Just like with any dating app or regular app, simply deleting the Bumble app off your phone will not affect your profile in any way. In other words, just because you delete the app doesn't mean people won't keep seeing your profile around Bumble.
With Bumble, there are three ways you can change your status. The first is deleting the dating portion of your Bumble profile. You can delete the dating portion of your profile without deleting the Bumble BFF or Bumble Bizz portions.
To do this, follow these steps.
1. Enter your settings by tapping the silhouetted grey gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the app.
2. Toggle off the button beside 'date mode' and your dating profile will be disabled.
3. Once you toggle the 'disable date mode' button, you will be prompted with a message letting you know that all your dating data will be erased after disabling it.
Just know that once you take the final step, all your date profile data will be erased. So if there's someone you want to keep in touch with or data from your dating profile that you want to keep, you need to make sure to do so before the next step.
If you don't want to completely delete your Bumble account but you're looking for a digital detox, then maybe you can simply put your dating account into sleep mode for a while. Sleep mode means that other people will not be able to actively see your account, but you can still keep all your dating data. With snooze mode, you can stay away for 24h, 48h, a week, or indefinitely. You can even set it up in a way that your matches will see that you're taking a break, then when you return you can pick up exactly where you left off.
To turn on the snooze option just follow these steps:
1. Go into settings and tap the snooze button.
2. Specify how long you'd like to be away and whether you want your matches to know if you're taking a break. When you return, Bumble will let your connections know.
If you want to completely delete your Bumble account, including Bumble Date, Bumble Bizz, and Bumble Friends then you can do so by following these steps.
1. Open up the app and get to settings by tapping the grey gear icon.
2. Scroll all the way to the bottom of your settings and select 'delete account.' It will ask your reason for deleting the account, select one, then hit delete account again.
3. Type in the word 'delete' in all lowercase letters and hit delete once more. Your account will now be totally deleted, and Bumble will send you to the sign-up page.
