My experience getting my Illinois state ID was unique. They used to issue new IDs on-site with same-day pickup. I couldn't remove the church address, which may be a blessing. It took about three weeks to arrive, and now my ID shows DD. I don't drive due to my rare low vision. Despite paying my state taxes early in Waukegan, my husband and I separated. I faced issues of abuse and tampering with mail after he left. I have concerns about my funds, discrimination in housing, and feeling victimized. Safety and health are paramount, especially considering hate crimes. Family relationships are strained, and financial worries persist. I'm seeking medical assistance and support but feel neglected. I hope for a resolution to these challenges and a safer future for all.

I am the vehicle owner who financed a car through Household Bank many years ago. The loan is paid off, but I never received a lien release for the title. Recently, when attempting to sell the car, I discovered the lien still on the title. Despite visiting the DMV in Kansas and speaking to the manager, I couldn't find a solution. Household Bank closed in [redacted], leaving no avenue for assistance from them. After contacting the FDIC, I was advised to reach out to the Illinois Secretary of State as Household Bank was based in Wood Dale, Illinois. I hope for guidance on how to obtain the lien release I need for my vehicle. Thank you for your assistance. Best regards, Preston S.

I have been attempting to contact the [redacted] number for answers, but I am unable to reach anyone. The Secretary of State website is also down. My son got a DUI in July [redacted] in Indiana, convicted in December, and his IL license was revoked. He completed a recovery program before his court date. We have legal representation in IL working on getting a restrictive driver's license, but due to Covid-19, his case is stalled. He works in construction management in Chicago and is unable to progress in his career or take a job out of state due to court closures. Could you provide any information on when Illinois will resume these cases? This situation is affecting his job and mental well-being significantly.

I am currently battling metastatic breast cancer for the fifth time. I am undergoing chemotherapy and need to avoid crowds, even with a mask. My driver's license is due for renewal on June 1 with just a vision test required. The DMV locations I passed had long lines inside and outside, which I need to avoid. I have a spotless driving record in my 58 years of driving, with my vision at its best now at 20/40 after corrective eye surgery. Is there a way I can renew my license without the vision test, possibly online? Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated given my health condition. Thank you for your prompt response. - Kay N.

As Illinois residents currently in Arizona, my spouse and I recently sold a vehicle and purchased a [redacted] Honda in Arizona in November [redacted]. We aim to register the Arizona title for the [redacted] vehicle in Illinois and transfer the plates from our sold vehicle to the new one. While attempting to use Form VSD [redacted], we encountered an error regarding the plate number (OKNBK 40) being deemed invalid no matter how it is entered. The sales tax was paid to Arizona at the time of purchase. We are seeking guidance on the necessary forms, fees, and the correct Secretary of State (SOS) office address in Springfield to complete the process. Our plan is to affix our plates to the [redacted] vehicle before we return to Illinois in [redacted].

As Illinois residents temporarily in Arizona due to Covid-19, my spouse and I recently sold a vehicle and purchased a [redacted] Honda from a dealership in Arizona on November 1, [redacted]. We are looking to transfer the Arizona title for the [redacted] vehicle to Illinois and transfer the plates from our sold vehicle. However, when trying to use form VSC [redacted], we encountered an error message stating that the plate number (OKNBK 40) is invalid regardless of how we input it. We have already paid sales tax to Arizona at the time of purchase. We plan to return to our Illinois home around mid-[redacted] after we both receive vaccinations. Can anyone advise on the correct forms required (preferably online), the applicable fees, and provide the mailing address for the SOS office in Springfield, Illinois?

I recently discovered that my two-year-old license plate is peeling off, and it has the renewal sticker on it. I'm unable to proceed on the Potentially Defective License Plates website because I misplaced the Registration ID. The phone number provided is constantly busy, and my cellphone seems to be picking up the Kendall County Circuit for some reason. I need help locating the Registration ID and PIN. Here are the details of the vehicle:
Make: Subaru
Model: Forester
Year: [redacted]
License Plate: L893617
Owner: Roman and Hanna Babinski
Address: [redacted] Robinhood Court, Bolingbrook, IL [redacted]
Contact Number: [redacted]
**Note:** I also tried entering my alternate email address with four characters after the dot, which the system did not accept.

Yesterday, my wife and I visited the DMV in Monticello to update her name after our marriage. She is 65 years old and we waited for 2 hours after taking a number. Despite being in the car due to her upcoming hip replacement, younger people were called in before us. After over two hours, our number was skipped because she was in the car. The staff member who came out to call others didn't bother checking our car. I found it unacceptable, especially given the cold weather. The manager was rude and dishonest to my wife, leading us to travel further for assistance. This was a stark contrast to our previous experiences there, which were much smoother. Some individuals mentioned they only spent 15 minutes at the counter. Any advice on how to address this issue would be appreciated.

