If you have an E.ON account and are moving or switching suppliers then you may need to know how to cancel your E.ON account. To find out how just keep reading.

Before You Cancel Your E.ON Account

If you are thinking of canceling your account because of the prices, you may want to go to E.ON's website and check out its Products and Services page. On that page, you will find several different tariff options with different terms and benefits. You may find a deal you like better than switching providers.

Canceling Your E.ON Account Yourself

To cancel your E.ON account without switching to a new supplier, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the E.ON website.
  2. Click on the Login button in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
  3. Log in to your account.
  4. Click on My Account.
  5. Click on Tell Us You're Moving.
  6. Follow the instructions for canceling your account or transferring it to your new home.

The company will arrange for a final meter reading, and after that, your account will be canceled or transferred.

Switching to a New Supplier

If you're switching to a new provider, the process is often even easier. Many suppliers are willing to take care of such matters for new clients. Check with yours to see if it will take care of matters for you, contacting E.ON for a final meter read and closing out your account.

E.ON Exit Fee

If you change suppliers before your renewal period, which starts 49 days before your tariff is set to end, you may be charged an exit fee. You will need to pay this fee before you can close the account.

E.ON Objections

E.ON may object to you closing your account if you have an outstanding balance. You will have to pay it off first or check with your new supplier to see if it is willing to transfer the balance to your account with it. Some suppliers offer this service as an incentive to attract new customers.

Contacting E.ON

You can contact E.ON either by phone or by help forum.
