You will need to sign in to your Gmail account to change the name that appears when you send an email. Follow the steps below:
1. Click the Settings icon on Gmail found in the top right corner of the page.
2. Click on See All Settings and go to Accounts and Import.
3. Go to Send mail as and click Edit Info.
4. Type the name you want to show when sending an email from your Gmail account.
5. Click Save Changes.
You can check if it works by sending an email to yourself. Just go to Compose and create a new message. Enter your email address, and type in anything on the Subject and Body of the email. Then, click send and check your inbox.
If you have another email address from Outlook or Yahoo, you can also add this to your Gmail account and send mail from that address via Gmail.
Follow these steps:
1. Add the email address you own to your Gmail account.
To do this, open your Gmail and click Settings. Click the Accounts tab and go to Send mail as. Click on Add another email address and enter the name and address you want to send the mail from. Click Next step for Verification.
2. Confirm the email address.
Log in to the email address account you added and open the confirmation message from Gmail. Click the link.
3. Change the "From" address.
To send an email from that address, go to Compose and create a new message. Click the "From" line in the message and select the address.
