Can I use my EBT card in other countries?

Asked 2 years ago
EBT cards are primarily intended for use within the United States and its territories. The EBT system is linked to state-specific programs that provide benefits such as food assistance through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as SNAP. As such, the benefits available on your EBT card are not usable outside of the United States. While some states may have agreements with certain vendors that allow international transactions, this is not the standard practice and is highly limited. It is advisable for individuals traveling outside the country to have alternative means of payment for their needs. For any detailed inquiries or specific cases, it may be helpful to look on the current EBT Services web page for more relevant information or guidelines.
