If you hired a Tasker to do a job and weren't satisfied with the service provided, it's easy to file a complaint using Airtasker’s dispute resolution system.
Airtasker plays the role of the mediator in the dispute, but it only steps in if the parties involved can’t work things out for themselves first. So, before you involve the company, you must first try to negotiate with the Tasker yourself.
Ask questions, be polite, and try to find out what happened. See if the task can be salvaged. If that isn’t possible, maybe you can offer partial payment for a partially completed job. Save screen shots of any texts or emails sent between you and the Tasker. If negotiations fail, you'll need them as evidence.
If you and the Tasker can’t come to terms, the next step is talking to an Airtasker representative. Explain the problem and describe what you've done so far to work out the problem. The company sends the forms you need, you sign an agreement to be bound by the Airtasker dispute guidelines and fill out a form describing your reasons for filing the dispute. Provide as much detail as you can and attach screenshots of all of the communications between you and the Tasker you hired.
After receiving both forms, Airtasker reviews them and conducts any necessary further investigations. This is usually a fairly quick process, but could take awhile. Once the company comes to a decision, it sends you a detailed explanation of that decision. It also issues refunds or payments to one or both of you, in-line with its decision. Depending on the nature of the dispute, one or both parties may have to pay a fee as well.
If either you or the Tasker fails to send in your form on time, Airtasker makes its decision based on the information it did receive. If neither of you completes their forms, Airtasker takes no further action.
If you think Airtasker decided the dispute incorrectly and you should get your money back, your only option is to file suit in your local small claims court. Your county government’s website should tell you how to do that.
