I am looking into potential fraudulent activity concerning my federal tax return, which was filed jointly with my estranged wife. She informed me that someone filed taxes using Jack's information to claim unearned income credits and other tax benefits. She denies knowing anything about this crime. I am concerned about not receiving my refund and about finding the person who stole Jack's identity. This issue is crucial for many reasons.

I submitted my tax return in February and included a stimulus check that I hadn’t received at the time. Afterwards, I did receive the check and filed an amended return. I received a notice on May 5th saying they corrected some errors in my return and I would get a $[redacted] refund in 4 - 6 weeks. However, 6 weeks later, I hadn't received any payment. I thought everything would be okay after the amended return, but both that and my original tax return are still pending. My amended return was filed on April 26th and there's been no update on that either. I'm really in need of this money now.

I recently read online that Social Security recipients might be eligible for the child tax credit. After filling out the information on the non-filers form site, I left blank the part about the amount I am owed in Economic Recovery Payments, assuming I had already received all my EIP payments. However, this morning, I unexpectedly received $[redacted] from the IRS Treasury labeled as EIP. I only completed the non-filers form to check my eligibility for the Child Tax Credit, and now I'm concerned that the IRS has overpaid me. I need assistance with this situation as I'm willing to return the money if I am deemed ineligible.

I sent my [redacted] Tax Returns to the IRS in Ogden, Utah by certified mail on May 27, [redacted]. However, it has not appeared on my tax transcript on my IRS Account yet. Unfortunately, there is no local IRS branch office nearby for me to inquire about this matter in person. The IRS indicated that a refund check was sent to me on June 14, [redacted], but it was returned as undeliverable. I was residing at that address until June 30. However, there is no record of the CP21B Notice of Refund they claim to have sent me in my account; it does show on my transcript. I have updated my address on their website and have sent a Form [redacted] to ensure a physical request is made. Unfortunately, there is no option to update the address for the check to be sent to my new address. Despite calling numerous times, I have been unable to connect with a representative, always being told to "Call back later or tomorrow." This is a refund of $[redacted] that I am in urgent need of!

I have been attempting to contact a tax advocate for assistance with taxes owed from a [redacted] error. I received a letter to set up payments, but am unable to do so online. The $[redacted] payment is not feasible for me. I am struggling to reach my advocate in Pittsburgh, PA, as well as the IRS online or by phone. I am concerned about the IRS garnishing my wages. This is a stressful situation since my husband is retired. I am in need of guidance on how to proceed. Thank you.

I recently received a letter from the IRS regarding a levy on my account for $15,[redacted].14 due to an error in my quarterly [redacted] ending on Dec 30, [redacted]. Upon reviewing my records, I discovered the mistake and promptly corrected it with supporting documents, sending them via certified mail to the IRS to dispute the amount owing. Unfortunately, I have now received another certified letter from the IRS, increasing the amount to $15,[redacted].15. Despite attempting to contact them using the provided number, I have been unable to speak with anyone. With the payment deadline of Oct. 6, [redacted], looming, I am unsure of the next steps to take as I do not believe I owe this revised amount.

My name is Benjamin Wesley, and I am calling to inquire about my [redacted] tax return, which includes my daughter. I used TurboTax and worked with a representative to file. The TurboTax representative mentioned an issue with my daughter's Social Security number and requested proof of custody, which I sent with my tax return around March 10, [redacted]. With the [redacted] tax season approaching, I am unsure if I need to re-file or if I should continue waiting for my [redacted] return to be processed. Thank you for your assistance.

I am seeking guidance on how to report an issue concerning someone wrongly receiving Stimulus and Child Care Credit payments for a child not in their care. The biological mother holds custody, while the father, who is obligated to pay child support, has been collecting these funds. Currently, I, the great grandmother, have temporary guardianship of the child through CPS. Despite not wanting the money intended for the child myself, I feel it is unjust for the father, behind on support payments and probation fees, to receive these benefits. I am looking for assistance on how to address this matter. I can provide proof of temporary custody if needed. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you. - Debbie K. Crouch

Since August 13, [redacted], I have been trying to determine why my child tax credit check or deposit was not processed. I am unable to navigate the IRS website due to missing paperwork for required information. Despite uploading my documentation multiple times with a D.me, my inquiry remains unresolved. I urgently seek assistance as my previous month's payment is still outstanding. Numerous attempts to communicate via email have been unsuccessful. I have even shared personal details through private messages, including my ID, date of birth, address, and legal name. The IRS confirmed updating my address to [redacted] Blue Circle, Pelham, AL [redacted], yet my payment has not been received. Your help in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I have not received any stimulus checks, and when I tried to file my taxes, I discovered that someone had already done so using my name and SSN. My experience with unemployment has also been problematic. I was approved in March [redacted], received funds and a card, which was then stolen. When contacting EDD CA, I found out the information provided was incorrect due to a mistake made by a lady named Rabeca Bics. Despite reporting fraud and freezing my account with over $17,[redacted], I never received any unemployment payments. After months of trying, I finally reached EDD, only to learn that someone reopened my claim in January, with a balance of $0. I am frustrated by the situation and have been unable to obtain the necessary paperwork since reaching out on the 9th. It's been challenging, and I even faced homelessness with my sick mother. I urgently need assistance. Thank you, Nicole Higgins.

