Safety Concern at Lakeside Key
I included photos of a significant gap in the sidewalk at the entrance of Lakeside Key at Palm Avenue and SW 11 Street. The removed concrete slabs were left improperly on the side. This hazard has been present since a new utility pole installation required part of the sidewalk to be removed. Despite no major injuries reported so far, this hazardous and unsightly situation should have been addressed when the pole was installed. The HOA Board is uncertain of the responsible entity and has informed the City of Pembroke Pines to promptly resolve, replace, and fix this issue. Attempts to reach out to FPL without linking it to a private account were unsuccessful. Thank you.

Around 10:47 PM on February 21, [redacted], a transformer near our building failed, leading to 17 accounts losing power. Your repair team quickly responded, replacing the transformer by 4:00 AM, focusing on restoring power. This incident marks the third transformer replacement since I moved in. The core issue remains the sunken concrete pad where the transformer sits, leaving the new transformer now 4 inches below ground level. This positioning risks exposure to water, potentially causing rust and future issues. Requesting your attention to inspect this concern to avoid future incidents. Thank you, Clifford W. from Boynton Beach, FL.

I live at [redacted] East Park Lane, Hypoluxo, Florida [redacted], in the Ocean Caye complex. The easement between our property and Ocean Caye is owned by FPL, but it is heavily overgrown with shrubbery causing a rat problem. Despite numerous complaints to the town hall, the issue remains unresolved. Attempts to clear the shrubbery have been hindered by a chain link fence that separates the properties. We are looking for assistance in trimming the oak trees in the easement to mitigate the rat issue and prevent further problems like rats getting into neighbors' attics. Your help in addressing this matter would be greatly appreciated.

There is a power outage on 32nd Street between 9th and 10th, specifically in front of [redacted] NW 32 Street. The area has become very dark at night, making it difficult to see. It's crucial to fix the lights here for better visibility, as I often report incidents in this neighborhood. Your assistance in illuminating this area would greatly help in promoting safety and preventing crime. Let's all work together to ensure a well-lit environment for everyone's well-being. Thank you to the light company for your prompt attention to this issue. Let's shine bright like watchtowers in the dark and watch over each other, ensuring safety and security in our community. Your help in bringing light to this area is sincerely appreciated.

I receive SSI disability payments every month on the 4th. If my bills could be due on the 4th as well, it would prevent me from frequently requesting extensions due to the unavoidable delay caused by the current billing schedule. After paying most of my bills on the 4th, my family and I are left with only $40 until the next payment arrives. This financial strain makes it impossible to celebrate special occasions like our upcoming 30th wedding anniversary on May 9th, as we can't even afford a simple card. It has been over 12 years since we've been able to enjoy a meal out together. I hope that FPL can consider adjusting my payment due date to the 4th of every month to avoid late fees and financial stress.

I terminated service in Port St. Lucie in January [redacted] due to my move to Hollywood, Florida on 2/2. I promptly established a new account in Hollywood. However, Florida Power & Light (FPL) billed me $99.11 for February service in Pt. St. Lucie, despite no longer residing there. Despite explaining the situation, a purported manager at FPL insisted I had not canceled service and demanded payment. Despite providing evidence of my move including a receipt and lease for my new address and witnesses to the move, the manager offered no flexibility. As a retired individual on a fixed income, I feel unjustly treated by FPL's unwillingness to assist. They only extended the due date for two payments in addition to my current bill. I have been unable to reach a live representative to resolve this issue. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

My brother, FPLcustomer, Gerhard D. Bamesberger, passed away on March 20, [redacted]. The service address is [redacted] E Red House Branch Rd, St. Augustine, FL [redacted]. There is no formal administration of his estate, but I am responsible for paying his bills until his house is sold. I would like to change the billing for his account to my checking account. I have 2 FPL accounts of my own, which have always been paid on time. I need you to update his account with the information about his passing and allow me to pay his FPL bill until his residence is sold. I am having difficulty navigating your telephone and online platforms to ensure that this issue is handled correctly. I will be out of the country for 3 weeks starting April 10 and would appreciate resolving this before I leave. Annemarie Johnson can be reached at [redacted] or via email.

