (black) and no color cartridges were included. I became frustrated at the obstacles being imposed by the company that I personally paid the return postage of $**.** and requested an immediate refund. Their wrong cartridge shipment was returned to them by the U.S. Postal *Service at *:** PM on June *th, **** and placed in the hands of one of their company officers by the name of J. Conde.***I never heard from them after that. I did notice a number of postings on the internet from dissatisfied former customers of Florida’s Sinotime Ink-toner Company complaining about being ignored by this company and not receiving refunds for wrong shipments, etc. There were also allegations that unauthorized charges were subsequently made to their credit cards by some one after their negative refund encounter with Sinotime. This could have been coincidental. Ironically the same thing happened to me. On *October **th and **th, **** two (*) separate $**.** “fake charges” were*made by someone using my credit card number. The charge was made for “dating services” from a Florida operation called “Love Luxury”. As I said I’m ** years of age, partially handicapped, etc.and the last thing I would need would be a dating service. AT&T Universal card removed these fake charges, cancelled my Master Card ending with **** and issued me a new Master Card number**I am currently in the process of filing a complaint with Florida’s Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Bureau of Consumer Protection against Sinotime Ink-toner Company The Bureau will investigate the situation and I feel confident that this company will be ordered to refund my $***.** promptly.**AT&T Universal card “double charge” information is explained below: **February **** Statement ------$***.** charge for the ink order**April, **** Statement ------ $***.** reversal of the above disputed charge.**The error occurred when the “reversal” was entered as a “charge” instead of a “credit” and deducted from my bank account. A reversal charge always has a minus sign (-) preceding the amount to indicate a credit. When you examine the April **** Statement you will note its absence thereby creating a “double charge”**I would appreciate your assistance in refunding the $***.** duplicate charge.