My vehicle registration expired in February [redacted], and I waited for my renewal notice via email and U.S. mail but did not receive it this year. Concerned, I searched online for information after a month had passed. I attempted to call a phone number for a pin to renew online, but the call did not connect properly. Two weeks later, I visited my local DMV office with my old registration. The staff member informed me of a $20.00 late fee on top of the $[redacted].00 registration fee. Due to the Covid-19 circumstances and the lack of communication regarding my renewal, I expressed my reluctance to pay the late fee and left without renewing. Despite the confusion, I would like to renew my registration without incurring the late fee. My address and email details remain the same.

I had a troubling experience at the Melrose Park Secretary of State Office where two employees at desk 8 around 5 p.m. did not follow the regulations outlined on cyberdriveillinois.com. Despite having the correct documents, including a credit/debit card as proof of signature from Group A, they insisted I needed a passport for a simple name spelling correction on my Illinois driver's license. This led to unnecessary stress as I was unable to resolve the issue and had difficulty finding transportation back to the office due to COVID-19 challenges. The employees' lack of knowledge and professionalism, as well as their dismissive attitude, left me feeling frustrated. It's concerning when staff members do not adhere to standard procedures, especially when dealing with essential services. It is crucial to have employees who understand the guidelines and can effectively assist customers.

I recently realized that my driver's license still has the wrong address listed on it. Despite the extension granted for renewing driver's licenses until January [redacted], I received a ticket for this issue. Unfortunately, due to my lung condition and ongoing struggles with post-COVID symptoms, I am hesitant to visit the DMV, which has been closed multiple times for safety reasons. Could you please confirm if I am indeed allowed an extension until January [redacted] to update my address? Additionally, I am wondering if there is a possibility to have the ticket waived considering the circumstances.

I need assistance with renewing my license plate. I tried to renew online but was asked to do an emission test. I completed the test on 12-8-[redacted] after some delay due to a faulty catalytic converter, resulting in new plates being issued. I passed the test and renewed my license but would like to skip the emission test renewal this time due to Covid-19. Could you adjust my test date to 5/31/[redacted] as indicated on the records I have? Since it might be too late for mail renewal, I may have to buy it in person and pay a service fee. Please remove the hold on my plate renewal to allow me to proceed. Thank you.

In August [redacted], I sold my 24-year-old car to a Toyota dealer, following the necessary steps of removing insurance, license plates, and signing over the title. After receiving payment, I believed the transaction was complete. Recently, I learned the car was towed to a wrecking lot in Georgia, as it was deemed abandoned. Illinois records show no new registration since [redacted]. The wrecking company offers to release me from liability with a disclaimer, but notaries refuse as I am not the current owner. I solely possess the check stub from Toyota as proof of the sale. Should I address this issue with Toyota, considering they received the title as part of the sale?

I am shocked by the treatment I received at the Waukegan, IL facility today. On March 1, [redacted], I went to renew my license, expecting a road test as per the information from the Secretary of State office. However, I was informed at the reception window by a lady that only a vision test was needed. Despite my 9:00 am appointment at window #6, the gentleman handling my documents for the new federal ID license seemed distracted, chatting with a coworker. He initially claimed I couldn't get the new ID due to not informing the main receptionist upon arrival, but eventually processed it. I presented various documents, including my birth certificate, which he deemed invalid due to the lack of a seal, disregarding its previous use and relevance. Amidst distractions and conversations with his friend, he questioned why I wanted the new ID and dismissed the need for a road test based on my age. After a brief confusion, a supervisor confirmed no road test was required. Subsequently, when inquiring about my handicap placard at window 9 or 19, I encountered rudeness and unhelpfulness. Despite the poor experience, the lady who took my picture was kind. I found the overall treatment disappointing, particularly the staff's demeanor, lack of attention, and unfriendliness, leading me to decide not to return to this facility.

I would like to avoid needing to return to Skokie. I have not initiated a grievance procedure but intend to contact lawyers for assistance. My son Teagan J. Wood applied for a duplicate title for a car he purchased from my parents with VIN # 3FAHP08Z68R260793. Kane County Teacher’s Credit Union was mistakenly listed as a lienholder, even though they never held a lien on the vehicle. We submitted a release of lien form from their bank to prove this. Although my son received an email confirming the processing of the form, we never received the actual release. When checking the VIN status, it still shows Kane County Credit Union as a lienholder. We need this matter resolved and a new title issued promptly so my son can submit it to our insurance company to proceed with his claim.
