Regarding reservation J[redacted] for May 21, [redacted], which was canceled due to my work as an Emergency Physician in the current COVID-19 pandemic. I followed the online instructions to cancel but was charged a $50 fee. Speaking with customer service representative "Bon" and supervisor "Mary" yielded no assistance as they mentioned I had already canceled online. Thrifty Car Rental's lack of support during this global crisis is disappointing. I will not be using their services in the future and plan to share my experience on social media. Avoid using Thrifty Car Rental.
Please take note of the instructions on the hold message directing customers to cancel online, which then prevents them from receiving further assistance from customer service. This setup seems designed to mislead customers.
Thank you.

I made a car rental booking through EconomyBookings online and paid $[redacted].90 for a voucher for a rental at Raleigh Airport from May 2 to May 16 with Thrifty. I cancelled over a month ago as per the voucher's refund policy. Despite being assured of a refund when I cancelled, the amount has not been returned. EconomyBookings' customer service line disconnects after long hold times. When I contacted Thrifty with the EconomyBookings confirmation and voucher numbers, they couldn't locate the booking without a J number despite being the rental provider. The Thrifty representative abruptly ended the call when I couldn't provide a J number. It's concerning that Thrifty partners with EconomyBookings, a company that fails to honor its voucher refund policy. I seek clarification from Thrifty on their association with EconomyBookings and urge them to ensure the promised refunds are processed as per the voucher terms issued under Thrifty's name.

I rented a car the night before Thanksgiving through Hotwire. The rental was $22 per day for two days. I returned it one day late and received a late fee, totaling $66. However, my final bill amounted to $[redacted], and I'm puzzled by the additional charges. I suspect an unauthorized insurance policy was added, as I clearly declined it. The customer service representative was hard to communicate with and misguided me to the wrong location for the car pick-up. I am a frequent car renter and have never encountered such excessive fees before. The jump from $66 to $[redacted] for a three-day rental seems unreasonable and confusing.

I previously thought I had completed this task, but I suspect I may have been disconnected. I rented a vehicle from Hotwire on November 25th, the day before Thanksgiving, for $22 per day. Despite my request to extend the rental by an extra day due to illness, resulting in potentially incurring a late fee, I calculated the additional cost to be $66. Therefore, I was surprised when my final bill amounted to $[redacted]. It appears I was charged $11 a day for insurance or a policy I did not authorize, need, or want. I made it clear to the employee that I did not require it, yet I was billed regardless. I feel misled by this unexpected charge and view it as false advertising. Regrettably, I will not be choosing to rent from your company again. I am seeking clarification on these charges, a credit for the unauthorized fee, and a review of my bill.

I would like to inquire about a charge on my credit card statement for $[redacted].[redacted].85 regarding a car rental from January 18 to 21, [redacted]. My name is Luis Nepomuceno Lopez. I initially paid for the rental using miles. The rental car company informed me that the charge was for a $[redacted] deposit, which they said would be refunded to my card after 4 days. However, I have not received any notification confirming the refund. I would appreciate it if you could confirm if the refund has been processed. Thank you.

On May 28, [redacted], after waiting 1 1/2 hours in line, we finally reached the desk. The representative asked if we wanted the toll pass registered with us, to which we agreed. However, on June 15, [redacted], we were surprised to see a charge of $[redacted].06 on our account, which included a toll amount of $33.00 and an administrative fee of $90.00.
We specifically requested the toll reader to be added, with an estimated fee of $12.00 to $13.00, during our lengthy wait in line. If this additional fee was not included initially, we understand the need to add it, but not the total of $[redacted].06. The inconvenience of waiting in line for so long, only to encounter this billing discrepancy, was frustrating.
Our Contract Agreement number is [redacted]40. Please reach out to me so I can resolve the issue and pay the correct daily charge promptly.

