Subject: Update Needed for Power Account at Vintage Grand Condo I would like to update the account information for the FPL account associated with my condo at Vintage Grand, located at [redacted] Crockers Lake Boulevard, Building 21, Unit 26, Sarasota, Florida [redacted]. The previous tenant, Mr. D.R. Caskey, moved out on August 15th, [redacted]. Starting from August 16th, I kindly request to have my name listed as the responsible party for the FPL account and to have the power connected as soon as possible. I am in the process of selling the condo and would like to ensure the electricity, particularly for the A/C, remains active until the change of ownership. I will take care of any bills incurred from the 16th onwards until the property changes hands. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information. Thank you, Ray F. At 11:30 pm, there was a knock on my door. My mother-in-law was home alone and heard two men talking while entering our backyard through both gates. When she confronted them, they claimed to be from Florida Power and Light, checking the transformer. Our address is Pine Tree Drive in Edgewater, Florida. There is a transformer in our backyard, and we recently experienced a hurricane, though we didn't lose power. However, it seemed suspicious to have them there late at night. Although I advised her to contact the police, they left after being questioned and she didn't end up calling.

A couple of days back, a concerning incident occurred at my home located at [redacted] Washington Rd, West Palm Beach. Upon receiving a distressed call from my wife, I rushed home to find a group of unidentified men digging a 70-foot trench in our backyard without any official identification or work orders. When questioned, one individual named Steve, claimed they were from a company called Wilco conducting an underground conversion for a neighboring property. Despite my concerns about them digging through our pet cemetery and the proximity to water and gas lines, they continued their work with a dismissive attitude. The only contact information provided was a [redacted] phone number that went unanswered. Subsequently, a woman from Wilco left a message asking for a text with my concerns, but by then the damage was done. A lone worker later arrived to connect power, leaving a mess behind. This lack of professionalism and disregard for property boundaries is disappointing, especially as a long-term resident. I hope for a more responsible selection of subcontractors in the future. Your prompt attention and assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. - Neil Stegall

I reside at [redacted] 9th Ave E Bradenton, FL, next to the FPL substation. The trees on your property are overgrown and extend significantly onto my property, hanging only 3 1/2 feet from the ground. This makes it challenging for me to mow my grass. Unfortunately, your property has been left unmaintained for quite some time. This has led to concerns about snakes due to the tall grass. Previously, the area was tended to weekly with tree and shrub trimming in the spring and fall, but this has not been done for several years. The current situation is unsightly and unsafe, with tree branches at risk of breaking in strong winds. Please address this issue promptly. I can be reached via email at [redacted] or phone at [redacted]. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. - Paula J Stanton

I am writing today seeking financial help with my FPL bill due to Hurricane Dorian. After requesting and receiving a payment extension, they charged me a $[redacted].00 deposit on top of my overdue balance. My family is low income, receiving SNAP benefits, including a child with disabilities. We cannot afford this unexpected charge as we were preparing for the hurricane. Despite contacting FPL for arrangement, they denied it due to the overdue balance. I tried nonprofits but found no available funds. If I could pay the deposit in smaller installments along with future bills, it would be a huge relief. My child's health depends on these services, and the fees keep increasing. Any help or guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Christina M.

Dear Forum Members, I am reaching out for urgent help with my FPL bill. Due to Hurricane Dorian, I had to request a payment extension from FPL, and although it was granted, I was hit with a $[redacted].00 deposit charge on top of my overdue balance. My family, including my husband and two children (one with disabilities), relies on SNAP benefits. As a low-income family, we are struggling to cover this unexpected expense created by the hurricane. Despite my efforts to arrange a payment plan, FPL denied my request due to the already overdue balance. I have explored all nonprofit options without success and fear the impact on my child's health if our services are disconnected. I am asking for assistance in breaking down the deposit into manageable monthly installments, as we only sought the extension to prepare for the impending hurricane. Any support or guidance would be greatly appreciated as we navigate this challenging situation. Thank you for your time and understanding. Warm regards, Christina M.

I contacted FPL to have my power reconnected following a house fire. They explained an electrical inspection was required before restoring the service. After completing the inspection and necessary repairs, the inspector verified everything was in order with FPL. Due to ongoing renovations and waiting for my tenants to move in, I postponed reconnecting the electricity. Recently, my mom informed me about a bill in my name from FPL, indicating the lights were briefly on but are now off. As I have a Section 8 inspection approaching and tenants moving in on October 1st, I urgently need the power restored. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience. Thank you, Latasha Kinsey.

I used to be your customer at [redacted] Primrose Rd., Longwood, FL [redacted]. I'm unsure if I got my deposit refunded. I'm relocating to an area within your company's service. During the online process, I selected to split the deposit into two payments, but now I'm being requested to pay the full sum which I cannot afford. I have many upfront expenses moving into this property and would greatly appreciate it if you could allow me to split the payment as initially agreed.

