After living in my home for 20 years and handling my own insurance, taxes, and water payments, I encountered a concerning situation with Fay Servicing. Despite never requesting it, they purchased insurance on my behalf, resulting in unnecessary charges and confusion. I have requested the funds be returned, but they continue to create an escrow for insurance, leading to a significant increase in my monthly mortgage payment. Additionally, I received unwarranted late payment notices despite making timely payments for over 5 years. I was advised to send a letter stating my refusal of the escrow account, although the problem remains unresolved and has left me feeling frustrated. I am seeking guidance on how to switch to a different servicer due to this distressing experience.
