Introduction

One of the biggest concerns many travelers have about going on vacation is having mail, packages, and newspapers building up while they're away. This could result in several potential problems, including it being a sign to criminals that no one is home. If you have a subscription to the physical paper version of the Wall Street Journal, here are tips for how to put a vacation hold while you're away.

Go to the Wall Street Journal Website

Visit the website of the Wall Street Journal.

Find the "Customer Service" Line

Scroll all the way down on the Wall Street Journal homepage until you find the "Customer Service" line. It's below "WSJ Membership" and above "Ads," and it has a down-pointing arrow to its right.

Expand the Menu

Click on the down-pointing arrow to the right of "Customer Service." This will cause the menu to expand.

Click on the Link

Click on "Customer Center" under the "Customer Service" section.

Find Another "Customer Service" Link

Scroll down until you find a "Customer Service" link in white lettering.

Go to the "Contact Us" Page

Click on the "Customer Service" link, which will take you to the "Contact Us" page. You can either sign in or click the "I Don't Have An Account" box. For the purposes of this article, click on "I Don't Have An Account."

Go to the "Help Center"

Look for the line that says "Visit the Help Center for Frequently Asked Questions." It's at the top of the page above "Contact Information." "Help Center" should be a link. Click on this when you find it.

Find the Search Box

Locate the "Search" box toward the top of the "Help Center" page. It says "Search" and has a magnifying glass icon to its right.

Type Your Search Phrase

Click on the "Search" box. This will cause the cursor to blink and your phone's keyboard to appear. Type the phrase "Vacation," but don't press the return button on your phone's keyboard.

Locate the Relevant Search Result

There will likely be only one search result that appears: "Suspend/Resume Delivery." If it appears, click on it. This will display information about the topic.

Read the Section

Read the information under "Suspend/Resume Delivery."

Follow the Instructions

Follow the instructions under "Suspend/Resume Delivery." If you're unable to pause your physical paper delivery, please proceed to Step 13.

Contact Customer Service

If you couldn't pause your paper delivery subscription, it's best to contact the Wall Street Journal customer service team. Let the representative know what you've already tried doing to rectify the situation. They can provide information about what you can try next, or they may be able to pause it for you.

Conclusion

Once you know you want to put your Wall Street Journal subscription on hold until you return from vacation, it's a good idea to start the process. It checks one more task off your list to complete before you leave.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Wall Street Journal Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
