Having difficulties certifying for unemployment benefits. Initially approved on June 5th and encountered errors when trying to certify online. Despite multiple attempts and calls to the unemployment claim center, issues persist. After being told multiple times that everything is fine, error messages continue on certification days. Various interactions with representatives led to conflicting information and unresolved errors. Currently faced with a prolonged process that is taking longer than expected, with no clear resolution in sight. Continually advised to keep trying to certify on scheduled days and to check for updates via email, despite ongoing challenges. The back-and-forth communication and lack of progress in resolving the errors are causing frustration and uncertainty regarding receiving entitled benefits.

My name is Peter K. At the end of March, my unemployment benefits were cut off along with the $[redacted] weekly payment. I am a substitute teacher and only worked 3 days earning $[redacted] for the week ending March 27, which is more than the $[redacted] weekly threshold. I have been attempting to resolve this issue but have been unable to reach anyone. With both myself and my wife currently unemployed, we are struggling to afford rent and provide for our family, including our two teenagers. We were hopeful to receive the additional $[redacted] per child from the recent government assistance. I am reaching out for assistance and hoping to resolve this urgent matter promptly.

When I first filed my claim, I was stuck in pending status for a long time. After speaking to a representative on the phone, I restarted my claim as advised. Despite being informed multiple times that I am owed $10,[redacted], I have yet to receive it. My unemployment benefits are about to end, and I am currently jobless due to memory issues from having had COVID-19. I need assistance as I can't recall things well. I lost my job because of too many absences related to the virus, and I'm puzzled about the delay in receiving the money owed to me, especially the back pay from May until August. Despite reassurances, the funds have not come through, and I am facing eviction soon. Thank you.

I have been receiving unemployment benefits for some time, specifically under the PUA program. Recently, I had a week where I only worked one hour and reported my earnings from that hour. I work as a pilates trainer at a gym, receiving payment per hour for one-on-one sessions, only when clients actually schedule sessions. Due to COVID and scheduling issues in August, a client canceled their session for the following week. Consequently, I earned only $31.91 for that particular week. When I tried to report no earnings for the following week due to the cancellation and the system prevented me from filing, stating that I had worked the previous week. This is accurate as I had no earnings that week. Given the uncertain hours as a trainer dependent on client schedules, I am in a difficult situation and urgently need this income to cover my bills as my PUA and unemployment benefits are coming to an end on 9/4. I currently have two weeks of unemployment pending as I attempted to resolve the reporting issue on 8/26/21.

Four weeks ago on August 9th (Monday), I received my $[redacted] PUA payment. I then certified online at 2pm as usual. However, the following Wednesday, I did not receive my payment. Upon checking my email, the confirmation stated I had been paid every week, but this time it said “Not Payable at This Time” and advised me to contact the NJ ReEmployment Center for more information. Despite having $3,[redacted].00 left in my Payable UE Account and being eligible until September 4th, my Claim status is filed. Despite trying to contact the ReEmployment Center numerous times, I have not been able to get through. I have also written letters and emails through the NJU site but have not received a response. I am unsure of what steps to take next as I continue to certify weekly without receiving my payment.

I applied for unemployment on 6/20/21 after my last day as a school bus driver on 6/19. Despite verifying my ID, my claim still shows "0" benefits. I managed to reach someone weeks ago who said they fixed an issue, but I've seen no progress since. The status message says they are waiting on wage information, but my company hasn't been contacted. I haven't received any emails or mail asking for more details. Although I can certify for benefits weekly with confirmation numbers, I haven't received any funds. I worked reduced hours 7/12/21-8/5/21 and reported my earnings. When I was laid off again, I was prompted to reopen my claim, which I tried unsuccessfully. My husband, a paraplegic cancer patient, and I rely on my unemployment benefits along with his SS income. I call daily when lines open but can't get through due to call volume. I reached out to Senator Dawn Marie Addiego for help. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I was laid off from my job on 8/13/21. I spoke with an agent on 8/15/22 by phone, Ms. Phillips again. She said I would receive 2 mail pieces from Unemployment regarding my benefits. I tried to access the certify area every Thursday but was unsuccessful over 10 times. I'm 63 years old, worked every day, paid my taxes, and contributed to Social Security and Unemployment. I believe the phone line at [redacted] #3 needs investigation as agents are not answering calls during morning, afternoon, or evening hours. Ms. Phillips mentioned her surprise that I reached her. I am awaiting information on my funds and have not been contacted for any interviews regarding full-time or part-time positions.

I had been receiving unemployment benefits due to the pandemic from March [redacted] until the third week of July [redacted]. However, I did not receive any benefits for the last week of July or for the entire month of August [redacted]. When I finally reached the unemployment office in the first week of August, a representative mentioned that I had mistakenly indicated that I was receiving a pension, which I am not. Despite her efforts to expedite the process, she mentioned it would take 4 weeks to receive my benefits. I have been unable to reach the office since then, experiencing difficulty accessing my account and resetting my password. I am feeling extremely frustrated as I continue to face financial challenges without any updates on my benefits.

