I need help contacting the Payroll Division managed by Carla Santos to obtain my previous W2s and paystubs. I'm waiting for a response from the store manager in Middletown as well, who has been waiting for a reply from headquarters in Boston for over a week now. I need assistance with this issue to proceed with an appeal to the Social Security Administration. If you can direct me to the right person who can help me retrieve my work history at Stop & Shop in Middletown, Connecticut over the past 14 years, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Scott Erickson

Your in-store robots and self-service checkout at the grocery store are unsettling and inconvenient for me. I feel that American jobs are being lost due to this automated system, impacting the overall shopping experience. I prefer a different grocery chain that offers lower prices, especially on organic products, and solely employs checkout personnel. Unlike Stop & Shop, this chain doesn't cut costs by expecting customers to pack their bags and doesn't offer discounts for using self-checkout. It appears that Stop & Shop is prioritizing profits over customer savings. To improve, Stop & Shop could consider smaller human-operated locations without robots, increase organic options, offer discounts for self-bagging, and lower prices. Additionally, eliminating mask mandates may be beneficial. Keeping a separate facility for delivery and focusing on customer service could lead to a more successful business model that values customers above profits.

I am disappointed by the poor quality of the 5-cent bags you offer. The bags lack handles, which makes them difficult to carry without tearing due to their thin material. This forces customers to double-bag items, costing an extra 5 cents. The inferior quality and lack of handles are unacceptable. As a New Yorker, I feel the need to express my dissatisfaction - the bags you provide are subpar, and you should improve them.

I visited the store located at [redacted] Atlantic Ave in Oceanside after seeing an advertisement for St. Louis style ribs priced at $1.99 per pound. However, upon arrival, there were no St. Louis ribs available, only regular spare ribs. I am disappointed as this seems like a bait-and-switch tactic since St. Louis ribs are a higher quality, pricier cut. The meat manager, Peter, acknowledged that they were not St. Louis ribs and mentioned they received the wrong shipment. I have noticed a decline in store quality at Stop and Shop due to poorly stocked shelves, incorrect pricing, and lacking price tags. I have raised these concerns with management, but the issues persist. I would like to know how this misleading advertising will be addressed to ensure transparency for customers.

I shop at Stop and Shop on Route [redacted] in West Babylon. Since the recent renovation of the store, I've noticed that several items from Stop and Shop's own brand that I used to buy are no longer available. These include Stop and Shop Frozen Egg/Sausage Sandwiches and other variations, Stop and Shop Instant Rice in White or Brown, Stop and Shop Instant Puddings or Gelatin Desserts, and Stop and Shop Espresso Grind Coffee cans. These products were regularly on my shopping list and were affordable for seniors on fixed incomes. The disappearance of these items is concerning. However, I do appreciate the helpfulness of the GO rewards program, which is beneficial for those of us watching our expenses closely.

Recently, I visited Stop and Shop in New Dorp, Staten Island. Initially, I had a negative experience that turned out to be a misunderstanding. I had misjudged the manager, Mr. Chiam, but he was incredibly helpful. During our interaction, I mentioned auditioning for America's Got Talent as a comedian. Surprisingly, he allowed me to perform my 90-second act in the store. It was a memorable moment, especially when he shared his personal weight loss journey with me. I was impressed by his kindness and willingness to engage with customers beyond typical store matters. I wanted to express my appreciation for his exceptional customer service and genuine interaction. I hope he receives recognition for his outstanding efforts. If possible, please share with him that this feedback is from the comedian who auditioned for America's Got Talent. Thank you.

I am writing because I tried to contact you by phone but couldn't reach anyone. On Monday, April 26, [redacted], I visited Stop & Shop at [redacted] Kitts Ln. While shopping, I overheard two managers discussing an employee, which I found unprofessional and concerning. Chelsie, one of the managers, was speaking inappropriately about the employee's personal life. I believe it is against the law and very unprofessional for a manager to discuss an employee without their presence. I feel disappointed by this behavior and believe it warrants corrective action. The employee in question was named Jaz, and I think Chelsie should undergo retraining to understand the legal implications of her actions. Thank you.