My name is Toni Smith, and my rental number is [redacted]02. I rented a vehicle from your company on 5/31 and informed the representative that it would be an extended rental. I was repeatedly assured by different representatives that I could extend the rental by calling before the due date. However, last night on July 23, when I called to extend, I was told my contract was over and the car had to be returned on the 15th. Upon requesting to speak to a supervisor, I faced difficulties and was eventually disconnected after being put on hold for an hour.
The following day, after multiple attempts to reach a supervisor, I spoke to Keyla #[redacted], who couldn't provide assistance due to no one being available at that time. I was then directed to call back for a possible resolution the next day, which was unsatisfactory given the imminent due date. The entire experience left me frustrated as I tried to navigate through numerous calls and dead-ends without any authoritative help. I am now awaiting a call from someone with the ability to rectify this situation promptly without incurring additional fees due to the miscommunication and lack of support encountered.

During my recent road trip with a Thrifty rental car, despite upgrading my vehicle, I encountered a breakdown after driving [redacted] miles. The roadside assistance hold time was lengthy and unresponsive, prompting a local mechanic to advise adding 3 quarts of oil to fix the car. While Customer Service initially assured a call from a Supervisor, no one followed up despite multiple attempts. The journey continued with additional oil added the following day. Although minor mechanical issues persisted, the trip concluded without further incidents. Although reimbursed for the oil, a credit authorization issue required contacting Customer Service multiple times with promises of a Supervisor callback, which has yet to happen even after two weeks.

Upon checking in for my rental reservation at 12:47pm on 11/6/21, I was informed there was a 2-hour wait for vehicles. I was asked to return at 1:30. The young lady was helpful initially, but her coworker became rude and claimed to have called my name. They were not making announcements clearly. After being told to wait for another vehicle, the supervisor Briana intervened. Briana was unhelpful, shoved my rental record folder, and threatened to void my contract when I expressed my frustration. She provided no information on refunds and left me feeling stranded with my child. Briana's behavior was unprofessional and no customer should be treated this way. I hope Thrifty takes appropriate action to address this issue and prevent others from experiencing the same treatment.

I rented a car through Expedia, and when we arrived at Thrifty, I wasn't the driver, but I used my debit card for the rental. At the rental desk, the agent convinced the driver to upgrade the car and asked about insurance. I declined, but was still charged. The main issue is a bill we received for unpaid tolls with fees. I registered my card with the toll system on Dec 6th, but it seems like the person who paid for the upgrades, and added insurance we didn't need, had their card charged for tolls and fees. I insist that the toll bill be removed from Marie L.'s card as it was not supposed to be charged there. We followed the required procedures to register the correct card for tolls, and your staff made an error in charging the wrong card. This needs to be corrected promptly.

I am writing to address an issue I experienced with a rental car reservation [redacted] made through Thrifty via Expedia. Sadly, the day of the rental was particularly difficult for me as my mother had passed away recently, making me quite distressed. When picking up the car at JFK Airport, I was informed about additional charges for tolls and fuel, which I declined as the reservation was prepaid. However, I later discovered that I was charged for insurance at $15 per day that I never agreed to. Upon returning the car and speaking with Bob Brighton at JFK, I was denied a refund of $[redacted], resulting in a total charge of $[redacted] instead of the original $[redacted]. I believe this additional charge was unjust, and I kindly request a refund. I also want to report that Bob Brighton did not wear a face mask during our interaction, a concerning issue during the COVID-19 pandemic. I attempted to reach a US customer service representative but was unsuccessful after multiple attempts. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello Team,
I used my corporate account to book a rental car for personal travel and paid the full amount at booking. At the thrifty desk, I declined extra insurance and chose to return the car with a full tank, but the executive added charges without my consent. They assured me they would reverse the extra fees. However, my bank informed me of a $[redacted] charge despite my requests for correction at the counter.

