Hello, my name is Alexandra. I have been using Mozilla Firefox for over 8 years. Today, the browser stopped letting me open new tabs. I have tried several troubleshooting steps such as uninstalling and reinstalling the browser, following the support guide, restarting the computer multiple times, and downloading a newer version of Firefox. However, I keep receiving error messages like "Missing profile" and "Download interrupted" even when no other applications are running. I would greatly appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue. Thank you.

Mozilla performed an upgrade on 5-20-18 without my permission. This action caused my bookmarks to disappear entirely, and I am unable to bookmark anything now. Despite trying numerous suggested fixes from their help sites, none have resolved the issue. Spending more than 7 hours across 3 days communicating with Microsoft about Defender has not helped either. Mozilla mentioned that my bookmarks and history system are affected because a Firefox file is being used by another application, possibly security software. This problem only began after Mozilla's upgrade. Unfortunately, they have not offered any assistance or communication methods to address this frustrating issue. Other browsers seem to offer customer support via chat or other means, unlike Mozilla. I am incredibly frustrated by this situation and believe that an email will not suffice. I am not seeking more troubleshooting steps but urging Mozilla to revert the upgrade.

When closing Firefox, I always need to click on the home page icon of each tab before closing to avoid issues when reopening the browser. If I don't do this, Firefox becomes unresponsive or tries to restart the previous session, giving me options to restore the session or start a new one. However, clicking on "start new session" doesn't work, leading me to continuously close and reopen Firefox until other options like opening in safe mode or refreshing Firefox appear. I just wish Firefox would consistently open a new session regardless of how it was closed previously.

I previously had Firefox installed with a speed dial extension, but now I can't connect to the website. Even after turning off the extension, I couldn't change my history settings. When I uninstalled Firefox and tried to reinstall it, the system recognized that it had been installed before. However, I'm encountering issues downloading it and keep receiving an error message directing me to a different web address. Despite multiple attempts, I can't install Firefox anew, and the system doesn't seem to allow for a clean installation. Upon checking the installer properties, I found three different entries but am unsure how to proceed as none of them allow me to remove the old installation.

I recently logged into my existing Firefox account, but encountered issues with it trying to update by prompting me to install a helper app. Despite trying to log in using my name, JEFF COTRUPE, followed by my email address, [redacted], I have been unsuccessful due to the password not being accepted. Although I am successfully logged into my account on multiple devices and the synchronization is working fine, I keep facing this error message that denies access. This issue could potentially be a bug in the browser or a database error. Perhaps Firefox could consider transitioning to using a reliable database technology like MongoDB, which is utilized by my new employer.

I recently upgraded to a new PC running Windows 10 and I have chosen Mozilla Firefox as my browser. My goal is to change my default search engine to Yahoo. I navigated to the settings by clicking on the three horizontal bars in the upper right-hand corner, then selecting OPTIONS, and finally clicking on SEARCH. Despite Yahoo not being in the list of search engines, I managed to add it and remove all others to exclusively use Yahoo. However, I encountered an issue where there is no clear option to set Yahoo as the default search engine. The only clickable button available is "Restore all default search engines" or a similar option. I suspect there might be a setting that needs adjustment or a step that I am missing. I appreciate any guidance or suggestions you may have to help resolve this issue. Thank you for your assistance!

About a month ago, a window popped up on my screen claiming to be a Mozilla Firefox Critical Error, urging me to call a provided phone number because my computer was at risk. A voice warned of viruses compromising data and instructed not to turn off or restart the computer. Despite my attempts to remove the window and voice, I eventually contacted the Help Desk. A technician, offering his name and tech number, remotely accessed my computer and uncovered alleged security threats from foreign sources. After an hour-long process, I was pressured to purchase a security system for a discounted three-year plan, insisting my computer would crash without it. Due to skepticism, I declined, leading the technician to disconnect. Just an hour ago, the same alert resurfaced with the same voice, causing a fifteen-minute disturbance to return to normal computer access. This recurring scam is worrisome, and I seek advice on how to address it.

I have been using Firefox for around 25 years and there are some new issues bothering me. 1) The Description field in my bookmarks no longer shows up in the presentation, which is where I store important information. I need access to this data. 2) I heard that Google is the one actually conducting searches when I use Firefox. Are they collecting my information in the process? 3) Firefox on my Samsung Android phone has been triggering "App Permission Monitor" alerts about the browser accessing my camera without permission. Why is this happening? I am looking for detailed responses to address these concerns.

Thank you for your continued support. I have been using Firefox for many years and appreciate its history. Nowadays, at 80 years old, I find it challenging to ignore advertisements. My simple mobile phone is enough for me, alongside my [redacted] Apple MacBook Pro. I kindly request to discontinue the sync feature, or else I will switch back to Safari. Despite this, I embrace modern technology like driving an electric car since [redacted]. If you aim to help, consider creating an app for me as we used to call them applications in [redacted] with IBM mid-range computers. I seek guidance on stopping advertisements and other unwanted content that inundates consumers. Thank you.

