Subject: Issue with Storage Unit Reservation #[redacted]51
Hello,
I made a reservation at your facility for a storage unit, but there was a problem when I arrived. The employee on-site couldn't grant access to the storage unit initially booked online. Despite assigning me a similar unit, the $[redacted] rate was not reflecting in the system – resulting in a charge of $[redacted].
I was assured that once the District Manager updates the rate in your system, it will be adjusted back to $[redacted]. However, I was informed this process could take up to 30 days, which seems excessive in this day and age.
I kindly request prompt assistance to resolve this issue. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience.
Thank you,
A.D.

I recently rented a storage unit at the Lisle, Illinois location on February 22nd. After calling the facility last week to inquire about my payment due date, I was informed by a female staff member that it was March 22nd. However, the property manager, Erik, left me a voicemail stating it was due on March 21st. Today, when I called to pay the prorated amount of $18.93 as I thought, Erik mentioned I owe $38.93 due to missing the payment deadline yesterday. I believe this discrepancy is unfair as I received conflicting information from your team members. I've only had the unit for a month, and I feel unjust having to pay a $20 late fee for a miscommunication.

I tried to arrange a move out online before the first of the month, as I am leaving due to a domestic violence situation. I planned to move on the 5th with help from my cousins, but discovered a second lock on my unit when we arrived. Customer service said they wouldn't add a lock until the 12th. Public Storage expects me to pay for a full month even though I pre-informed them and will have nothing in the unit, and they refuse to prorate the rent. I am frustrated by their lack of empathy in this sensitive situation. I intend to share my experience on various social media platforms to warn others. Trying to leave California quickly and quietly to ensure my safety makes this even more challenging. It's disappointing to be treated this way after being a customer for over a year. I will refrain from using Public Storage in the future.

I am a customer at Auburn Street Public Storage. I was waiting for the gate to open at six, not realizing it was already open. I was resting in my van when a representative approached me, insisting that I couldn't sleep there. I explained I wasn't sleeping, just waiting for the gate to open, but she was rude and repeated that I couldn't sleep there. She then banned me from the property outside of business hours. I pay to store my things there, and it's frustrating not being able to access my unit without her presence. After eight months with your company, I am disappointed with the service. The lady was very rude and didn't listen. She even made me wait off the property until the office opened.

I moved out of a storage facility in Alexandria, VA on February 2, [redacted], after informing them. Upon arrival, the office was empty, and I found the roof had collapsed on my items in the unit. I left a voicemail before removing my belongings. Even after contacting the office and corporate, I received a bill for a month's storage. Attempts to resolve this with the office went unanswered. Now I have a collection notice from Allied Interstate on behalf of Public Storage. I am frustrated with their poor customer service and how they are handling this. I am considering legal action if necessary to address this unfair situation, as it feels like theft.

My experience at the [redacted] Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh Public Storage was extremely unprofessional. I arrived before the stated return time of 3:30pm but no one came back to the office even by 4pm. Upon receiving a call from Antonio, who was rude and accused me of misreading the sign indicating his return time at 4:30pm (while I had another person with me who can confirm the actual time on the sign), I was taken aback by the disrespect. It's concerning that this behavior is deemed acceptable. The inaccuracies on the sign along with the discourteous treatment make me question continuing to use Public Storage. I hope for an apology for the way I was treated and the inconvenience of waiting for over 45 minutes during their business hours.

After falling behind on my storage payments, the unit was in default and set for auction. Despite receiving an email on May 23, [redacted], instructing me to pay within five days, I only called on the 27th to settle the bill. Shockingly, upon calling, I was informed by a representative at the storage facility that the auction had already happened earlier that day. She advised contacting the district manager, Robert, whose number she provided. Despite persistent calls to Robert since the 27th, I have yet to receive a response or callback. My primary concern is retrieving my personal documents and photographs stored in the unit, especially since I did not anticipate its sale. I urgently need the contact information of the buyer to retrieve my important paperwork before it's discarded. This situation poses a risk of identity theft, given the sensitive information in those documents. Thank you.

I rent a unit at Public Storage in Sacramento, CA, located on Albatross and Frienza. My unit number is D189, and my manager's name is Yolanda. After contacting her, she informed me that I needed to pay $[redacted].43. However, when I spoke to her again today to confirm I will be coming in with the full payment, she mentioned the total is now $[redacted].00 due to an additional month's rent and a new lien of $55.00. Due to financial difficulties, I need to downsize from a 10x10 unit to a 5x10. My boyfriend's SSI check was paused for 60 days, causing a delay in payment. I have the full amount of $[redacted].48 but the manager mentioned she cannot waive any fees or offer assistance. The unit contains belongings of sentimental value from my late mother, and I urgently need to resolve this issue. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated. - Emilio Mendes

I would like to address an issue I faced at unit [redacted] in Public Storage located at [redacted] Alma Dr. in Plano, Texas. The property manager is consistently absent from the office and the premises. Upon visiting the office today, I found it unstaffed, with only maintenance workers present. They were discourteous and claimed the office was closed. When inquiring about the manager's return, they responded rudely, implying they were irritated and uninterested. The frequent turnover of property managers at this location is concerning as each visit introduces a new manager. It would greatly improve the service if the manager maintained a more constant presence or adhered to the communicated office hours.