I have been shopping at this location on [redacted] Lakewood Road, Toms River, NJ [redacted] for the past 5 years. I feel there is a lack of item quantity. For example, I visited on Friday, April 30th, [redacted], between 2:30 pm-3:30 pm, and there were no diet Caffeine-Free sodas available. Most of the shelves were not stocked, even though I know they have them in the back. This is not the first time this has happened. Additionally, there seems to be a very limited amount of varieties in this store while I am aware there are more options available. For instance, I used to find Coca-Cola Zero Caffeine-Free at this store, but now I can't find it anymore. I am now left with only diet coke and diet sprite. Even Fresca is hard to find. Could you please consider adding more variety to this store?
Thank you.

For quite some time, Stop and Shop carried a superb range of pasta sauces under their own label. Originally named "Simply Enjoy" and later rebranded as "Inspirations," these sauces were a kitchen staple for us. What set them apart was their sugar-free recipe, particularly in the flavors we enjoyed like eggplant, garlic mushroom, tomato basil, and marinara. Unfortunately, the Inspirations sauces have recently vanished from the shelves, with new replacements gradually appearing. The downside is that the new sauces now contain sugar, making them unsuitable for my daughter and me. Additionally, the inclusion of sugar suggests the possibility of using lower quality tomatoes. This shift has turned Stop and Shop's private label into just another brand of basic commercial sauces that we tend to avoid. The distinctive Sicilian eggplant sauce, in particular, was a favorite. I genuinely hope they reconsider and reintroduce the original sauces.

As a subscriber to the Boston Globe in Franklin, I receive a food ad insert on Thursdays featuring various supermarkets. I particularly shop at Stop and Shop, a local supermarket included in the insert. Unfortunately, the Stop and Shop ad is frequently missing while ads from supermarkets like Roche Bros and Price Chopper, which are far from Franklin, are included. This has occurred about 3-4 times in the past couple of months, with a temporary fix made at one point only for the problem to resurface. I kindly request that the Stop and Shop flier be included routinely. Thank you. - Judy F.

I'm really concerned about the decision to transfer Marlon Rosendary from the West Caldwell store to South Orange. Marlon has been an outstanding employee in the produce department for a decade, bringing positivity, excellent service, and a friendly attitude to customers. It feels unjust to relocate him after his long-standing commitment to Store #[redacted]. Despite any seniority policies, his dedication and connection to the community should be valued. As a regular customer at Stop and Shop, I am truly disappointed in this decision. The possibility of having to shop elsewhere due to this lack of loyalty to a dedicated staff member is disheartening. The impact of this move on both Marlon and the West Caldwell store's atmosphere should be reconsidered. I seek a fair reconsideration of this decision.

Dear S&S Consumer Affairs,
I have been a loyal customer since your South Setauket, NY supermarket opened. The products are great, but it's your exceptional staff that truly make the difference.
Manager Cathy Giffo has always been there to answer my questions and solve any issues, even from her early days as a cashier. In addition, many staff members have supported my son over the years.
During challenges like Covid and snowstorms, S&S has always come to my aid, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Yesterday, I had a fantastic experience with Kashmir. Despite my difficulty with online access, she greeted me warmly, asked about my shopping, loaded my groceries, and made me feel genuinely cared for.
Hiring such outstanding people shows how much you care about your customers, making us feel like part of a good family. Thank you for providing such excellent service.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Valerio

I am disappointed with the pre-packaged meat you sell. The quality is poor with unappealing cuts and excessive fat. I miss the personal touch of requesting specific cuts from the meat cutters. Despite having a nearby store, I prefer traveling further to other stores or local butcher shops for better quality. This change is a significant mistake by S&S as it drives customers like me to shop elsewhere for the meats we desire. It is disheartening that S&S is neglecting customer needs.

