What documents do I need to bring to the voting poll?

Asked 2 years ago
When voting in New Mexico, it is important to bring appropriate identification to the polling place. The New Mexico Secretary of State requires voters to present a form of identification that proves both identity and residency. Acceptable forms of identification include a current driver's license, a state-issued identification card, or any other valid form of identification that includes your name and address, such as a utility bill, bank statement, or government document. Voters who do not have an acceptable ID may still cast a provisional ballot, but they will need to provide an acceptable form of ID to the county clerk's office within a specific timeframe for their vote to be counted. For the most current rules and requirements, it can be helpful to visit the official New Mexico Secretary of State website.
