What is the minimum earnings requirement to be eligible for unemployment benefits?
In order to be eligible for unemployment benefits in Georgia, you must have earned a minimum amount of wages during the base period, which is the first four of the last five completed calendar quarters before you filed your claim. The current requirement is to have earned at least $1,134 in the two highest-paid quarters of the base period or have been paid wages in at least two quarters of the base period. If you meet this minimum earnings requirement and have lost your job through no fault of your own, you may be eligible to receive unemployment benefits. It is important to note that the amount of benefits you may receive is based on your earnings and employment history.
