If you need to claim unemployment benefits in the state of Utah, this guide will help you.

You live in Utah and are unemployed, therefore you need to apply for financial assistance from the Utah Department of Workforce Services. However, you have not applied for unemployment benefits before, so you need guidance when filing your claim. Fortunately, filing a claim for unemployment benefits can be done easily online.

Read this article to find out how.

Access The Utah Department of Workforce Services Website:

Once you have found The Utah Department of Workforce Services website, visit the homepage and find the Claimants heading.

Next, click on the Learn More button under the Claimants heading to access the Unemployment Insurance Benefits page. From the Unemployment Insurance Benefits page, you need to find the Claims menu.

Under the Claims title, find the File New or Reopen Claim hyperlink and select it.

Log In Or Create Your Account:

If you need to claim unemployment benefits in Utah, you need a Utah Department of Workforce Services account.

If you have already created your account, sign in with your email or Utah ID and password. Once you have correctly entered your details, select the Login button. Should you forget your login password, you can reset it by selecting the Forgot Your Password link under the password box.

Make A Claim:

Once you have successfully logged into the website, you can make your claim for unemployment benefits.

It is important to note that you can only process an unemployment benefits claim between the hours of 2:00 am and 11:45 pm. If you are trying to process a claim after 11:45 pm, you must save your information and return to the site within 24-hours to submit your claim.

If you are submitting your claim during the allotted hours, you can proceed to fill in the information as requested. To apply for unemployment benefits in the state of Utah, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Your Social Security Number

  • Your driver's license number or Identification Card number

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Utah Department of Workforce Services Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
