How do I read my electric meter?

Reading your electric meter is simple. Start by locating your meter, which is usually found on the outside of your home or in a utility box. Write down the numbers displayed on the meter from left to right, excluding any decimals or numbers in a different color. Be sure to record the numbers at the same time each month for accurate tracking of your energy usage. Keep in mind that some meters may have multiple dials, so make sure to record all of them.
