Dear Community Members,
I made the decision to change a member's RSVP status from going to not going for an event that had a waitlist due to her lack of response to my messages. This particular member had not participated in any events for nearly two months but suddenly RSVPed to this popular event. I informed her that I was removing inactive members to prioritize those who actively engage with the group. After no response, I changed her status to not going. Although I understand her upset, my intention was to allow active members the opportunity to join in. I value the participation and connections within our social group and do not want this issue to recur.

I have been a member of Meetup for over ten years. I used to lead a successful book discussion group from [redacted] to [redacted] before relocating for work. I have since upgraded my devices to a newer laptop, iPhone, and iPad and have downloaded Meetup on the latter two. Unfortunately, Meetup no longer recognizes my profile. In [redacted], I successfully created a new Meetup but had to abandon it due to a family tragedy. I continue to pay monthly dues but am unable to access the [redacted] Meetup or organize new ones. Despite trying on various devices, I am unable to make changes and am repeatedly prompted to join Meetup. I need assistance to resolve this issue. Thank you.

I am currently being charged for services on a recurring basis every 6 months for several years now. I wish to cancel the service, but I lack the login details and cannot find a contact number to assist me in identifying the associated account. Could someone please reach out to me to help me determine the linked account?
The transaction on my bank statement appears as a recurring payment with the most recent one having a bank transaction number of S[redacted][redacted] on Visa ending in [redacted], authorized on 3/16/19 for $59.94.
The account could be under any of the following emails: [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], or [redacted]
I hope this information is sufficient for further investigation. Thank you for your assistance.

I've already emailed about the issue. I wish there was a phone number for assistance. Every time I try to start or join any discussions on Meetup, I keep receiving the message "service is disabled." I organize the single Christ followers of Nashville group and am the primary organizer and a paying member. This is causing significant hindrance and requires urgent attention. Despite reaching out, I have not received a response. I can still schedule meetups and send messages, but I cannot access any discussions. I would appreciate a call at [redacted] to resolve this matter promptly. Your immediate attention to this important issue is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, I recently became the organizer of a new meetup group in Saline, Michigan called Saline Art Journaling. I was expecting an email to guide me on how to manage this group, as I am new to organizing events. However, members are already joining and contacting me, and I am unsure of my responsibilities. One crucial task is finding a venue, but I am unsure of the process. Unfortunately, I am unable to access my meetup account to update these members on my progress. Despite resetting my password twice, the login page won't open for me. I paid for a one-month subscription with the expectation of receiving live support. I am eager to move forward with organizing this group, but being locked out of my account is hindering me. If anyone can assist me, please contact me at [redacted] or [redacted]. Thank you, Marilyn Duhaime.

I have been trying to contact Meetup.com after becoming the organizer for my group. Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful in updating the information about the group, which is currently listed three times. In the process, I unintentionally paid an extra $8.99 on top of the initial $23.99 to create the group, with no clear assistance provided besides automated responses. I am frustrated as I have been unable to speak to a real person for guidance. Even my inquiry about changing the group name resulted in an unsatisfactory virtual response. While I did manage to figure out how to cancel the Meetup, I am now aware that another member needs to step up as the organizer and I am not eligible for a refund for my one-month subscription. I am disappointed with the lack of support from Meetup.com, and without a company representative to address my concerns, I feel that the site is not meeting my needs. I am requesting a refund for the poor service experienced. Thank you. - B. L. Social Group for Jewish Couples, 55+

I want to share my experience with "Gal Pals of South Jersey" in Beverly, NJ, organized by Patricia. The official website states it welcomes retired and semi-retired individuals to join, but I was declined membership because I work. I reached out to the organizer via email, but her response was unsatisfactory and evasive. Despite paying the $10.00 dues, the organizer claimed I didn't pay specifically to Gal Pals, which added to the confusion. She mentioned that I joined in January and didn't reach out until April, although I don't recall this detail. This reasoning seemed irrelevant to me. I felt discriminated against for working part-time, as they only meet during the week when I have time off. The explanation for my rejection seemed unreasonable. The concept of being "accepted" or "declined" for a meetup was new to me and left me disappointed. Even if they apologized now, I wouldn't reconsider joining. I wanted to share my story so others are aware of this situation.

I'm feeling lost and need to have a real conversation with someone from Meetup. It's my first time organizing an event called "Spirituality and Mental Health." I noticed several people are interested, but I recently got an email stating that the Meetup is closed and one person couldn't RSVP. As a first-time coordinator, I'm struggling with the complexity of your platform. Unless I can get direct assistance, I might need to cancel the event.