I am Jerrold L. Sobel, and I am contacting you about Account #30[redacted]2 at [redacted] Matheson Ave, Unit [redacted], Bonita Springs, FL [redacted]. Despite receiving warnings from FP&L about a $51.17 unpaid bill, I have concrete evidence that this payment has been made.
I utilize Wells Fargo online banking to manage my FP&L accounts and have documentation from the bank confirming the payment. I am eager to provide this proof to you through fax, email, or in person if necessary. Attempting to reach FP&L by phone has been challenging and unproductive. My efforts to resolve this in person today led me to power stations in Bonita Springs and Naples. Could you please advise on how to submit my payment evidence and ensure my power remains unaffected? I want to clarify that the bill in question has indeed been settled. Thank you for your assistance. Jerrold L. Sobel

I'd like to address an issue I've noticed with the Energy Dashboard online. Over the years, I've relied on it to monitor our energy usage and anticipate monthly bills. Recently, I've observed a new format being introduced alongside the old one. Checking for the month of April [redacted], I've come across conflicting numbers for Bill Days; one format indicates 32 Billing Days while the other shows 29. I wanted to bring this discrepancy to your attention and seek clarification on which count is accurate for April's billing period. It seems like you might be transitioning to the new format and potentially working to resolve this issue before the end of April. Just wanted to make you aware of this for your reference. Thank you. Respectfully, B. R.

I am currently managing my deceased brother's household bills until the property is sold. On 04/22/[redacted], I made a $50.00 payment from my bank. However, the payment was sent to his address instead of your account due to a confusion with the billing name, which was listed as Florida Power & Light instead of FPL. To rectify this, I have sent another $50.00 payment. I am unsure where the first $50.00 payment will end up, as mail to the address has been stopped. Please do not disconnect the power as it is crucial for the property sale. My daughter may have contacted you out of frustration and mentioned shutting off the power, but as the responsible party, I need it to remain active. I appreciate your assistance; the electronic payment is estimated to arrive in two days. In case of any further issues, please contact me at [redacted], as reaching your customer service has been challenging. Thank you. - Patricia Rossi, sister of the deceased account holder Glenn Boyer (acct #[redacted]), residing at [redacted] Gatewood, Cocoa FL [redacted].

I am having trouble paying my bill online because of bank suspensions due to returned items. I am waiting for documentation to prove that the issue was not my fault. The website says I can pay for free, but when I try to pay over the phone, it wants to transfer me to Western Union and charge a fee. I just want to pay my bill in full as stated on the website. My bank is causing the problem, and I want to resolve this over the phone. My payment is due today, and I thought my bank account was covering my bills. Please contact me to assist. Thank you.

I urgently require assistance with my recurring power outages at my home on [redacted] 37th Ave NE, Naples, FL [redacted]. The power disruptions have become a frequent issue over the past few weeks, always stemming from an identified source of 85 households and the main power line. Living at this address for 22 years, power loss was previously only experienced during severe weather events like hurricanes. The recent unexplained outages have caused me to discard a significant amount of food due to lack of refrigeration. I am concerned about the ongoing inconvenience and potential financial burden of replacing spoiled groceries. Requesting an investigation into these disruptions and a detailed explanation of the findings to alleviate the stress associated with these unexpected and prolonged power failures.

