Selling stocks can be a mixed experience, depending on whether the price has gone up or down. With Merrill Edge, you can conveniently invest and trade online. Learn how to sell stocks on Merrill Edge below.
Log into your Merrill Edge account to begin the process. First-time users need to create an account and link it with a Bank of America (BOA) account.
After logging into your Merrill Edge account, you'll see the option to trade in the "Trade" section of the platform. This section offers various tools that can help you make better investment decisions.
From the "Trade" page, click on the stock you wish to sell from your portfolio. The platform offers two ways to search for a specific stock: either by entering the company name or symbol, or manually navigating through your holdings.
Locate the specific stock and click the "Sell" button. This prompts the order entry form to appear.
The order entry form requires you to provide details about your sell order. This includes the number of shares you intend to sell, the order type (market, limit and stop), and the order duration (day and good till canceled).
Before clicking "Sell" on your online trading platform, take a moment to review the details of the trade. Enter accurate information for an order because once you execute it, you may not change or withdraw it.
When you're satisfied with your order, click the "Submit" or "Place Order" button to complete it. The system will ask you to confirm your order a second time before processing it.
After submitting a sell order, monitor the execution of your transaction. You can track it by visiting the "Order Status" page.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
After helping consumers for 10 years, we realized that you need an impartial, live person you can talk to about comparing the various TV, cable, Internet and phone plans in your area- somebody who can compare the best deals across telecom providers.
