How does E-ZPass work?

E-ZPass is an electronic toll collection system that enables quick and convenient payment of tolls on Delaware highways. It functions using a small device affixed to your vehicle's windshield, called a transponder. As you approach a toll lane, the transponder emits a radio frequency signal which is detected by an overhead antenna. This signal is used to deduct the appropriate toll amount from your prepaid E-ZPass account.
