I was denied unemployment benefits after being furloughed due to the coronavirus outbreak at my job. Living with my girlfriend, her sister, and mom, all with asthma, I can't risk bringing the virus home to them. Even though I took precautions at work, my application was denied due to the belief that I voluntarily quit from previous jobs. My girlfriend, who has held more jobs than me, was approved for benefits. The fact that she was approved while I was denied, despite the serious health risk to my household, is troubling. I am considering filing an appeal to address this situation.

I work three jobs to sustain myself. One is as a traditional employee, and the others involve businesses I own. Unfortunately, my hours at my W-2 job have been reduced to just one day per week, and my two transportation businesses are struggling due to the current situation leading to a lack of transport opportunities. I applied for unemployment benefits four weeks ago but haven't received any feedback since April 30, and my claims are still pending without any financial support. Surprisingly, the amount suggested in my claim is below the federal minimum of $[redacted]. Should I be eligible for the PUA for my self-owned businesses? I applied for regular unemployment for all three jobs initially, but could this be causing the delay in processing my claim?

I am experiencing similar issues with the Ohio unemployment agency amid the Covid-19 pandemic, as many others have described. Despite meeting all the requirements initially, my weekly claims keep getting denied. I have lodged two appeals, and while I have received an acknowledgment email, I have not received any further communication via regular mail. I am concerned that I may have made an error in filling out the forms. It is frustrating not hearing back from the agency or being able to discuss the matter directly with someone. I am seeking guidance on how to reach a representative in person to address this issue. I do not need additional online resources, as the agency's phone system already covers much of that information. Thank you!

I have been attempting to contact someone regarding an eligibility concern. On 4/21/20, I faxed four pages to Unemployment from Germantown Fresh Market at a cost of $4. All requested information was faxed. I filled out the employer's name, address, federal tax ID, and the income which was missing from 1/1/20 through 3/31/20. I only worked for Northmont City Schools. I have not worked for Valley View Local Schools for several years or Miamisburg City Schools for at least a year. I sent a paydate earnings register (some pay stubs were missing, so this register included all pay earnings) obtained directly from Northmont City Schools. I would appreciate a response, a phone call, or a number where I can speak to a live representative. My job ended due to school closures and will not resume until schools are open five days a week. I need a resolution to apply for federal unemployment if necessary. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Sincerely, Pamela A. Oakley

My Ohio Unemployment benefits have been on hold for 10 weeks because of a reemployment task that needs to be completed. The task was supposed to be done in December [redacted], before I started filing for unemployment in March [redacted]. I tried to resolve this by speaking to a representative on the phone, and they mentioned it would be fixed so I could finish the task and receive my pay. Unfortunately, the issue persists, and I have been unsuccessful in reaching a live person over the phone for further assistance.

During the fourth week, I encountered issues filing my claim due to my employer not submitting their part. After speaking with a representative who processed one claim for payment, three others showed a "break in claims" error. Now, on another fourth week, I am still unable to file for the last week. The agency has not been helpful. Each call ends with apologies and no resolution, just promises that the processing department will reach out, which has not happened. I have also sent multiple emails to the agency seeking assistance.

I applied for unemployment benefits in Ohio, but unfortunately, my application was denied. When I tried to pre-register for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) yesterday, I encountered an issue. They stated that I couldn't receive PUA because I am eligible for regular unemployment insurance payments, which is confusing since my initial unemployment claim was denied. I really need to speak to a live representative to clarify this situation. I have been out of work since March 17 and was supposed to return on March 20, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been unable to work.

I mistakenly applied for unemployment under Jack’s Casino instead of Hard Rock Casino, who took over in May [redacted]. I fear my initial application is being deemed ineligible due to this error. Additionally, I was furloughed and paid until 4/23/20, during which time I tried to file my claim. I now understand why it was rejected then, but I am currently unable to reach the unemployment office to inquire about my current ineligibility. I am now without income and struggling to receive unemployment benefits. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I was approved for part-time unemployment in Ohio and received payment on 5/4, dating back to 3/21. However, for the week of 3/28, it shows as denied due to an overpayment. From 4/4 to 5/09, there is a break in my claim, and after looking it up, it said I won't receive payment for that week. I made sure to file everything correctly for the first two weeks. Despite stating I wasn't available for work, Ohio Unemployment Services informed me via email that I needed to declare availability for work. I filed an appeal on their website yesterday, but the phone line is constantly busy.

I require assistance in speaking to a representative at the unemployment office. I have been attempting to apply for unemployment benefits without success for several weeks. After being denied regular unemployment due to inadequate work history before the furlough, I believe I am eligible for the new PUA program. However, I am unable to apply because of existing benefits from a previous unsuccessful attempt. When I call, there is no option to hold, and the automated message states there is high call volume without the possibility of waiting on the line. I am willing to hold for as long as necessary if it means speaking to someone who can assist me. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I encountered significant challenges filing for unemployment since the Stay at Home order began. The process was so difficult that it prevented me from applying for the weeks I was not working. When I eventually managed to file, I received benefits only starting from May 13, even though I was off work from April 4 to May 13 due to Covid-19. I also haven't received the $[redacted] in additional benefits owed to me. My Ohio office is in Lima, Ohio. Despite attempts to access the Cares Act site for unemployment, I had to rely on the Ohio unemployment office, which approved my claim from May 13, [redacted]. Although I have returned to work now that the company has resumed production, I have not received any benefits for the period I was off due to the virus. Struggling with accessing support due to crashed websites, long call hold times, and unavailability of office staff to assist, I only managed to resolve this past weekend. Despite being told I couldn't sign up for the Cares Act site since I am already receiving benefits through the regular unemployment site, no one clarified how I could receive the $[redacted] additional benefit or report the weeks I was unemployed accurately. What steps should I take now?

