Hello,
I am currently residing in England but will be in the United States for a while to visit my relatives. Specifically, I will be seeing my aunt in Florida and my cousin in San Francisco. I am eager to explore and will be purchasing a car to travel between these locations. I am a UK citizen with a tourist visa. Could you kindly guide me on the process of registering myself as the owner and driver of the vehicle? What requirements must I satisfy, and will I need any specific documentation from England? I have addresses in both FL and CA for registration purposes. I am 23 years old, possess a full UK license, and also hold an International one. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Seb

Hello,
I lost my driving privileges on February 15, [redacted], because of a seizure I experienced on December 23, [redacted]. Since then, I have been under the care of Dr. Christor Wey, a neurologist in Naples, Florida. My Florida driver's license was replaced by an ID card on April 3, [redacted], and it expires on July 10, [redacted]. I believe I can apply for reinstatement of my driver's license after the 6-month waiting period following my seizure in December [redacted], which ends around June 23, [redacted]. As we have returned to Ohio and will not be back in Florida until mid-October, I have two questions:
1) Can a neurologist from Ohio clear me for reinstatement, or does it have to be Dr. Wey in Florida?
2) If I get cleared and reinstated in Florida before my license expires on July 10, [redacted], can I renew it online or do I need to visit the driver's license office in Collier County? Also, are there any tests required for the renewal process?
Thank you for your assistance. Robert McNaghten

I am Joseph Krins, and I am attempting to obtain a Class M endorsement on my New York State driver's license. However, my previous state's DMV has not closed out an old medical disqualification from when I had a CDL-A license due to a stroke years ago. Even though I voluntarily surrendered my Florida CDL-A license before moving to New York, the national registry still shows the disqualification. The New York DMV needs Florida to remove me from the commercial driver registry to process my Class M endorsement. Although New York attempted to clear it, the system did not allow them to do so. They provided me with Florida's DMV customer service number to resolve this issue. My Florida driver's license number is [redacted]. Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated. Reach me at [redacted] or [redacted]. Respectfully, Joseph R. Krins.

I am a senior citizen who relocated from Florida to South Carolina in November [redacted] and am currently driving a [redacted] Toyota vehicle leased in Florida. In December, I obtained an unrestricted South Carolina Driver's License and a new South Carolina License Plate for our Toyota. However, I recently received an Annual Renewal form for our Florida License Plate. Upon contacting the Tax Department online to update our information, I was informed to return the old Florida license plates to the Tax Collector's office, which we cannot locate. An administrator from the Florida Tax Collector's office has requested an Affidavit Form along with proof of our vehicle's registration in South Carolina and a small fee. Additionally, they mentioned a "restriction" on my Florida license, which I am unaware of. Despite not intending to drive in Florida except for occasional vacations, I seek advice on addressing and possibly removing this restriction. Any insights or recommendations on further steps would be appreciated. Thank you. - R.R.

I am dealing with an issue regarding a vehicle traded at HGREG AUTO ORLANDO on behalf of a customer named Andrew Thompson. When Andrew moved to Florida, the DMV mistakenly listed the wrong lienholder on the temporary transfer for the vehicle. Despite numerous attempts to rectify this with Community Financial Credit Union, I have only received paper lien releases instead of getting the Electronic Lien Transfer (ELT) updated in the system. Community Financial Credit Union initiated a case with VINTEK, but the ELT has not been released as of yet. The correct lienholder that should be listed is VOLT CREDIT UNION, who has also provided multiple paper lien releases. The VINTEK Case number is CS[redacted]. I have been trying to resolve this issue since July and would appreciate any assistance.

My friend received a ticket in a private parking lot while visiting his doctor due to a missing visible handicap sign in a handicap spot. The sign had fallen down, which was not initially seen by the officer. He has a valid decal until 10/22 and is 87 years old and unwell. He wonders if he must pay the fine for this oversight, considering both his mistake and the officer's. Is it common to issue tickets in private lots now? He may not be able to attend court due to his health. I can provide a copy of his sign if needed. The fine is a burden on his limited SS income, especially since the sign had fallen from his mirror. Any guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I reside in Oklahoma and bought a used car from Ed Howard Lincoln-Mazda in Sarasota, FL on February 13, [redacted]. When I purchased the vehicle, I mentioned that I would register it in Oklahoma upon my return. Ed Howard dealership charged me $[redacted].12 for the State of Oklahoma Sales Tax. However, when I registered the car in Oklahoma, I was charged the sales tax again. I am seeking guidance on how to reclaim the $[redacted].12 I paid to Ed Howard during the purchase. I reached out to the Audit Department of Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Division (OMDV) and learned that although the sales tax was collected by Ed Howard, the refund process would be from Florida. Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated. Thank you, Terry H.

I have been trying to contact you for the last four days with no luck. I am a Canadian citizen who recently got married. I am unable to change my name on my driving license as I can't travel to the border to get a photo id due to the coronavirus situation. I'm wondering if there's a way to use a temporary passport or travel document to update my license with my new married name.
The local DMV advised me to seek permission from Tallahassee for assistance, but I have been struggling to reach you for days. I am also in contact with the Canadian consulate to obtain a passport, which might only be a temporary solution. Will you be able to accept this document for the name change on my license?
Thank you for your assistance.

