I am writing this to Family Dollar Corporate, care of the CEO. The store at [redacted] Hwy 98 in Smithdale, MS [redacted] has an ongoing issue that needs addressing. Upon visiting the store after 9:30 PM, specifically 9:20 tonight, customers are met by a staff member demanding payment by cash or card. If one has cash, they are turned away as the store claims not to accept cash at that time. Upon inquiring, the cashier mentioned they start counting the cash drawers early to be able to leave by closing time 40 minutes later. This rule comes from the manager, who allegedly instructed staff to act this way. This practice of refusing cash-paying customers, redirecting them to Dollar General or a town 20+ miles away, is unacceptable. Customers should be able to make purchases until closing time without discrimination. While I understand the desire to finish work promptly, turning customers away prematurely is unjust. Corporate intervention is necessary to address this performance issue affecting the community, the store's reputation, and potential profits. It is important to clarify if staff are indeed paid to refuse cash payments and leave early, as this conflicts with providing quality service. I respectfully request an explanation from the Family Dollar CEO regarding this matter for the benefit of all involved.

I have been attempting to contact a live operator at Family Dollar for a while without success. Last year, I reached out with a message but never received a response. The lack of customer service, disrespect shown by employees, poor stocking and cleanliness in stores, discrepancies in pricing, and overall disregard for customer feedback have been ongoing issues that I am considering involving a lawyer to address. Despite my loyalty to Family Dollar over the years, the lack of response and failure to address these concerns have disheartened me. Today, my attempts to contact them have been fruitless, and the presence of outdated items and dissatisfied employees who mistreat customers only adds to the disappointment in how Family Dollar operates its stores.

I recently made a purchase of over $[redacted] at the dollar store. After realizing I had misplaced my receipt, I went back into the store and requested a new one. Unfortunately, the receipt provided to me was torn and missing the barcode. I was assured by the staff that I would still be able to return items for a refund if needed. However, when I attempted to return an item at another store, I was informed that without the barcode, I could only receive store credit. This experience left me feeling frustrated as the initial assurance turned out to be incorrect. The staff member's disrespectful behavior, including name-calling, added to my disappointment. As a 32-year-old hearing-impaired disabled person, I believe I was treated unfairly and discriminated against. I am seeking immediate assistance to address this issue.

Hello, I'm Ricky Selman, a former employee of Family Dollar in Centre, Alabama on HWY [redacted]. I am looking to be rehired at Dollar Tree in Centre, Alabama, opposite Walmart. Good afternoon, I recently visited the Family Dollars store at [redacted] Harford Rd in Baltimore, MD (store #[redacted]) and found a Black History sweater shirt for toddlers priced at $1.85 on an end cap. When I brought it to the cashier, I was told it was $9.99. After requesting the manager, they mentioned that the item was mispriced but refused to honor the displayed price, mentioning it had the wrong sticker. As someone with experience in customer service and retail management, I was disappointed by the handling of the situation. I took a picture of the price and display and would like to speak with someone from Customer Relations regarding this matter.

I have purchased Amazon gift cards multiple times from Family Dollar stores. Occasionally, I’ve encountered issues where the cards were already redeemed or applied to another account. It seems like a problem where the register charges for the card without loading the information to Amazon's system. Amazon suggested contacting Family Dollar’s corporate headquarters, as they believe it’s a software glitch on their end, not Amazon's fault. When I spoke to the store, they claimed they are not responsible once the card leaves the premises. I suspect a software issue causing this. Can someone investigate with the card and receipt I have? I'd appreciate your effort in resolving this. Thank you.

I had a negative experience returning clothing at Family Dollar in Belington, WV. The cashier overcharged me on my credit card and when I asked for an explanation, she refused to deal with it and involved her mother who was also a customer. This resulted in a heated exchange of inappropriate words. I felt disrespected and it escalated due to the cashier's unprofessional behavior. I hope the store can address this situation and ensure that employees handle customer concerns appropriately without involving family members. My intention was simply to understand the overcharge and seek clarification. This incident has made me reluctant to shop at Family Dollar in the future unless such matters are handled more professionally.

I bought three pairs of sunglasses from a store while I was out and about, but later changed my mind about them. I tried to return them to a different Family Dollar store near my home with the original receipt, but the store associate, Mary, at [redacted] Hwy 6 N, Houston TX [redacted], informed me that I would need to return them to the original store where I purchased them. This policy was not mentioned on the receipt and was unexpected. I find this customer service experience to be disappointing and inconvenient.