I am looking for assistance on how to file for weeks of unemployment that I was unable to submit due to issues with the online site and phone lines. Despite my attempts to contact the Lima, Ohio office without success, I need to claim the weeks when I was out of work because my employer was mandated to close because of Covid-19. I have returned to work now but require guidance on receiving back pay for the weeks I missed, as well as the $[redacted] additional weekly payment provided by the Cares Act. The weeks I need to claim are from April 4, [redacted], to May 10, [redacted]. My employer is NEX, a division of Honda located in East Liberty, Ohio. Your help in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, A. Potter.

I claimed unemployment for the weeks of 5/2/20 & 5/9/20 without a break. I filed for both weeks but haven't received the last two payments. The most recent payment I got was on 4/30/20. I've faxed the unemployment office 9 times and keep getting disconnected when I call during the past 7 days due to high call volume, even when calling right at 7am when they open. My claimant number is [redacted]33. I was laid off in late March and have filed every week. Thank you, T.M. Email: [redacted]

I am experiencing issues filing for Ohio unemployment as I need to reset my PIN. Whenever I try to do this online, I am instructed to call. Yet, when I call, a recording says they are unable to take calls and to go online. This back and forth has been ongoing daily. Additionally, the system claims my DL number is incorrect, despite confirmation that it is accurate. I am feeling extremely frustrated. How can I connect with a live representative for assistance?

I received a notice informing me I have been rehired by my workplace, a restaurant operating at 25% capacity. Despite the rehiring, I have not been called back to work or added to the schedule. I need guidance on how to address a series of questions regarding my employment status, including recent hiring, failure to report employment, current employment status, and separation reporting. Should I answer "no," I am uncertain if I should complete the subsequent questions. The restaurant plans to eventually schedule everyone back, but I am still awaiting my return to work, which might take weeks or even months.

I submitted a request to extend my unemployment benefits and applied for the federal extended benefits due to the coronavirus situation. My initial claim on 5/06 showed a "break in claim" status, and the same happened with the claim I filed on 5/17. However, I am unsure of the reason behind this status. I have already checked my Inbox for any required documents to be completed before receiving my benefits, but I have not received any instructions apart from the approval letters for both regular unemployment and extended federal benefits. I would appreciate clarification on why the system shows a "break in claim" status despite my approval and timely filings. Thank you for your assistance.

I applied for unemployment on 3-19-20 after my job closed on 3-15-20 due to the coronavirus. After filing, I was supposed to get a temporary username and password, but I only received the password. This locked me out of my account for about 3 weeks until I could not reset my pin. After regaining access, I had to reopen my claim. I have submitted my weekly claims on time every week, but it shows payment withheld. My colleagues have received their payments along with the additional $[redacted] per week. I believe I might be on the wrong unemployment program; I should be under the PUA but seem to be under regular state benefits. I have been trying to reach a real person for over two months about this issue but have been unable to connect via phone. Since my job shut down, I have barely made any money. I really need assistance with this situation.

I need assistance with my pending unemployment account. I've been trying to log in on multiple occasions but my PIN is not working. When attempting to reset it, I noticed an outdated email address is associated with my account, preventing me from making necessary changes. Despite numerous attempts to contact customer service, I am unable to reach a live representative to address this issue. The automated system doesn't offer a solution for correcting my account information, making it crucial to speak with a customer service representative to resolve the matter promptly.

I mistakenly included holiday pay on my weekly claim for the week ending on 05/30/20. My employer had initially mentioned paying me for the holiday despite being laid off, but it turns out that I am not eligible for this payment. As a result, my benefits have been withheld for 2 weeks now. My claim for the week ending on 06/06/20 was accurate and did not include any holiday pay. I haven't had any earnings since my initial claim on May 3rd. I've been trying to reach out via phone calls and chats, but haven't received any responses. How can I resolve this issue?

I have been struggling to file for PUA for days. After a chat last evening, Ohio Unemployment tried to call me back while I was at a heart surgeon's office. When I listened to the message, they mentioned calling PUA, which I did at 3:22 PM. I explained my issue, and they transferred me to the Ohio Unemployment office. I waited on the line for about an hour, and then the phone system kept looping with a message about an operator not being available. I couldn't press 4 as requested, so I couldn't get through. I've been stuck in this frustrating cycle for days, unable to file my claim properly. PUA won't accept my claim because regular unemployment states that I have a pending claim. The PIN I'm using doesn't work in their system, making it impossible to reach anyone for help. I need assistance to resolve this issue promptly so I can submit my claim.