Dear FPL Representative,
I recently discovered debris in my front yard from work done on the utility lines where trees were obstructing them on May 14th in the afternoon. The cuttings were left in my bushes, which I found disturbing. I have taken the initiative to gather the cuttings from near my mailbox and clear the debris to maintain a tidy appearance. Additionally, I found more tree chunks hidden in my side bushes. I would appreciate it if someone could arrange for the removal of this leftover debris. It was surprising that the job was incomplete, especially considering there is a line down that was seemingly overlooked. I am hoping for prompt assistance in cleaning up the remaining debris.
Thank you,
A. Dellasavia

I am finding it challenging to comply with the policy and instructions when selling a property involving Fpl's suggestion to shut off circuit breakers before leaving, to avoid additional charges. This seems not only unsafe but also impractical as it can lead to property damage and risks associated with non-professionals accessing the service panel.
Maintaining properties nationwide, I have never encountered such policies from utility providers. Additionally, the idea of being billed for services beyond the stop date, especially when the meter is not read promptly, reflects poor management.
In my 40 years as an Fpl customer, I have appreciated the excellent services. However, I find this particular process concerning, illogical, and in need of a more appropriate and clear communication strategy for departing customers.

Days ago, I contacted customer service manager, Mrs. C. Morales, regarding an issue. An FPL crew entered our property with a crane and two trucks to replace a generator, creating difficulties accessing their site. Ignoring our "NO TRESPASSING" and "NO TRUCKS BEYOND THIS POINT" signs, they removed wooden posts meant to deter large vehicles. This blocked our entrance for hours as they worked at [redacted] Ocean Shore Blvd, near our 27-unit condominium at [redacted] Ocean Shore Blvd on Thursday, 7/4/19. Despite their disregard for rules, they didn't replace the posts and left them on the ground. Mrs. Morales assured me of contact, which never occurred. I am seeking guidance on contacting the appropriate State or Local Commission, like the Public Service Commission, to address this issue as it remains unresolved.

I would like to report an issue regarding the property at [redacted] N W 17th Place. Recently, some necessary wall work was done on the neighboring property due to water issues, which was much needed. However, the property across the street is being used as a parking lot for three large trucks, resulting in significant ruts on the street, affecting the overall appearance of the maintained area. I suggest establishing designated parking areas to prevent further damage and maintain the street's aesthetics. Additionally, there is a pole near the street bend with an overgrown pepper tree that requires trimming for safety reasons. Considering the dark conditions in that area, installing a street light would greatly improve visibility and security. Thank you for addressing these concerns to help preserve our neighborhood's appearance and safety standards.

Dear Customer Service,
I reside at [redacted] S. Ocean Blvd. in Highland Beach, FL [redacted]. My roommate and I split the FPL bill separately. I've contacted your customer service multiple times requesting paper bills be sent to my trustee at [redacted] Valencia Ave, Orlando, FL [redacted]. Despite assurances from your representatives, the paper bills have not been received by my trustee, Ramelle MacGregor, at the provided address. This has hindered my ability to pay on time from the trust account as agreed upon when I moved in. It has caused frustrations and late payments due to your company consistently failing to send the paper bills except for a few occasions. I urge you to improve this process to avoid further delays and ensure timely payments to avoid late fees.
Regards.

I have a question about solar panels. Yesterday, a representative from Maspan Consulting approached me offering free solar panel installation on my rooftop, claiming it would reduce my electricity bill by 25%. I declined any further consultation until I could investigate. After checking the FPL website for information on solar energy, I found it lacking. My attempts to contact FPL via phone were unsuccessful.
I'm curious if FPL offers its own solar panel program and if Maspan's offer may be considered fraudulent by FPL. Can you provide information on any solar panel programs offered by FPL?

I apologize for the delay in payment, which was a result of changing my email address when switching service providers. I updated my email to [redacted] promptly. I have consistently paid my bill within two to three days upon receiving the notice in the past 10 years. However, I did not receive the recent notification. Please ensure my bills are sent to my new email address. Getting in touch with a live person over the phone would be more helpful than interacting with automated systems, especially in Canada where conducting business online can be challenging. Thank you.

Yesterday, the FPL service technician was fixing the wiring in my backyard at [redacted] NW 70th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida [redacted]. The power went out briefly during the repair. However, today, all the lights in my house are flickering constantly from dim to bright repeatedly. I am concerned about the potential impact on my appliances, computer, and television due to the inconsistent power supply. I want to avoid any damage that may occur from the fluctuating power. - Yvonne S.