My address is [redacted] Graciela Circle, St. Augustine, FL [redacted]. My account number is [redacted] under the name of William Phillips. I am his fiancé, and he passed away in June. The house is now mine and officially recorded in St. Johns County. The last four digits of his SS# are [redacted], and I hold POA. Our house is situated along the main path of the power lines from US 1 into the Shores. The contractor Trees, LLC, responsible for tree trimming, has not cleaned up the mess in my backyard after destroying a Cypress tree that Bill planted 30 years ago. They have yet to address this issue, and the debris is unsightly. Despite signing an FPL agreement for the tree removal, it has now been 60 days. Additionally, the path cut by the contractor is excessively wide, impacting the aesthetic and safety of my property. I have experienced motorcycle intrusions into my yard due to the altered path. This situation has greatly diminished the appeal and value of my backyard. I urgently require FPL to inspect the damage as I am contemplating legal action. I am deeply upset by this. My name is Ann Alexander.

I am feeling very distressed about this situation. I received an automated call around 2:00 informing me that my power would be disconnected within 30 minutes due to a lack of payment. The call instructed me to contact [redacted], where I encountered the same automated message. When I finally spoke with a live representative, I provided some information but can't recall if I shared my account number. While waiting, I checked your website and discovered that my bill isn't due until mid-November. This discrepancy has left me worried about potential scams targeting me as a senior citizen. Could you please investigate this number and let me know the necessary steps to address this issue? Thank you, Sandra C. from Boynton Beach, FL.

My husband and I moved in together recently. He paid the deposit for my new house on October 8th. I had the payment split into two parts - $[redacted] on October 17th and $[redacted] on October 24th. Long story short, we had a falling out, and he canceled his credit card, leaving me responsible for the deposit. As a single mom going through a tough divorce and just getting back to work, I am struggling financially. I've requested to pay in the original installments or explore other options, but I have been told to pay the full amount of $[redacted] by the 18th. However, I received a new statement recently demanding payment by the 15th. I have an appointment with a community agency on the 15th to seek help. I am hoping for better solutions as I will have a paycheck on 10/28 and another from SSI on 11/3. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I recently relocated to a new address at [redacted] SW 224th Terrace, Cutler Bay, FL [redacted] and updated my service details with FPL. I was informed by a representative that one of my two deposits would cover the first bill at the new location. My account for automatic payments remains the same. However, I received an email stating there was an issue deducting the funds from my account for the bill. I am confused about the situation and would appreciate a call at [redacted] to discuss this matter further. Thank you.

On 11/27, I made a payment over the phone for my bill and received Confirmation #[redacted]. I am confident there were enough funds in my account at that time. However, on 12/5, I got an email from FPL stating they had a returned payment notification, which was 9 days after I received confirmation. The funds for this account are usually deposited on the last Wednesday of the month. I only had $[redacted] available to pay by phone. My service will be disconnected on 12/16 if $[redacted].63 is not received. Unfortunately, I won't have additional funds until 12/25. FPL has my checking account information on file, so it looks like I won't have power until Christmas day.

Hello. I scheduled a new service for today, but they couldn't connect it because I forgot to send my ID. I faxed the ID over. Is there any way I can have my service activated today? I am leaving work soon to start moving. The previous owners had the power disconnected yesterday, and it was done remotely. Can this be done for me today as well? Thank you.

I have power lines running through my backyard with gates accessing my property where I keep livestock. FPL has 24-hour access, but one gate is missing and obstructed by debris from neighbors. I am replacing the fence and wonder if the power company might consider replacing the damaged section. Please contact me by cell phone at [redacted] or email. Thank you.

URGENT - A car has collided with the power pole at the intersection of Aviles Street and Bravo Lane in the Historic District of St. Augustine, Florida ([redacted]). The power pole, located next to our residence at 31 Aviles Street, is now extremely unstable, leaning dangerously towards our home. There is a high risk of harm to pedestrians and property damage if it collapses. Immediate stabilization of the power pole is crucial to prevent any accidents. We currently have an active service request with FPL for the replacement of the damaged pole, which has been hit multiple times due to the narrow streets. I am Robert Banta and can be reached at [redacted].

I did not receive the bill for December. Can someone please contact me regarding this matter? I am currently acting as Power of Attorney for my mother who owns the property. I do not have an account number as the payments are automatically deducted from her account, and I do not receive paper statements. Please remove the automated system that does not allow direct communication with a representative. My situation requires assistance beyond automated processes. Diane I. I own a small warehouse jointly with my former partner, who has since moved to North Florida due to his illness. Unfortunately, he handled the electric account which is now causing problems as the bill is unpaid, leaving me without power. When I contacted the electric company to switch the account to my name, they requested specific billing information that I do not have access to. I have been trying to reach my former partner without success. It's frustrating to be in a situation where my access to electricity depends on his cooperation. How long should I wait before taking further action to resolve this issue?

In January, I opened an account over the phone. I've now tried to set up my online account but encountered issues. I entered all the required details like my email, account number, and SSN, but there was no option to set a password on the initial screens. As a result, I'm now locked out of my online account without a way to access it. When I attempt to reset my password, I receive a notification stating that approval is needed from the account owner and that it can take up to 10 minutes. However, I never receive any messages regarding account access or password resets. My name is Kathleen Koub, and my account number is [redacted].
