I've been facing ongoing troubles with credit card payments being declined, despite there being no problems with my bank. Previously, I could resolve this by calling Upwork, but they have recently altered their process. Currently, when I try to make transactions, I receive a message saying "Financial transactions for your company have been limited. Please check your email for further details or get in touch with customer support." This is puzzling considering my billing is clear, and all dues have been settled. I have raised a support ticket, but their response time has been slow. It's essential for me to re-hire some of my Virtual Assistants and Consultants promptly.

I am looking to obtain more Upwork connects to increase my job applications since I only have 5 at the moment. As a freelancer with a free account, I am unsure how to check my billing method to ensure I have enough funds for more connects. Despite having consistent 5-star ratings, repeat clients, and a history on Elance and Upwork since [redacted], I do not wish to upgrade to a paid account.
I am disappointed by the lack of phone support from Upwork and the apparent decline in their services. The platform now seems inundated with low-paying job listings and offers from clients that do not lead to actual hires.

Years ago, I used a work email account. I am Dr. B. Richman from Sellersville, PA, trying to reach out for assistance. My original email was [redacted] for this transaction. Unfortunately, I made a mistake changing my email on your site yesterday. Now, I cannot access recent activity. I believe there may be confusion with another Bruce Richman. I completed a job for a client on Upwork. In the final phase, she disconnected her bank resulting in a bounced payment. Upwork processed a 'refund' on my behalf, and the client then canceled the contract while altering the terms post-facto due to concerns over manual time tracking. Subsequently, she ceased communication, refusing payment for my completed hours and cutting off contact.
I reached out to Upwork customer support seeking assistance. Initially showing understanding, they acknowledged the unfair situation and promised to pursue payment for me. However, they later informed me that their hands were tied and advised me to request payment directly from the client as a bonus, despite recognizing her unresponsiveness. Feeling abandoned, I grapple with the lack of further support from Upwork, as the uncooperative client remains evasive. The freelancer's limited access to phone or live chat services contrasts with the client's immediate access to customer support, leaving me frustrated and isolated in my quest for resolution. Despite Upwork acknowledging the client's misconduct, my repeated attempts to engage with them have hit a dead end, and the closure of my help ticket only compounds my dismay. I feel trapped in a disheartening situation and would greatly appreciate any guidance or assistance.

I am a freelancer on Upwork and needed to verify my account using my driver's license. Due to the COVID-19 situation, I had a temporary driver's license that was easier to read than the permanent one, which I had already renewed. However, when I tried uploading it to Upwork, the site kept showing errors. Upwork then deactivated my account, claiming that some documents were falsified, even though both versions of my driver's license had the same information.
I am worried about a pending payment and potential impact on my client due to this issue. Upwork's lack of communication has led me to seek assistance on this forum. I am also considering filing a complaint with consumer protection agencies regarding Upwork's unresponsiveness to client inquiries.