My name is Dennis A. Dawson. I need some help. Someone claimed to be coming to my house to give me money from the IRS but requested $12,[redacted] from me first. They said it was necessary for verification purposes. I am 67 years old, in physical pain, and finding it hard to communicate clearly. This person isn't being transparent about the process. I am struggling with pain in my body and mind, making it challenging to handle these demands. I am based in Tallahassee, FL, amidst this confusion. The situation has prolonged my house cleaning, causing me distress.

I am Dennis A. Dawson, aged 67 from Tallahassee. Recently, I gave out 5 cards to someone who claimed to be from the IRS and requested $[redacted] in cash. He has been calling me multiple times. However, due to my health condition as a retired individual, I struggle to communicate clearly and keep forgetting details. This person mentioned a large sum of money promised to me in Tallahassee, but I haven't received it yet. I feel unsure about the situation and plan to contact the IRS for clarification. If this individual is attempting to deceive me, then it seems I have made a mistake. I was informed I was entitled to $3.5 million from his company in Tallahassee, FL.

I was unable to access my online account and requested an activation code by mail. I received Notice CP301 with the code and instructions. I followed steps 1 to 3 successfully but when prompted for the activation code, I was redirected to a page requesting additional identity verification which I do not possess to proceed. I am now stuck in a loop. How can I access my online account to input my activation code and log in successfully? Thank you.

I recently received a tax bill for [redacted] and promptly sent a check on May 21, [redacted], for $2,[redacted].16. Despite this payment, I received another bill, followed by a notice of a lien on my assets. I promptly sent proof of payment through a return receipt to the Department of Treasury on June 24, [redacted]. Nevertheless, on September 28, [redacted], I received a notification stating that collections would proceed.
My attempts to contact the IRS and resolve this issue have been unsuccessful, as I have not been able to speak with a live person. This situation is not only frustrating but also damaging to my otherwise excellent credit history, jeopardizing the efforts I have made to maintain good standing.
I urge the IRS to address this matter promptly and would appreciate a prompt resolution.

I recently came across form CP3219A and I am unsure about the next steps. My late husband, John C., handled our tax matters and mentioned in a letter that the issue was resolved. Since his passing on 5/13/21, I discovered this form requesting $3,[redacted], which I cannot afford due to falling victim to a $[redacted],[redacted] hacking incident. I am struggling financially, unable to pay bills or prevent the possible loss of my home, as my accounts were drained by hackers. I am Joyce M., with a monthly income of around $3,[redacted], barely managing my expenses. I have been unsuccessful in reaching anyone for clarification on this form. I fear losing essential services like electricity without assistance. With no family or support, I am desperate for guidance on resolving this. Thank you for any help you can provide. Joyce M.

Recently, I received a letter from the IRS claiming I owe $3,[redacted] due to an increase in deficiency. My husband, who was handling our back taxes, made the final payment in early May and marked it as "PAID IN FULL." Sadly, he passed away shortly after on 5/13/21. Dealing with his loss and this unexpected IRS notice has left me feeling confused and emotionally overwhelmed.
To make matters worse, I discovered that all the money from John's insurance policies meant to help me buy a smaller house had been stolen from my bank accounts, totaling $[redacted],[redacted]. I now struggle to afford essential medications and even had to borrow money from a friend to fix my garage door. In addition, my debit card was unexpectedly closed, and I had to contact Wells Fargo to reinstate my account and issue a new card.
Living alone in Florida since [redacted] without any close family or children, I am facing tremendous financial strain and emotional hardship. I desperately need assistance to rebuild my life amid these challenging circumstances.
Thank you,

I have not received any of my stimulus payments or my child tax credits. I'm currently dealing with a child custody case due to misinformation from my ex during our divorce. I was defaulted, and he obtained full custody unexpectedly. My child support payments are becoming unmanageable, especially since I am on unemployment. Despite my unemployment office claiming I owe a significant sum, the IRS stated otherwise in a recent letter. I am seeking guidance on how to proceed and would appreciate assistance in receiving any owed funds. My youngest daughter, Mya, was claimed by me, while my ex claimed my oldest daughter, Kloe. I suspect my ex has not filed taxes to avoid his outstanding debt. His name is Kevin Janke (DOB: 07-13-[redacted]) and mine is Mindy Janke (DOB: 11-03-[redacted]), with a Social Security number ending in [redacted].

I filed my taxes for [redacted] on March 3rd, and I have not received any stimulus checks. I work as an in-home health care provider for IHSS in Taft, California. I was unable to e-file because someone previously tried to file for me without my knowledge, so I sent them by mail. I am in urgent need of assistance as my fiance recently passed away, leaving me responsible for all the bills. I managed this month, but I desperately need information about my tax return status and why I have not received any stimulus payments. I am hoping to visit the office on Coffee Rd in Bakersfield to confirm my identity. You can reach me at [redacted]. Thank you for helping me navigate this situation as I need to take care of my fiance's cremation and maintain my home. Thank you.

In April [redacted], I submitted my documents for a tax refund. I promptly received the state refund, but encountered an issue with federal taxes as I opted to have the refund sent to my address in Spain via mail check. To resolve the identification matter, I corresponded with the IRS, and by November [redacted], the matter was cleared up after a phone call. They assured me the refund would arrive by February [redacted]. Presently, I have not received it, and online tracking indicates it has been processed. I am concerned about the delay, considering more than six months have passed. I am seeking guidance on the anticipated wait time. Thank you. Best regards, Jaime.