Hello, I applied for unemployment on June 20, [redacted]. Despite following up weekly, I haven't received any checks. Upon speaking to a representative in late July [redacted], I was informed that my account had been locked due to a question regarding my training for a job. I explained I am in a training program at school and was assured that the issue would be resolved. The representative mentioned I should expect a check in 4 weeks. As of September 7, [redacted], I haven't received any payment or communication. Despite multiple daily calls, I am unable to reach anyone for assistance. My online account seems inactive, making it impossible for me to access any information. I'm worried about paying my bills. Thank you. - C. Lyden

I was laid off from work last Friday, 9/3/21, and tried to start an unemployment claim online. However, I encountered issues while trying to log in to my account as the system stated I already had an account and prompted me to log in. Unfortunately, I forgot my password and when I tried to reset it using my security questions, the system kept saying my answers were wrong. I have tried contacting the unemployment offices but haven't been able to reach a representative. I am unsure how to resolve this issue promptly to start receiving my benefits.

Hello, I have been filing for the past month, but I have not received any payments. When I called last time, I was informed that I needed to upload some documents, which I promptly did. I provided all the necessary paperwork to ensure I receive my unemployment benefits. Currently, I am at a loss because I am attending job training through your program, but the money is not coming through. I am starting to fall behind on my expenses. I understand this is not your fault, but I am feeling quite frustrated.

Hello, my name is Anthoney Bailey. I am trying to understand the status of my claim and why I have not received my funds yet. I have been waiting for months without any update or payment. A few weeks ago, I received a payment of $[redacted], which was not the full amount owed to me. When I tried to claim the remaining funds, I encountered an issue stating I needed to contact you. My file indicates I should have been able to claim on August 28th, but I am unable to claim for the following weeks. This delay is affecting my ability to provide for my children's school needs. Please provide me with an update on my situation. Thank you and have a blessed day.

My son has not received any unemployment benefits since August 2.
He got an email confirming the claim for weekly Unemployment Insurance benefits but stating it's not payable at this time. The email mentioned there could be a pending appointment or appeal affecting the payment.
Despite multiple attempts to contact the Reemployment Call Center, he hasn't been able to reach anyone for clarification. He's unsure why the claim isn't payable and is seeking assistance.
Any help with this issue would be highly valued. Thank you.

I have been struggling to receive my retro pay for July [redacted]. In July [redacted], I received a letter stating that my benefits were declined without speaking to anyone. I have been attempting to contact someone for over a year now, but all I encounter is a high call volume message. Despite winning my appeal for the retro pay, I have yet to receive the funds six weeks later. I am eager to speak to a live person promptly.

Since March, I have been trying to reach unemployment through emails and phone calls. My unemployment payments stopped being credited on July 31st without any explanation. Despite being on partial unemployment since May [redacted] due to the pandemic, my funds are not coming through. Last Sunday, I couldn't claim until speaking with someone. Despite numerous emails, I cannot access my account due to username and password issues. I have tried scheduling appointments with no luck. Today, when I finally reached out by phone, I was told to expect a call back within 24 to 48 hours. I urgently need assistance as my money is critical for bills and caring for my children.

My benefits were unexpectedly cut off on July 22, [redacted], and I haven't received any further payments from New Jersey Unemployment since. Despite having funds remaining, I never received an explanation via email or mail regarding the discontinuation of my benefits. Just yesterday, I finally received a notice by mail stating that my unemployment benefits have been extended by an additional 20 weeks. It has been 6 weeks now without any income coming in. I continue to certify weekly as prompted, but every time a bold red pop-up appears saying my account is not payable at this time. Despite the balance showing $[redacted] in benefits available, no payments have been processed to my debit card. This situation is causing significant financial strain as I search for employment in the hospitality sector, particularly as a bartender or server. With limited hiring due to capacity constraints and ongoing pandemic concerns affecting consumer spending, the industry is facing challenges. I hope to resolve this issue promptly as 6 weeks is a considerable period to go without any financial support.

My claim was scheduled for 08/22/[redacted]. After submitting my unemployment claim, I got an email to verify my ID.ME by 09/17/[redacted], which I did on 09/15/[redacted]. A GetHuman representative advised me to keep checking through my claiming period as my status will update to allow benefits claiming.
Today, when trying to claim benefits, I saw a new error message stating my claim had expired, asking to resubmit. Despite the 15 business day grace period from my ID.ME verification completion (09/15/[redacted]), lasting until 10/06/[redacted], why has my application expired?
I've been facing this issue for about four weeks now without receiving any payment.

My most recent unemployment payment was $[redacted] dated 4/19/21. After receiving an email stating I should be getting $[redacted] a week until September, I encountered issues registering on the website to claim my benefits. Despite multiple attempts to fix the problem, I kept facing login issues. Even after being assured by different representatives that it was resolved, I still couldn't claim my benefits. I was promised a callback that I never received. It seems the mistake was on my end, but I need help resolving this issue. Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
