After a frustrating two-and-a-half-hour wait on hold with the IRS, the call disconnected with an error message. I submitted my taxes approximately three months ago. Shortly after filing, I received my state return, but it took around a month to receive the identity verification paper for my federal return. Once verified, I expected to receive my federal return, but it has been a couple of months now, and I am still waiting. The refund status only shows processing without any specific date of when I can expect it. I used Cash App for filing, and it shows that my return has been submitted and accepted without any apparent issues. The IRS website assured that if there were any problems with the submission or acceptance, I would be notified, but I haven't received any such communication.
