I'm seeking a professional opinion regarding my 36-year-old Rheem air conditioning unit. Surprisingly, the compressor recently failed, making it the only part that needed replacement after all these years. I am currently working with my home warranty company, who have sent multiple technicians to evaluate the unit. The second technician found that the coils are deteriorating and advised against solely replacing the compressor, as the new one would have to overwork due to the condition of the coils and might fail prematurely. Despite my discussions with the warranty company since August 31, [redacted], they are hesitant to replace the unit. Considering the age of the air conditioner, I am inclined to replace it with another Rheem unit, given its impressive durability. I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter. I purchased two Rheem furnaces (R96VA[redacted]MSA W[redacted]87) back in August [redacted], one for the basement and one for the main floor, both with 10-year warranties. The issue began in January [redacted] when the basement furnace stopped working, showing error code 57 for a malfunctioning high pressure switch. ARS in Raleigh NC serviced it by replacing the switch under warranty but charged $[redacted] for labor. In November [redacted], the same problem occurred with the main floor furnace, necessitating another high pressure switch replacement. Despite the warranties, having both switches fail after only 4 years cost me over $[redacted] in total. I suspect a manufacturing defect as they failed at the same time, and I believe Rheem should cover the costs for the faulty parts.

I purchased a RUUD water heater in December [redacted] and had it installed in February [redacted]. While I was in Canada, my tenant informed me in June that the water heater was leaking badly. Upon inspection on November 15, [redacted], I noticed significant leaks at the inlet, outlet, and even at the electric connection box when water was turned on. The dealer, Clarence Thomas Ltd in Tortola, BVI, where I purchased it, claims they are unable to help. I am wondering if there is a possibility for repair or if the water heater is completely unusable after just four months. Does Rheem or Ruud offer any warranty for such issues? Interestingly, my other water heater, a Bradford White PSCC, has been working trouble-free for almost two decades.

Around 18 months ago, I had a Rheem rtex24 tankless water heater installed by Jimmy Lumney Plumbing in a house that is currently undergoing renovations. Recently, I noticed that the light no longer comes on when I turn on the hot water, even though it was working fine just a couple of months ago. An electrician confirmed that the power supply is not the issue. Jimmy Lumney has mentioned that he is unable to repair it and advised me to contact a Rheem service representative. I am now looking for information on who the Rheem service representative is for the Panama City Florida area. Thank you.

I purchased a 50-gallon Rheem water heater from a local distributor in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, on October 20, [redacted]. Unfortunately, last week on December 10, [redacted], the heater stopped working. I reached out to SAMNAN, the sole agent for Rheem water heaters, on December 12, [redacted], for assistance. To my disappointment, I was informed that they only had one technician available who was [redacted] km away in Tabouk, and if I was lucky, the technician might be able to visit me on Tuesday, December 17, [redacted]. This level of service is not acceptable, in my opinion. I look forward to hearing from your company.

I have an unusual question regarding replacing my heat pumps in Arizona. I have received bids from four contractors for 2-stage compressors and variable speed air handlers. The most competitive offer is for a Rheem system. However, my concern lies with the fact that this particular contractor has 25 years of experience but only recently started his business in [redacted]. In case his business does not succeed, I am wondering if other Rheem dealers/contractors would still honor the 10-year factory warranty on components.