Store Location: 66 South Wilson Way, Stockton, California, [redacted] Manager: Debra Hernandez My name is Rose Lopez, and I had a distressing experience at your store recently. While dealing with the loss of my significant other and feeling emotional, I purchased a Tracfone and a minutes card from a cashier, a Black American male. He informed me the total cost was $[redacted], but I later realized it should have been $60 with tax. I did not receive a receipt. I believe I was overcharged by your employee, and I am requesting a refund of $80. I have the unused products in the original bag. Please contact me at your earliest convenience. I am incredibly disappointed and upset by this incident and urge you to investigate and address this matter promptly. This is the third time I am reporting a fraudulent incident involving one of your employees. I was overcharged $80 by a cashier, a Black American man at Family Tree General Dollarstore located at 66 South Wilson Way, Stockton, CA [redacted], managed by Debra Hernandez. I entered the store in a vulnerable state, grieving the loss of my significant other, and requested the cheapest Tracfone and minutes card. The cashier, an employee of your reputable U.S. corporation, informed me my total was $[redacted], which I paid without receiving a receipt. Later, I realized the actual cost should have been approximately $67 with California sales tax, not $[redacted]. I am upset and shocked that a well-known U.S. corporation would treat a loyal customer this way. I demand a refund of $80 stolen by the cashier. Rose L. at [redacted] South Union Street, Stockton, California, 95[redacted].

I lost my cell phone, so I purchased a new one at a Family Dollar in Loreauville, LA. Even though the tag said $60, I paid $[redacted] for it. After opening the package at home, I realized I found my old phone. I promptly returned to the store to get a refund, only to be informed about their electronics policy preventing returns. This was surprising to me, as I was hoping to use the money for essential items. Desperately asking for your assistance in making an exception this time and accepting the unused phone back for a refund. Thank you for your consideration. Best regards, Jamie Standridge

I was erroneously charged for an item I did not intend to purchase. The cashier overlooked removing it after a price check, and I noticed the error on my receipt upon leaving as the item was not in my possession. Despite immediately returning to the store, the manager refused to issue a refund, citing the item as a sale item. However, the item did not have a sale sticker or any indication of being on sale, and I did not wish to buy it. The manager suggested I come back another day to speak with someone else, but I find it inconvenient to keep revisiting the store for resolution.

I had a distressing experience at the Family Tree General Dollar store where an employee, identified as a Black American man, cashier, overcharged me $[redacted] in cash for a product I did not receive. I asked for the cheapest TracFone and minutes card, being an AT&T smartphone user. Based on the advertised prices for the items, the total should have been around $67. However, the cashier insisted I pay $[redacted] without providing a receipt. As a loyal customer who was going through a mourning period and feeling emotional, I trusted the transaction. Unfortunately, when I got home, I found out that the product I received was not what I had asked for. This experience has left me feeling taken advantage of and upset. I would like the store to address this matter and provide a resolution as soon as possible.

I placed order #[redacted]8 back on Feb 18, and it's been a month without receiving it. Despite getting emails claiming my order was ready for pick up, it was not available when I went to the store. I was asked to pay $5 for information, which is unacceptable. I'm frustrated as I can't reach a live person on the phone, forcing me to type my concerns. The lack of customer service is disappointing. I demand either my order promptly or confirmation of cancellation and a refund. I am Chad Trent, you can reach me at [redacted] or [redacted]. I need answers on how to resolve this mess and why there are so many communication issues.

Today at your store in Ocala, I had a distressing experience. The manager there was very rude and used inappropriate language towards me, specifically targeting my race. She was unprofessional and hostile, creating a negative environment for customers. This behavior has been ongoing, with her mistreating white customers and favoring others based on race. The store is poorly managed, with items frequently out of stock and carts blocking aisles. Her behavior is unacceptable, and she should be held accountable for her actions. She does not seem concerned about consequences and openly displays racist behavior. Her mistreatment towards customers, including my pregnant wife, is unacceptable. I believe her name is Toya, and I urge you to address this issue promptly. It is essential to investigate and address her behavior to ensure a better shopping environment for all customers. Your immediate attention to this matter is crucial to prevent further mistreatment and ensure a positive in-store experience for everyone.

I bought an Apple gift card worth $[redacted] on March 17, [redacted], from my local Family Dollar as a gift. Unfortunately, when my friend tried to use it, they received an error message. Apple suggested returning to Family Dollar, but the store redirected me back to Apple. After contacting Apple again, they mentioned a potential scam and advised involving Family Dollar corporate. I reached out to Family Dollar, explaining the situation, and they assured me they would look into it. However, it has been almost a week, and I am still out the $[redacted]. I did not use the card, and Apple can confirm that. I am hopeful that there is a resolution to this issue as I should not be held responsible for a scam that resulted in my loss.

I require assistance getting another email sent to the manager at Brenton, WV, [redacted]. Her name is Joy Belcher. She banned me from Family Dollar after I filed an accident report. Family Dollar headquarters have emailed her instructing me to be allowed back into the store, but she claims she cannot find it. Allegedly, she expressed aversion towards me to a former employee because the employee praised me as a good customer. Can you please clarify the situation to her supervisor and email both her and her supervisor allowing my return to the store?

I have encountered an issue with a store situated at [redacted] Denton Highway in Haltom City, Texas on three separate occasions. Each time I visited, I noticed a display in the chip aisle with 24 hangers labeled at $1 each. However, upon reaching the register, I was consistently charged more than a dollar for these items, ranging from $1.25 to $2.49 during the first visit. The manager refunded the difference on the first occasion and mentioned that items were misplaced by someone. Despite this, a month later, the same items remain mislabeled on the rack along with three additional items. Every item I purchased from the rack marked at $1 was charged at a higher price. It is important that the displayed prices on the rack or shelf accurately match the prices of the products.