Since I downloaded Firefox Quantum, I've been experiencing frustratingly slow performance on both my Android phone and home PC. Despite multiple attempts to troubleshoot by redownloading and using support resources, the browser consistently becomes sluggish and struggles to connect to servers after 1 to 2 weeks. This has led me to rely on other browsers like Google or Bing. I miss the reliability of the old Firefox version and the lack of issues I had with it. It's exhausting trying to solve this problem alone with the online support guides and I just want the new Firefox Quantum to function as promised without needing extensive technical knowledge. I wish there was a person I could speak with who is well-versed in these matters to guide me through or resolve this issue. It's disappointing that there isn't a direct helpline for such problems and I'm considering removing Firefox from all my devices if this continues. I simply want a seamless experience without having to become a tech expert. I hope to find personalized assistance soon. Thank you, HR.

On January 30, [redacted], around 10 am, when I opened Firefox in the morning, a brief survey popped up. I completed it, giving Firefox a positive review. Upon submission, I was informed I had won an iPhone. Despite not encountering issues with Firefox before and having strong security with videotron.ca, I followed instructions to confirm my win, entering my Visa details for a $1 charge. However, the system repeatedly indicated my Visa was declined, citing incorrect information. After verifying my details multiple times, I became wary, powered off my computer, and immediately contacted my bank. It seems that at 10:12 am (EST) on Jan 30, [redacted], my Visa was charged $54.48, even though I supposedly provided the wrong number. Prompt action led to the transaction being reversed. The company involved seemed to be "netyes.com". I had to cancel my Visa as a precaution and will need to notify and update various companies about my new Visa number. This experience has left me puzzled and concerned, especially as a senior citizen. I hope to receive a timely response as I value Firefox but now hesitate to provide my Visa details for donations. Your prompt communication is appreciated. Thank you, Debbie L.

I have been attempting to reach out for assistance for over an hour but couldn't find a suitable way except on YouTube. Unfortunately, there is no feasible support option available. The main issue is the lack of communication channels. I even had to comment on a German video in English for help. I am puzzled by the absence of support accessibility given my participation in the beta testing. Recently, Firefox updated itself to resemble Windows 7 instead of Windows 10, leading to confusion during Firefox Beta removal. Despite several attempts to install regular Firefox, it prompts for permission but offers no confirmation upon completion. Unclear messages persist after initiating downloads, making it challenging to ascertain the correct removal. I endeavored to seek support from Firefox, but to no avail. Consequently, I am left in a perplexing situation, contemplating deleting unwanted files to streamline the process.

I am encountering difficulties maintaining my website on Wix following the recent Firefox update. Specifically, when attempting to work on the "ALLOTMENT" page, the page becomes blank except for the heading, then all other pages follow suit. This is hindering my ability to update the website efficiently. Interestingly, I do not face this issue when using Google Chrome, a browser I typically do not prefer. It's worth noting that a separate Wix site of mine is running smoothly on Firefox. Could there be a specific feature or block on the "ALLOTMENT" page causing this conflict with Firefox? Wix has investigated the matter and attributed it to Firefox. I have relied on Firefox for many years, but this issue is making me consider switching browsers. Any insights or suggestions on resolving this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. - D.

I recently downloaded the latest version of Firefox for Windows 10 and it was successful. I made sure to save my Firefox profile before reinstalling Windows 10, and I followed the steps to restore it afterwards. However, after the restoration, I noticed that there are three profiles - two from the current Firefox installation and the one I just restored. I attempted to delete the two newly created profiles, but received an error message stating "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." I restored the profiles back and Firefox is working, but it is not using my preferred profile. Interestingly, all three profiles contain the word "default." How can I ensure that my preferred profile is the one being utilized?

I'm curious why Thunderbird is not listed on Mozilla's official website, www.mozilla.org. I appreciate that I can find it on www.thunderbird.net, but it would be more convenient and trustworthy for users if it were readily available on Mozilla's main site. Currently, only Firefox download links are provided, which seems illogical. I rely on official sources for downloads to ensure safety, so having Thunderbird directly on Mozilla's site would be ideal. This would eliminate the need to search separately and potentially expose users to unverified sources. It appears counterintuitive to Mozilla's commitment to user safety. Simplifying the process by offering Thunderbird on their main site would improve user experience and security.

I installed Firefox a few years ago as required by Fidelity Co. for security. Lately, when I try to log in, I encounter a Google page instead of Firefox. I enter "fidelity.com" and proceed to log in to Fidelity's site. This change has made me concerned about the security of using Firefox for accessing Fidelity. I am unsure why I am being redirected to a Google page. I want to confirm if this altered process is still as secure as the original way I used Firefox to access Fidelity, and if there is any connection between Firefox and Google now.

I keep getting this error message on Firefox saying it cannot connect to several sites I visit. I've tried refreshing multiple times, checked my network connection, but the issue persists. I'm not tech-savvy, so I don't know how to see if there's a firewall or proxy blocking access. A message prompted me to accept or deny something recently, which I usually ignore, and the problem started after that. Any suggestions would be appreciated. - Beth C.

While typing and saving an email, it suddenly disappeared. My screen only offered the options to discard, keep writing, or save. When I chose to keep writing, the content was empty. Opting to save resulted in a never-ending spinning wheel. After contacting AOL, I attempted using a different browser, which worked perfectly. This experience was quite unsettling. If not for my alternative browser, I would have faced significant trouble!

I am looking for the correct settings in Firefox to enable the TLS 1.2 protocol. I found the security.tls.version.min and max settings in about:config. Could someone confirm the correct values to set to ensure TLS 1.2? Should both min and max be set to 3 for TLS 1.2? After making this adjustment, how can I activate the new setting? My browser version is 33.0, and I am using a Windows 7 virtual desktop.