I arranged for my storage fee to be deducted from my account monthly. However, last month it was debited on June 11 instead of the usual timeframe, resulting in an overdraft. I have now reset the payment deduction, and I am concerned about the timing of the next withdrawal to avoid any further issues or double payments this month. The address of the storage facility is Public Storage at [redacted] Snapfinger Rd., Decatur, GA [redacted].

I arrived at the property precisely at 4:54 p.m. and faced issues accessing my unit. The manager refused to let me reach my unit and walked away as I explained the situation of my car being locked inside due to the gate closure. Despite my insistence and needing just a quick item from the unit, she claimed I was not being truthful. After a brief argument, she eventually allowed me to retrieve my car. I intend to file a complaint as I always arrive on time and had a legitimate need to access my unit promptly. This incident has never been a problem before, and I typically leave by 5 or 5:30 p.m. My details are as follows: Jasen Walsh, a loyal customer of CD with the contact number [redacted] and email [redacted]

I am experiencing difficulties retrieving my belongings due to a female staff member who seemingly has a negative attitude. She has been uncooperative and blocking my access to my items. I am feeling harassed and mistreated by her behavior. I kindly request assistance in resolving this matter promptly.

Hello, my name is Juan, and today I went to a Public Storage facility in Everett, Washington, where my wife rented two storage units three months ago. The storage units are used to store equipment for her company, which I am not involved in. She asked me to accompany the people who were going to unload the equipment. The staff told me it was okay, but when we went today for her to remove me as a manager, the establishment's manager said she couldn't remove me. We were told we needed to take out the equipment, deliver it back in, or find another place to store it if we didn't agree with their policy. I would like to know how to verify their policy and report their rude and arrogant behavior towards us. My wife simply wanted me to be removed as a manager since I have no involvement in her company. I would appreciate any help you can provide.

I recently moved out of my rented unit at Public Storage on Mastin Street in Overland Park, KS on July 31. I made sure to clean the unit and remove my lock as required. On the same day, around 4:50 pm, I visited the office intending to have them check my unit before the scheduled closing time of 6 pm. Unfortunately, there was a sign indicating that they were out of the office until 5:30 pm, so I had to leave a voicemail. Despite calling again at 5:30 pm and leaving another message about the urgency of checking my unit to avoid being billed for August, it seems that it was not done as I received a past due bill for August on Aug. 1. I have been facing issues reaching the store by phone as the options provided do not recognize my account details, leading to a dead end or disconnection. I kindly request that the erroneous August bill be rectified as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Best regards,
Gina H.

I made a payment for my unit on 10/03/19 through autopay which was later declined. After contacting Direct Express for my SSDI payment, the refund was not credited back to my card. I then withdrew the remaining balance to pay in person and was informed by the manager that I was paid up until 10/31/19, although I did not receive an email confirmation. Despite this, I found myself locked out on 10/08/19 due to autopay failure. Frustratingly, this is the second time this issue has occurred within a month. The facility insists on immediate payment or potential consequences. Feeling helpless and confused about the situation at Public Storage on Seminary Drive in Fort Worth, TX ([redacted]), I seek guidance on how to resolve this matter.

I have been unable to access my storage unit for nearly six months due to a faulty door and lock changes with the new management. Despite notifying them of my situation, the payment increase starting on November 1st was still applied to my automatic payment of $[redacted]. I reached out to the property manager over two weeks ago to address this issue, but no action has been taken, and my payment was deducted without any resolution. I have been trying to reach the property manager, leaving multiple messages, without success. I had planned to move my unit four months ago due to the impending increase but couldn't do so without access. I have decided to escalate this matter to the Corporate Offices for a resolution as I have been paying over $[redacted] monthly for a unit I cannot even use. Please contact me promptly to address this situation.

My credit card was stolen, and I had to replace it. Currently, I am unable to reach out to Public Storage in Sacramento, California, located on 16th Street to update my payment information. Failure to make the payment (now overdue) might result in them clearing out my storage unit. The area has some safety concerns, and my belongings hold sentimental value to me. My situation is especially urgent since I am currently in Bali, which is about 17 hours ahead of California time, making it challenging to contact Public Storage directly. I have a new card and sufficient funds available. I am seeking assistance to ensure that my belongings are not removed from the storage unit due to payment issues.

I drove five hours to reach here to find the elevator on the second floor broken. I have around 25 boxes to move into storage and cannot carry them up the stairs one by one. Despite my efforts to contact the company, I keep getting transferred to different numbers, all belonging to people named Jonathan, with no solution in sight. The lack of professionalism displayed by the company's representatives is frustrating. I am so displeased that I have to consider renting a hotel room to avoid another five-hour drive. I hope for a prompt response. - Debora N.
