In a nutshell: If you miss a delivery from DPD, the driver may leave the package with a neighbor or at a pickup shop. You can also authorize someone else to pick up the package on your behalf, but they must bring ID. To track your parcel, use the 14-digit parcel number and contact Customer Support if it hasn't been delivered. If you miss the delivery, check for a calling card with a number to track the parcel. Enter the reference number to choose delivery options. If needed, contact DPD through various methods. To avoid missed deliveries, inform DPD if you won't be home.
If you're expecting a parcel from DPD, drivers usually make just one delivery attempt. If you're not home, the driver may leave the package to your neighbor or to the nearest pickup shop, for you to get your parcel. You're also allowed to authorize someone else to pick up the parcel on your behalf. However, they would need to bring a photo or a copy of your ID along with their identification card. You can contact DPD Customer Service if you want to authorize someone else to pick up your parcel. If you already missed it, read the guide below.
First, check your parcel to see its status. Use this link:

You need to enter your 14-digit parcel number. If it says the parcel has been delivered but you don't have it, try to ask your neighbor if they have your parcel. When it's been three days and you still don't have the parcel, contact Customer Support so they can investigate.
If you don't have the tracking number, ask the sender for it. You can also click on the link on the email notification or the SMS sent to you by DPD.
DPD drivers may also leave a calling card if you missed the delivery. Check the photo below to see what it looks like. Get the card number and use it to track your parcel. You'll be given other options on how to claim or pick up your parcel.
You need to enter the reference number provided to you to see your delivery options. The driver will no longer be able to make it back as he's likely on a tight schedule and may no longer be in your city. However, you have the option to arrange to pick up the parcel or change the delivery date. Simply enter your reference number to help you pick the best options for you.
If you're not able to arrange a re-delivery of your parcel or have other problems with it, the last resort is to contact DPD. You have several options to contact DPD: through the app chat, instant chat, WhatsApp or by calling them. Just click one of the options and follow the on-screen instructions.

You can avoid missed deliveries by informing DPD if you may be out during the delivery. Refer to the text message or email for your other options. DPD can deliver that to your neighbor or leave your parcel at a local collection point and then you can pick it up. You can also change your delivery or upgrade your delivery but charges may apply. If the above options still aren't possible, DPD will leave a card along with instructions on re-delivery or collection. GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like DPD in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What Do I Do If I Missed My DPD Delivery? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