I rented a vehicle from Thrifty at Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) on Friday, 5/6/[redacted] around 10:49 pm, and returned it the following day on Saturday, 5/7/[redacted] at approximately 10:00 pm. On return, there was no staff available to receive and inspect the vehicle, which I found unusual. However, there was a lady at the Thrifty kiosk nearby. I inquired about the return process, and she informed me that leaving the key in the vehicle was sufficient at that time. I complied and left around 10:10 pm. Today, I received an invoice via email charging me $[redacted].88 for an extra day, showing a return time of 5/8/[redacted] at 4:40 am and a pending charge of $[redacted] on my credit card. This charge is incorrect, and I request an immediate refund. It was frustrating to be charged for an extra day when I returned the vehicle on time and followed instructions given on-site. Please refund the amount promptly.

I rented a Thrifty vehicle, a Chrysler Trax - VRN GIH-D38, from Fort Myers (RSW) airport on the night of May 6th/7th, [redacted], with rental record number [redacted]41. Upon pickup, I was told I needed to buy CDW coverage if I didn't have insurance from a third party. After a long 20-hour journey, I couldn't find my third-party insurance but later discovered it in an email with the Rental Record, showing full coverage from 'Economy Bookings' under contract number B[redacted]6. I contacted the Thrifty desk on May 7th to cancel the CDW, and was initially told I could get a refund upon return, but this changed when I spoke to the billing department on May 9th. The on-site Thrifty manager, Patrick, informed me at drop-off that I couldn't get a refund as the vehicle was already covered. Despite explaining the situation to various Thrifty staff, I was given conflicting information. I am requesting a full refund of the CDW cost due to this confusion and can provide proof of third-party coverage if needed.

I rented a Thrifty vehicle (Chrysler Trax - VRN GIH-D**) from Fort Myers (RSW) airport on the *th of May under rental record *********. The desk staff mentioned I needed to purchase CDW cover if I didn't have insurance from a third party. Despite having difficulty finding my third party insurance at midnight after a long journey, upon receiving the Rental Record via email with a $***.** charge for 'Loss Dmg Wvr', I discovered my full coverage policy from 'Economy Bookings' under contract number B********. I promptly contacted the Thrifty desk at RSW airport the following morning to cancel the CDW cover. Although initially told I could reclaim the cost upon return, the on-site manager at RSW, Patrick, later stated the vehicle was already covered, contradicting previous information. I sought a full refund for the CDW cost due to the confusion and miscommunication with their staff. I'm willing to provide proof of third party coverage if required.

Good afternoon, I recently received two letters about unpaid toll fees. I am willing to pay the tolls, but there seems to be an issue with an administration fee of $90 that was not included when I requested the tow package. I had specifically mentioned using the bridge frequently for soccer and expected the fee to be added. The notice number is [redacted][redacted] for Geri Lyn Dubay. I would appreciate it if this matter could be resolved without the administration fee. Looking forward to your response.

We rented a vehicle from the Spokane location and are having some issues with customer service. The vehicle is snowed in, making it unsafe to return it. We were willing to pay the daily fee to keep it until we can return it safely, but the agent was rude and unhelpful. They even mentioned starting stolen vehicle proceedings and refused to extend our rental. When I suggested for them to come and retrieve the vehicle, they responded negatively and were also hostile.

Our flight got canceled, so we had to cancel our rental car reservation. We were assured we could get a refund if we needed to cancel. However, the online platform charged us the full amount, which was not what we were informed. We chose Thrifty because we were promised the flexibility to modify our booking due to flight changes. Kindly process the refund of the total amount as discussed. Reservation number: K[redacted]. Thank you.

I experienced a frustrating situation at Thrifty in Honolulu. There was a long wait in line of about 80-[redacted] people, with only 2 staff members available. Even though I had a reservation, I was told there were no cars available and faced an additional 2+ hours wait. This unexpected delay has caused my plans to have dinner with family at 6 pm to be ruined. My reservation was for 1 pm. I am wondering what steps Thrifty will take to make up for this situation.
