How do I get a refund from Handy?

Handy’s Cancellation and Refund Policy

In general, you should be able to get a refund when you cancel a booking. However, if you cancel a booking anywhere from 2 to 24 hours before it is scheduled, you can get a refund but will be assessed a $25 fee. If you cancel less than 2 hours before the appointment, you are not eligible for a refund. If you missed an appointment but your Handy professional showed up, you are not eligible for a refund. If you have a 3-, 6- or 12-month cleaning plan, you can get a refund when you cancel it, but you will have to pay a $99 cancellation fee. If you cancel a single booking but not the entire plan, you can get a refund for that booking.

How to Get a Refund From a Handy Booking on Your Computer

To get a refund applied to your account credits, all you have to do is cancel the booking. Handy will automatically issue your refund, minus any cancellation fees that apply. To cancel a booking on your computer, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the Handy home page.
  2. Sign into your account.
  3. Go to your account page.
  4. Select Bookings.
  5. Find the booking you want to cancel.
  6. Expand the Edit Booking dropdown menu.
  7. Click on “Cancel Booking.”
  8. Click on the “No thanks, I’d like to cancel my booking” option.

How to Get a Refund From a Handy Booking Using the App

To cancel your booking and get a refund using the app, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Handy app.
  2. Tap on the Bookings icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Find the booking you want to cancel and tap on it.
  4. Tap on the Cancel Booking button.
  5. Tap on the “I’d like to cancel my booking” button.

How to Get a Refund for a Cleaning Plan

Cleaning plans work a little differently than other kinds of bookings. To cancel a cleaning plan and get a refund (minus the cancellation fee), follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the Handy website and sign into your account.
  2. Go to your account page.
  3. Select “Manage Cleaning Plan.”
  4. Find the cleaning plan you want to cancel and click on it.
  5. Click on “Cancel Plan.”

If you want to simply skip a single booking and get a refund for it but otherwise leave the cleaning plan uncanceled, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Handy app.
  2. Tap on the Bookings icon.
  3. Find the booking you want to skip and tap it.
  4. Tap on the “Skip Booking” button.

Contacting Handy

If you want to get your refund in the form of cash instead of account credits, you are going to need to talk to a Handy customer service representative. To do so, you will need to visit the Handy help forum. There is no customer service phone line and no other online contact option.
