You're a Home Depot customer because their shops are well priced. However, you recently bought an item that you now need to return and do not understand the return process works. Luckily, returning an item to Home Depot is a simple process that can be carried out in-store or via UPS.

Returning an Item In-Store:

The easiest way to return an item you bought from Home Depot is to visit one of the company's stores.

Items bought in-store and online can both be returned to any Home Depot location it does not need to be the store of purchase.

When returning an item in-store, you need to take with you a form of identification and the receipt or shipping confirmation email you received to prove the date of your purchase.

Explain to a customer service team member that you would like to return the item and why and they will process your return and either refund or exchange the item.

Returning an Item Via UPS:

Visit the Home Depot Website:

To return an item from Home Depot via UPS, the first step is to visit the website.

Once you have navigated to the homepage, locate the "My Account" tab, which you can find on the upper right-hand side of the screen, next to the search bar.

Then, sign in to your account. To log in, click on the orange "Sign In" button in the "My Account" drop-down menu. Then, when you reach the login page, enter the email address and password associated with your account. Finally, click the orange "Sign In" button to log in.

If you have forgotten your sign-in information, use the "Forgot Your Password?" hyperlink to recover your account.

Find Your Order:

After you have managed to sign in to your account, find the order including the item you want to return and select the "Return Items" button. If your item is eligible for a return, you will be issued with a return shipping label.

Your return shipping label will be sent to you via email address.

It may also be important to note that Home Depot offers a 30-day return policy. So, only items bought less than 30 days ago are eligible for a return. Other items that are not eligible for a return include:

  • Floral arrangements

  • Perishable items