I recently visited the Stop and Shop in Oyster Bay, NY and encountered a very unpleasant employee at the self-checkout. While purchasing wine with my husband, she requested my ID, which I had to retrieve from my car. Upon my return, she rudely demanded to see my ID, entered my information, and dismissively asked me to move on. I couldn't help but notice her attitude changed for the worse after seeing my gay pride band. Is this the behavior tolerated by your company? Is it acceptable to have such disrespectful employees, especially during Pride month? Furthermore, I found it frustrating to have to pay for a bag when the store had none available for purchase. Could a staff member provide assistance with this situation, or should I provide my receipt for review?

While shopping at Store #36 located at [redacted] Memorial Drive in Chicopee, Massachusetts [redacted], I purchased deli meat around 12:30pm and checked out at 12:44pm. I waited in the store until 2:54pm, growing concerned about the deli meat. When I inquired, the deli employee reassured me. After reconsidering, I spoke to customer service, who promptly issued me a refund. I then went back to the deli to reorder the meat. Despite encountering an employee who seemed frustrated, I maintained my composure and handled the situation calmly. I notified the store manager about the incident. I hope that the staff member's behavior is addressed appropriately, and I expect an apology for the unwarranted treatment I received.

I reside in Waterford, CT near the Stop & Shop gas station on the corner of Route 1 & Vivian Street at #16. The fence across my home in the gas station property was recently graffiti-tagged, noticed yesterday. It's unsightly. Could we have it cleaned promptly? There's also an excessive amount of poison ivy spreading over the fence onto the sidewalk, posing a public hazard. I informed the Waterford, CT Police Department about the graffiti, and they are aware of the poison ivy issue. As a loyal Stop & Shop customer, I urge for swift action to address these concerns.

Yesterday, I purchased ground turkey on the way home from work, a nice change of pace. I got the Nature Promise 16oz package, which was on a buy one get one free deal for $4.99. When my total rang up as $42, I asked about using my Stop and Shop card at the register. Later, I noticed the receipt listed 99% fat free turkey at $6.99 each instead of the 94% fat free turkey I purchased. I paid $13.98 for the turkey. After calling the store, I was told to bring the receipt in. When I went back, the young man at the courtesy desk initially didn't believe me, but the manager intervened and refunded me $8.99. As a caregiver for my husband, I didn't need the added stress. Despite this experience, I typically spend a lot at the store and will likely switch back to ordering online for pickup.

I had a frustrating experience at the Stop & Shop in Willimantic, CT that I need to address. Using the automatic checkout was difficult due to a new weight sensor process. After needing assistance multiple times, I had to line up for help from a live attendant. The store's modified scan stations now have a weight sensor and unfamiliar sequence that caused further problems. It was not user-friendly and made me feel like a thief when I complained to a manager. These changes could drive customers away. How will you address these issues?

I have been a loyal customer at Stop and Shop in Washingtonville, N.Y. since its opening, being close to my home. Unfortunately, one particular female employee consistently fails to greet me or say basic pleasantries when I check out, unlike the other friendly cashiers. Despite witnessing her engage pleasantly with other customers, her behavior towards me makes me uncomfortable. As a senior citizen of Asian descent, I feel unwelcome and have started avoiding shopping there whenever possible. While I prefer your store's brands, I will now be exploring other options due to this experience.

I recently purchased a 5 lb. bag of red potatoes online and picked them up at my local Stop and Shop. Tonight, I was unable to use the potatoes as they were rotten, soft, and covered in white spots. I am requesting a full refund for these potatoes. Additionally, my last order included two large containers of strawberries that were covered in white, fuzzy mold the next day. Both containers had to be thrown out. This experience is disappointing, and I expect fresh produce when shopping with you. Please refund the money for the potatoes.