I am seeking help in regards to a certificate of title for my late father's vehicle. I am the personnel representative handling his Last Will and Testament. The property and money distribution from the will have been completed except for the sale of his personal automobile. I had a potential buyer in Pensacola, Florida, but unfortunately, the buyer passed away before finalizing the transfer. Now, I am left with the Florida Certificate of Title for a [redacted] Hyundai Sonata with various documents but need assistance in processing the sale. I am located in Lexington, Kentucky, and would appreciate guidance on how to resolve this matter without having to travel to Florida. Thank you.

Since April [redacted], I have been attempting to renew my registration without success. The LP number on my registration card does not match the one on my vehicle, and there are issues verifying my address. Despite efforts to contact the dealer, I have not received any assistance. It is now November, and my registration is still expired. The FLHSMV documents confirm my vehicle cannot be verified. Although I have insurance through Ocean Harbor Casualty, the dealer claims I am uninsured and threatens to suspend my license for fraud. I am also facing challenges with payments for this vehicle purchased from a buy here pay here facility. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I urgently need to speak with a representative regarding incorrect points on my driving record. I was involved in an accident that was not my fault, and although the ticket was contested and neither party was declared at fault, I ended up with points on my record. I even successfully sued the other party for causing the accident.
It is crucial that these erroneous points are removed as they are impacting my ability to obtain insurance. Without proper insurance coverage, I am unable to commute to work and earn a living. I have been attempting to contact someone but have been unsuccessful so far. Please assist me in resolving this issue promptly.

I have been contacted by Toll Enforcement in Georgia regarding toll violations on Feb 08/[redacted] and Feb 23/[redacted] for a vehicle registered in my name at my Georgia address. My details are: William C Parker, [redacted] Sandy Creek Cove, Acworth, GA [redacted]. I am willing to provide any necessary information to resolve this matter promptly. Thank you, William C Parker.

As a US Citizen living in Panama for 4 years, I previously had a New York State driver's license, which I gave up. Now residing in Fort Lauderdale, FL, I am unsure about the process to obtain a new license. It's unclear whether I need to start from scratch, including getting a permit and taking written/driving tests. I am having difficulty making an appointment online or via the main [redacted] toll-free number or local DMV office number [redacted]. The lines are busy or give a constant busy signal. I am considering visiting the DMV in person but not being able to schedule an appointment could result in a long wait time. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I recently attempted to renew my driver's license, but I encountered an issue regarding my name change history. Despite providing various documents to prove my identity, the clerk advised me that I could not renew my license yet due to discrepancies related to my maiden name and past marriages. I have tried contacting the states of Missouri, Tennessee, and Florida to clarify this situation with no success. I have been using the name Odom since I was eight years old and subsequently changed my name to Mimnaugh after getting married in [redacted]. The clerk granted me a deadline until October 31st to resolve this matter. This situation has caused inconvenience, as even my bank manager noticed that my license is expired. I would appreciate any assistance or advice in addressing this issue promptly. Thank you.

My son, a Florida resident in the military stationed in Virginia, faced license suspension due to insurance verification issues. Despite updating his insurance from Geico in Florida to State Farm in Virginia, Florida was unable to verify his new coverage, resulting in the suspension. After reverting to Geico and attempting to submit the information online to no avail, he was still required to appear in person and pay a fee to restore his license.
His predicament is challenging since maintaining Florida insurance requires an in-person visit for license restoration, while switching back to Virginia insurance mandates a Virginia registration address, which he lacks as his car is registered in Florida. Additionally, changing his registration address is now impossible with the license suspension.
Seeking resolution has been difficult with phone communication proving unfruitful. Although considering submitting his military orders, conflicting requirements for an out-of-state address on the paperwork further complicate the situation, leaving us in a frustrating and confusing catch-22 situation.

Hello, my name is Charles Y. I am a West Virginia resident and also own a home in Jacksonville, FL. Recently, I purchased a new truck at Keith Pierson Toyota in Jacksonville on 2 October [redacted]. On 4 November [redacted], I traded that truck for another one and paid off both vehicles with a check. The paperwork for the initial truck purchase on 2 October [redacted] was delayed and only reached the West Virginia DMV on 3 January [redacted]. Keith Pierson Toyota has informed me that I will not receive any more temporary tags for the second truck, despite my current tags expiring on 28 January [redacted]. I am hoping for assistance in allowing them to issue additional temporary tags until their paperwork situation is resolved and I can obtain registration for the truck acquired on 4 November [redacted]. Thank you.

I have yet to receive my car title after transferring it from Tennessee to Florida. It has been over six months now, and I will need to pay for a duplicate title. I've been attempting to reach the help desk, but the automated system keeps saying all lines are occupied. Despite calling at various times during the day, I always encounter the same issue. How can I find out where the title was sent or confirm if it was ever sent at all?

I recently purchased two vehicle registration renewals and one vessel registration renewal through the Charlotte County Tax Collector's office in Florida. While I have received the vehicle registrations, I have not received the vessel registration yet. I reached out to the tax collector's office, and they informed me that the vessel registration is still pending without providing a reason. I was advised to contact the Tallahassee DMV office for further assistance. I have tried contacting customer service via phone and email multiple times with no response. The vessel registration in question is FL 0072PP, and I would appreciate a prompt resolution as it is nearing its expiration date. Please contact me at [redacted] or via email at [redacted] at your earliest convenience. Thank you, Brian Harrison.
