How do I book an appointment on Airtasker?

Nov 14, 2023

1. Request to Book

Booking an appointment on Airtasker begins with a simple click. Here's how it works:

  • Select package: Start by opening the listing of the service you require on Airtasker. You'll find a "Select Package" button; click on it.
  • Confirm location and date: Airtasker needs to know where and when you want the job done. Confirm your location and select the date that suits your schedule. This information ensures that you connect with Taskers who are available and willing to meet your requirements.
  • Include a message: Communication is important. Airtasker lets you include a private message with your booking request. This message can contain any special requirements. It's your chance to provide additional context to Taskers about what you need.

At this stage, Airtasker will not require you to make any payments, and there's no commitment. You are only sending an inquiry to gauge interest and availability.

2. The System Will Create a Booking Request and Notify the Tasker

Once you complete the initial steps and hit the "Send Enquiry" button, the Airtasker system will generate a booking request. Here's what happens next:

  • Task creation: It creates a private task based on the details you provide. This task includes the specifics of the listing, such as the service, location and date.
  • Tasker notification: Airtasker will notify the Tasker, who owns the listing you're interested in that they've received a booking request.

It's important to note that this is a private task, meaning only the Tasker who posted the listing can respond to your request. You won't receive multiple offers from different Taskers.

3. Discuss Requirements and Finalize the Price

You can start discussing the details and negotiate the price. These include:

  • Task discussion: On the task page, you can converse with the Tasker. This is the perfect opportunity to clarify any special requirements, ask questions and discuss the job's specifics. Clear communication is essential for a successful outcome.
  • Price negotiation: Based on the complexity and scope of the task, you and the Tasker can negotiate an appropriate price. Airtasker encourages fair pricing and transparency. Taskers can either make an offer with their proposed fee or if it doesn't align with your expectations, they may politely decline the task.

4. Assign the Tasker for the Job

Once you and the Tasker have reached an agreement and you're satisfied with the terms, it's time to move forward:

  • Accept the offer: If the Tasker makes an offer that meets your expectations, you can confirm the booking by accepting the offer. At this point, the system will process the payment.
  • Payment hold: Airtasker will securely hold the payment while the Tasker completes the task.
  • Task completion and review: After the Tasker has successfully carried out the service, the Tasker will request payment release. You can then release the payment and leave a review for the Tasker.

Conclusion

Booking an appointment on Airtasker is an efficient process that puts you in control of your tasks and projects. From sending an initial inquiry to negotiating terms and finally, completing the job, Airtasker provides a platform for the entire experience.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Airtasker Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