I am frustrated with receiving Meetup group invitations that seem to promote fee-based services without upfront disclosure. I believe there should be a policy requiring these fees to be clearly stated on the first page of any Meetup announcement. It appears that The Amber Shop consistently leverages Meetup solely for sales. [redacted]

Today, I created a Meetup group. While setting it up, I was prompted to provide my address, and inadvertently, my home address is now listed as the meeting location for the group. I tried to edit it, but I couldn't change this detail. I value my privacy and don't want my home address displayed. My name is Kevin O'Kane, and the group is called New York Spirituality/Metaphysics/Past-Life Meetup Group. I am concerned about maintaining my privacy, especially given the unpredictability in NYC. Please assist me in removing my home address from the group details. Thank you.

I'm seeking assistance as a new Meetup user who recently created a group. I have some queries regarding charging for group membership. Would the fee be one-time, weekly, or monthly? Can I choose this option myself?
Although I haven't hosted the group's first meet-up yet, I've unexpectedly been called away for a six-week job. Should I cancel the group? What's the best course of action? Should I continue the group and keep in touch via email? Hosting in-person meet-ups won't be possible while I'm away. Is it possible to have online meet-ups through Skype or Zoom?
Is there a method to contact group members individually using their email or phone number?
Your prompt response would be highly appreciated as I need to make arrangements based on this situation.
Thank you

I was denied entry with my service dog by the group leader at a MeetUp event. After reaching out to MeetUp and sharing the messages from the event organizer at Muskokagal’s Spiritual Awakening Journey, I was still faced with refusal to accommodate my service dog. The organizer, Angel, cited their cat being scared as the reason, without any medical justification. This lack of understanding of the law is not a valid excuse when it comes to allowing Guide/Service Dogs. It's important for home businesses, like this one, to adhere to Ontario Laws. I was attending a paid art class and felt discriminated against due to my service dog.

I manage the Fort Worth Camping Club and encountered an issue with members not paying dues or participating. When removing inactive members, I unintentionally excluded Terry Lowe, who was part of the group before dues were implemented. He is unable to rejoin without immediately paying dues. I want to allow him a 30-day trial period, but I cannot locate his information. I am puzzled as to why he cannot have the same trial period as new members. My goal is to have active and committed members who engage in our overnight trips and pay fees promptly. Please advise on how to rectify this situation. Thank you,

I'm having trouble keeping the Meetup website on my monitor. It disappears after less than a second. I unsubscribed from it years ago and have since had connection problems. Initially, I couldn't view group pages, but now I can do so with a new email account. I've checked my blocked and junk settings and attempted to add it as a secure website, but the issue persists. I'd appreciate any assistance you can provide.

I recently joined a social tennis group on meetup.com with players of different skill levels. The lead organizer lacks understanding of USTA ratings, resulting in mismatched play. During a match, a male player hit a ball at me aggressively, causing me discomfort as a female player. When I raised the issue of proper etiquette for mixed doubles, the organizer dismissed my concerns, stating that players should play intensely at their own risk. I am wondering if participants should be required to sign a medical release or liability waiver before joining to prevent injuries, or if the organizer holds responsibility for any injuries due to the event's organization.

I am currently working to pioneer a new meetup group online for seniors unable to attend gatherings in person due to physical limitations. With my expertise as a techie and prior experience in running meetup groups, I aim to create a platform using web conferencing for weekly virtual meetups. This initiative seeks to connect seniors facing isolation and disability difficulties with a community where they can make friends and engage like any other individual. By leveraging web conferencing tools, I believe we can bridge the gap and provide an inclusive space for all members to socialize and participate. This innovative approach hopes to break down existing discriminatory barriers and could potentially lead to positive publicity for being a trailblazer in leveraging technology to promote networking opportunities for disabled individuals.

I am the organizer for the Meetup Group "Single Christ-Followers of Nashville." I have reached out numerous times without receiving assistance. There is an individual in Nashville using the alias "Lee's mugshot" who has been creating multiple profiles despite being banned. This person is harassing me, spreading false information, and the authorities have not taken action. I have taken steps to stop this harassment, including warning them of legal consequences, but they persist. I kindly request help to trace their IP address and permanently remove them from Meetup. This situation is putting my safety at risk and affecting others in the community. Please assist me in addressing this urgent matter. Thank you.

There has been a recent change in leadership within the St. Louis singles outdoor adventure group that was not agreed upon by the entire group. The new leader has introduced religious events without consulting the members, causing concern and dissatisfaction. After expressing objections through group notifications, the new leader removed the conversation to halt further discussions. Introducing religious events without group consensus is seen as biased and inconsiderate, steering the group towards a specific religious orientation. To ensure fairness, it is recommended that the entire group participate in voting for both the inclusion of religious events and the selection of a new leader.

My name is Joseph G. and I was the organizer of a group called Long Island Lead Generators. In March [redacted], I made a one-time payment of $19.99 to keep the group going, but I did not authorize any recurring payments. I voluntarily stepped down as the organizer in March when the group disbanded after minimal attendance. However, I was billed $19.99 on July 7, [redacted], on my CITI Simplicity card for the months of April, May, and June [redacted] without my consent. I am seeking reimbursement for these unauthorized charges and request to be removed from any recurring payments moving forward. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