I recently bought Rheem Air Filters from "Home Depot." Unfortunately, I've found the quality to be poor. I typically change my air filters every two months, especially in hot weather when the unit runs more frequently. The Rheem Air Filters seem flimsy to me and are made of cheap paper that falls apart easily compared to other filters made with cardboard. I believe investing in higher-quality filters is essential, as frequent breakdowns can become costly. I'm interested in upgrading to a better set of Rheem Air Filters. I was informed that I would be receiving a reimbursement for the cost difference to replace the defective Rheem water heater that caused a fire as detailed in my previous email. Despite the agreement for the reimbursement, I have received conflicting information and forms from your company. My husband and I simply want the agreed-upon reimbursement and do not accept the offer to reduce the warranty in exchange for a small amount. We paid the difference in good faith, expecting a timely refund as discussed. We are disappointed by the delay and the reduced amount you are now offering. There was no mention of an investigation during our initial conversation. We request the full amount of $[redacted].91 to be promptly reimbursed as originally promised, without any further negotiation. We find this to be a fair and reasonable request based on our original agreement with your company. We also seek clarification on the changing case numbers for our reference. I discovered water leaking from my Rheem Classic 95% High Efficiency Gas Furnace Model # RGRC-07EMAES, installed on 7/10/[redacted]. Upon turning off the AC, the leakage stopped. Thankfully, I caught this in time before it caused major damage. The water was pooling and dripping onto the floor from the top part of the furnace. Although it's still cooling the house, I fear it won't last.
I value Rheem's reputation and the warranty on my furnace. I urgently need guidance as we're without AC. My pet dog is also struggling with the heat. Your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I bought a new Rheem Central Air Unit in [redacted], thinking it was the best choice. However, every year since, I've faced new problems, each service visit costing $[redacted] - $[redacted]. Replacing oxidized parts became a regular expense. Now, in the 10th season and mid-summer, I tried to use the unit again, only to be informed by my serviceman that it might need replacement! This situation is frustrating as my previous unit lasted over 30 years. I am disappointed with the constant issues.

I had a Rheem AC and furnace installed in June [redacted] by Florida Home Air Conditioning in Jacksonville, FL. To Whom It May Concern, I recently purchased a Rheem 16 SEER split system based on high recommendations. Unfortunately, after the unit was installed, it stopped working after just three weeks. The service team confirmed that the compressor was locked up and mentioned they would get back to me. About a week later, I followed up, and they stated they were waiting for the distributor to determine if they would replace the outside unit, which is understandably frustrating considering the system's brief duration. After another week, I provided the necessary information for the replacement, but I was informed that there were difficulties acquiring the unit. It has now been three weeks without a functioning unit that was paid for in full. While I try to be patient, I am seeking some clarity on why this process is prolonged, especially with the unit being under warranty. I have four direct vent instantaneous water heaters, with one unit having three slave units attached. During the descaling process, two of the units were successfully descaled, but the other two did not allow the descaling solution to flow through them, even though they were connected the same way as the first two.
My initial suspicion was a closed or faulty inlet control valve, despite having sufficient municipal water pressure. The recirculation pump also failed to push the solution through the units in question. The model number is RTGH 95DVLN.

I purchased a Rheem water heater back in November [redacted] and have been experiencing a loud rumbling noise from the bottom of it for the last couple of years. The model is XG50T12HE40U0, with serial number M[redacted]76. The noise occurs when using hot water in the washing machine and flushing a toilet, lasting about 5 seconds and heard throughout the house. I tried Rheem's suggestion of draining and refilling the water heater multiple times, but it didn't help. The water heater receives cold water from a softener at a pressure of 50 psi or lower. This noise issue started about 2 years ago, even though it was fine for several years prior. Any advice on how to resolve this persistent problem would be greatly appreciated.

I have a customer with the following unit: model number RKKb-A090CL15E, serial number 2F6329ADAAF[redacted]29, located on Long Island, NY.
After a service call reporting that the space wasn't staying warm, I discovered that one inducer draft motor was burnt out, operating at half capacity. Even after replacing it and having both stages ignite, the building's space remains chilly. Temperature readings show air coming out of the vents at 55-67 degrees. Despite low ambient temperatures and single-digit wind chills, this hasn't been a problem before.
Not all vents have proper airflow; some feel like drafts rather than heat. The blower wheel is rotating correctly, with minimal belt deflection when not in use.
I've checked for potential issues but need additional guidance on how to resolve this problem for my customer.

I attempted to contact the phone numbers provided in the booklet regarding my Rheem hot water tank to inquire about the warranty dated 9/10/15 due to a leak. Unfortunately, the phone line was continuously busy despite multiple attempts. As a result, I purchased a new Rheem hot water tank but was unable to register the new warranty by phone for the same reason. This situation is particularly frustrating for individuals without access to computers, especially seniors.
Having worked in banking throughout my career, I find it unacceptable that a functional phone number was not provided. The lack of options to leave a message or wait on hold for an agent is disappointing. The constant busy signal without any resolution forced me to purchase a new tank with six months left on the warranty.
I spent two full days calling without success, consistently encountering the same issue outlined above. If asked to rate the customer service provided, it would undoubtedly be the lowest score possible.
